It’s even better now! The owner is slowly making upgrades and it’s so much nicer. Love this spot! Must come neighborhood bar.

Cool spot. Cheap drinks. Our bartender was super nice and there was awesome music. I only wish they had some options for specialty drinks.

Was skeptical about walking in to catch the NFL games, but really didn’t feel like Fox and Hounds for football. Since turning over owners this place has really seen the light — literally. It’s much more open now and plenty of TVs to catch every game. Great deals Sunday morning and Kate will make a mean Bloody Mary to either wipe away the pain or start your day off right. Pretty good beer selection — 10 or so on tap and plenty in the case. You can also order food from the Mexican restaurant next door and they’ll deliver it to you at the bar. Definitely swing by and see for yourself.

I have only been here once… and not at a cool time. I am sure when it is crowded and the music is blasting, and everyone is doing shots it would be great. For me, I went with my wife for a quick happy hour drink. People were friendly but the bar was almost empty. There is a butt bin outside for smokers.

This place isn’t mad. Its a pub so don’t expect the fanciest of fancies. But its a hole in the wall bar. I come here for a good stiff drink. They don’t have food but they allow you to get food from around the place and eat it inside. There is a mexican restaurant named Tortas next door, a Mediterranean place and Sushi Dan. If you are around there, I would say stop by and grab a drink. But dont drive out just for it.

My favorite bar ever. Casual, relaxed and inexpensive. Fun, friendly bartenders make for excellent service. I’ve never had a bad night at Maeve’s.

This place defines«dive bar», and not in the pseudo cool way you normally use when telling your friends you want to go to a «dive». Seats are cracked and sticky, air smells like bleach and an era where smoking was still allowed indoors. But, when everywhere else was packed, they had plenty of room for the World Cup and poured cool(not cold) pints of Guinness for only $ 4. You get exactly what you would expect.

Wow! What a change! Who would have known they would bounce back so fast! I was very surprised, I haven’t been there in a while and as soon as I stepped in I realized it was back to the good olé days(and more!!!). The attitude has changed, the environment has changed, everybody seems to be having fun all the time… it’s the perfect spot to hang out again!!!

Total dive bar I used to frequent in my young days and it hasn’t change at all. The couches are gone and also the décor is dated but still feels good in a strange way.

Was originally heading to Fox and Hounds to catch Arsenal and Hull in the FA Cup final, but they were packed. The overflow headed over to Maeve’s. Not a ton of TV’s but enough if you’re there to catch a game. Looks the part of an Irish pub. Guinness on tap, of course, along with SNPA, Amstel and a few others. Really happy they had Green Flash West Coast IPA, flabbergasted that it was $ 4/pint. No idea if it was a special for the game or not, but wow, that’s a great deal. Not in the area often, but would head back if I’m looking for a pint.

Straight up Dive Bar, with Heavy handed Bartenders. You’ll munch on popcorn and do cheap whiskey shots, throw some darts, and eat some greasy pub grub. Mostly filled with locals, and want to be actors, there’s always good conversation to be had. Decent prices, very strong drinks. Go and have a good time, beware the hangover you will certainly get.

Normal folk who just so happen to be in the industry or just plain normal people who don’t give a shit about your script. Metal darts. Heavy pours on the rum side of things. Irish theme. Sometimes they got live karaōke, sometimes they focus on whatever game’s playing on the TV at the moment. Wrap parties are held here but even if that part of the bar’s marked off, there’s always somewhere to go. I’ve never had a night where I had to fight to sit somewhere. Prices are normal, people are normal. This bar could be anywhere and it would still be cool.

After the English Pub up the street turned sour on us, we walked over to this oddly named establishment. First impression… this place is kind of empty. Second impression, holy shit people are eating Mexican take out, Indian take out, Chinese take out everywhere. The beer never stops flowing in this place and the TVs are playing the games. Side note: ANEPICPENALTYSHOOTOUTWASWITNESSEDHERE. Ample seating space, either by the bar, in your own booth, a couple stools, your pick. Darts? You got it. Live music where the musicians play music that they have actually written, YOUGOTIT. No cover songs here. The musicians stop for us to watch the epic shootout, because thats what real fans do, and then we continue to listen to great music and play some bar trivia. What a great dive!

