Horrible. Just horrible. I ordered glasses and sunglasses and it was amazing how many things went wrong. My glasses: they came back to me in a timely fashion but when they did, there was a rather large speck of dust that they glazed over, so it was imbedded in the lens. They sent them back out to remove it & put a glare-free coating on the lenses. When they came back, I went back to pick them up and the spot was still there! So that’s 2 trips I made to pick them up and they didn’t correct the issue, yet called me back & said they were back. I also ordered prescription sunglasses. «About Ten days» was what they told me. Nope! Not Including weekends, it was more than 3 weeks. I finally picked up both pairs today & one of my sunglasses was Maui Jim — the guy tried to give me a cheap, little case & said, «let’s see if they fit in here». No, how about the appropriately sued MJ case that’s supposed to come with it? I also asked for the MJ lenses & they were completely broken. I’d recommend Stanton optical — which is pretty bad — before this place.

Very knowable and professional first had exam then signed in to look at eyewear. After a very short wait I was greeted by a sales person I started conversation out by telling her what I wanted. Price, style, etc. she answered«great lets get started» rather than looking through hundreds of pairs she kept me in one section I found exactly what I was looking for at a great price. In a short amount of time I was done and left very happy. Very proud to give them two thumbs up and a happy face

I’ve been a customer at Schmidt’s Optical since I moved here nearly 30 years ago. The last couple of times I needed a new prescription for my glasses, I saw Dr. Ashleigh Miller. She is wonderful! I also have a chronic eye condition which I was able to discuss with her in depth. Not only did she give me a prescription to help with this condition, but she also offered me some excellent(and inexpensive) suggestions I could try. She answered all of my questions, and I didn’t feel rushed as I do in most doctor’s offices nowadays. What a caring person she is! I can’t recommend her highly enough!

I cannot say enough good things about Schmidt’s Optical. My mother lives in Florida and I live in Boston area. She said I had to try Schmidt’s while visiting over the winter. So I went and found the most exquisite Tiffany eyeglass frames, but I liked the shape of lenses that were on another pair of glasses. I was told they could mix the two: use the frames I liked with the shape I liked. They also considered the thickness of my lenses. At every point in the process, I was given highly-customized advice. Lovely and the compliments I receive on these glasses are countless. I will always save my eye glass purchases for my winter trips to Florida. There is nothing to compare up here in the Boston area. We found ourselves in Stuart with a broken pair of glasses. Schmidt Optical was recommended, so off we went. Landon Allen took the time to get us back on the road. We were able to purchase a very reasonably priced frame that our existing lens fit right into. We were in and out in no time.

This review is just for repair service — but the experience was better than what I have ever had before from any optometrist. And that I am in the process of moving to the Treasure Coast, yes I will move my business to Schmidt’s. This past Monday 03 – 02, after returning from the beach, I was putting on my regular glasses, when I felt an unusual weakness in the right temple of my supposedly un breakable titanium eyeglass frame. Yep it turned out to be a clean break. First stop was the optical shop at the nearest big box retailer(headquartered in Arkansas) the tech was honest — there was nothing they could do to help, but sell me a new pair of glasses with an 8 – 10 day wait. Next stop was Schmidt’s. After a brief explanation at the customer service desk; there was a couple minute wait when, we were greeted by «Randy» who took one look and said that he could order the part; that it would be two or three days, and that he had a spare temple piece that would fit. We were out the door in less than 15 minutes. Fast forward to Wednesday morning, and at 11:30 my phone was ringing with a local Stuart number– yep, it was Schmidt’s. The part was in, and I was asked to stop by so that they could complete the repair. Total time in the store was less than 20 minutes; and I was thanked as if I was a long term customer for my business… In this case I wasn’t a long term customer; but I will be!

Have been to Schmidt’s in the past and had a very good experience from beginning to end. I recently called to make an appointment for myself & another person and I’m wondering if they have had a change in personnel. Was on hold for several minutes and people kept coming on asking me who I was holding for. I am in the customer service field and I try to give everyone the benefit of the doubt but Meagan who finally came on the line, well her CS skills are lacking to say the least. I hope that I have a better review when I come in for my appointment. I will be doing a follow up review.