I dread my trips to Los Angeles because, well, for obvious reasons. It’s tough to find normal people, it’s tough to find a quiet bar, it’s tough to find a reason not to jump in front of traffic. Actually, you don’t need to jump in front of traffic — people are so confused by the sight of a pedestrian that they’ll probably run you over while gawking, tweeting, texting, and driving at the same time. Luckily, they’ll be driving a Prius, so your body should be able to withstand the impact. Anyway, Maeve’s is a 2.5 mile walk from the hotel where I stay when I am in Studio City. The fact that I’ve made that walk multiple times implies this bar is worth it. They have a pretty good tap list and it’s usually not too crowded. They also have events like open mic comedy and music sometimes. There are some dart boards. This bar just feels like a normal bar in a sea of lounges, which is very refreshing. There appears to be a solid group of regulars who, while not overtly inviting to newcomers, are nice enough. Actually, it’s a bar where people will leave you alone, which is something I appreciate as well. The bartenders have always nice and their attentiveness is pretty good, despite the fact that they’re often carrying on conversations with the regulars. In any other city in the world, Maeve’s would be a standard 3-star bar, but it gets an upgrade for placing itself in a strip mall in LA.

EDIT — 2−25−14: Unfortunately, for reasons unstated by management, they have cancelled all karaōke on Sunday’s and Thursday’s for the foreseeable future — orphaning a fun, singing crowd on their two best nights. Damn, what a shame! Still a great little dive bar, but it’s lost an important part of it’s charm. 3⁄5 ORIGINALREVIEW — 8÷11÷2013: Residuals: It gets under your skin. And you kinda like it. Reeeeally like it. What can I say? I love this bar. It’s a REAL bar. Mixed crowd. No pretense. Hidden on the back corner of a Studio City strip mall… This is truly a «Cheers» atmosphere. A beautifully dive, with free popcorn, board games, darts, cheap beers and a great staff/crowd. It’s also INCREDIBLY spacious with plenty of nooks and corners to tuck into and hide — compared to it’s British neighbor«Fox and Hounds». Especially on busy nights, you’ll appreciate it. The nights to attend: SUNDAYNIGHTKARAOKE — The incredibly talented crop of regulars on Sunday, who sing, drink and dance the night away make everyone up on stage feel like a complete rock star. The bartenders pour them strong and fast. It’s an amazing place to hit. Honorable mention, THURSDAYNIGHTLIVEBANDCOREYOKE — Sing from a list of awesome songs with a full, live band backing you. It’s like that. Just show up. Relax. Have a drink and join the fun. You’re sure to make a few memories. 5⁄5

Incredibly subpar. Not that I know what a Studio City hip Irish bar is suppose to feel like, but it’s just so… bland. Nothing exceptional. The bartender was un-attentive. Someone named Kim… I think. She just didn’t give a shit. Listen, if I saw me, I wouldn’t give a shit either, but I just had a crappy day and now I was babysitting my actor friend who just got done with a play. Not that I expect five star service, but just a level of sympathy. I sat at my table and as she was clearing my glass«could I get a Blue Moon when you get a chance?» Without looking up «You have to get it at the bar.» Okay, I get that. People who serve you ONLY do what is necessary. ANYTHING else they can blame on policy. But here’s the thing… I’ve worked service before. Came from service family. I would NEVER in a million years EVER say that to a paying customer. That’s just common business sense. This after waiting a good ten minutes prior when she was debating with the tequila lady about an ice display. Then, as we were waiting(this I could not believe), she checked her phone BEFORE asking me and people around me what we wanted. Fine. I’m not sure what that was about. Only that she didn’t single me out, but just… I get it… service job sucks. The only regret I have is that I don’t know where my tip went. The dude who finally got me a Blue Moon was alright. And I hope he got most of it. But I doubt it This place has that feeling that you need them more than they need you. And it shows in low attendance(the place was half empty at 1AM). Even though drinks are cheaper than any north Hollywood bar. This place is a disappointment. And with a very cool history, it pains me to rate them so poorly.

For a good time call… okay its not one of those joints. But I must say as a person who despises karaōke, this place makes it fun. Do note that they don’t have it every night but on the nights they do, its a must. Oddly this place draws some really good singers or perhaps the alcohol just makes everyone that gets up on that stage a star. I enjoyed the vibe of this bar, everyone is more sociable and livelier than other places. None of the posh or biker gang crew hanging out here. The crowd seems more carefree of the world, some even dance along with the music. Though we didn’t get a chance to sing, we did manage a couple of dances, excellent place. Highly recommend this spot, more and more becoming a believer that there is a night life in the valley; this spot definitely adds to the pot.

Mediocre dive bar. After getting over the initial surprise of «that» smell, it’s a nice divey bar to meet friends at. Popcorn is always available. What is that smell? Parking sucks.
