I hosted my birthday here one year ago, and it just came to my realization that I never left a very well-deserved review for this place. This place offered no cover for my guests, their tapas were delicious(though expensive for small portions), and generally a very open area with dimly lit chandelier-looking lights. I loved the place. I had a wonderful time. There is a restaurant portion at the beginning of the place, however our guests were in the bar area with the bar right in front of us. I would definitely suggest for people to go there. Loved my experience. Thank you!

Wow this place is horrible !! Pick another bar guys. Manager was unprofessional and rude… they definitely need customer service. We order a drink it was disgusting I asked the bar tender to possibly change to something different he rudely responded«you still need to pay for your drink» he took the drink from my othrt friend while she was sipping, he said«have a nice day » what a jerk!!! Useless managers. Never again. Hope they go out of business soon.

This place really disappointed me. As I’ve been to this place 3 times before and was satisfied THEN. But NOW, My boyfriend coordinated a birthday gathering at this lovely place. Firstly for the ambiance and secondly for the food and drinks. From 9pm until close we brought business to them on a Sunday night. 15 people worth ordered food and drinks. Not to mention they were very slow otherwise. Maybe 5 people were in and out while we were there. Not only were they unclear concerning questions we had and wrong answers being given but their whole attitude was just dry and they seemed like they weren’t happy to have our business. Customer service is very important to me. They FIRST said we could bring the cake and cut it ourselves with NO charge. Then once the actual day came along management said that regardless if we wanted to cut it or not there was a charge. 2 $ per person. Hmm okay. So we figured maybe to present the cake but just eat it after. However when we got there and were settled in, we realized that would be awkward. So THEN a friend of ours approached the manager on my behalf since it was my birthday and she was able to work it out but there was still a charge of 40 $. Which isn’t too bad… still over what I’ve ever paid to have a cake at a place. Bottom line… I wasn’t comfortable being there and wished I had my gathering somewhere else. Which is unfortunate.

This place really needs to work on its customer service. I went there a few weeks ago to celebrate the reunion show that was just booked for my band that has been on hiatus since 2010. No names, I’m not here to plug. I will just say we were out to party like rock stars«for real’. I have heard about this place before from a few people and we were all in the mood for something unique. Being the one to treat that night I was well prepared to drop a few thousand dollars, maybe more, on bar hopping from there to Sunset Blvd. We entered to find the place well decorated with a very cozy feel to it so my band mates and our lovely ladies sat down and ordered drinks. There was only 1 other person in there so we basically had the place to ourselves. We had all consumed many road sodas in the limo, so we were primed to throw a munch before we drank the rest of the night away. The waiter brings our menu’s over and none of us could read them because the lights were so dim. I proceeded to tell the waiter that money was no object and to start bringing us the BEST Tapas they made and not to stop until we said so. Now when someone says something like that one would think that would be a Chef’s dream. I have done this many times before, all over the world and have had some amazing gourmet cuisine. They brought a cheese and cracker platter out that was actually ok and seemed like a good start to the Tapas extravaganza that we all thought we were in for. WRONG! Then they fricken bring out some beef slider’s & French fries! WTF!!! What a fricken let down! So we all decided to leave and get some sushi next door. That’s probably how they got there name… People always leave and eat next door after experiencing Next Door Tapas. The owner should take a trip to Spain where Tapas was invented to get some better idea’s than sliders & fries. The word Tapas actually means«free food» as long as your ordering drinks. This joint is NOT Tapas!

Rude staff… Didn’t wanna serve us drinks at thirty minutes past midnight on a Saturday night saying that it was too slow and the bar was closed as a result. The supervisor/bartender George was extremely rude about the whole thing. This WAS my favorite place to get a quick drink. Not anymore!

Very cute and cozy place… Jose the bartender is so friendly, I didn’t imagine I could find Fernet Branca and he really know it what I was asking for. The tapas delicious! For sure I will be back!

A group of friends reserved a few tables for a birthday party. About an hour into our evening(and several hundred dollars later) the owner, Frank, came over and gave one of our tables to another patron without even asking us. When we confronted him, he yelled at us and said he took the table away because we weren’t sitting down. We explained to him that our group had already spent a lot of money on tapas and drinks, he told us he didn’t care and that if we wanted the table we should’ve been sitting down. He was very rude and out of line. The person he was yelling at was the birthday girl!!! Would not recommend this place.

I love this place. Me and my fiancé had been looking to do our engagement party and came across a lot of very rude restaurants/lounges. I called this place and they were very friendly and nice from the beginning. They were able to accommodate our party of about 25 and they were very, very attentive to our entire group. They came around and checked on us, they offered to cut our cake and save it for us in the fridge, offered to lower the volume of the music if it got too loud or change the type of music, and overall I couldn’t have been happier with our choice. The food and drinks were also exceptional. The pricing, quality, service and attention is exceptional and I would highly recommend for a great time.

Hosted a networking event here recently and it was the perfect venue. The owner gave us our own private section that fit about 80 – 100 of our guests. Really nice ambience and décor. Seems like it’s a nice date spot. Service was great and quick for food and drinks. We still had quite a few guests at 11, their closing time, and they were nice enough to stay open and continue serving us until 1am. Had a great experience here. Will definitely be back so that I can try their food.

3.5 stars. The food(tapas) was good but I thought it was a little too pricey in my books for small appetizers. Tasty, yet overly priced! Next Door wouldn’t be a favorite choice for me as I eat big meals. Tapas just tickle my stomach. We had a mini-20 year high school reunion here. The atmosphere was nice. Romantic, cozy, dim-lit, open aired, good service. The bar area was nice. I wasn’t sure if they normally have a resident DJ during the weekends but the DJ was playing everything from 80s/90s/Spanish music, etc. He might have been hired by the other party in the bar area. The drinks were pricey as well. A good romantic place to take a date, but watch out for the high prices for the tapas and drinks. Valet parking up front($ 4.50), very easy to miss from Ventura Blvd.

What an awesome gem. I’ve always wanted to find a place exactly like this. Its intimate, dark, nice décor, nice people and over all preeeeety awesome. Food was amazing. We got all the meat dishes and the fries. Oh gosh, I’m salivating thinking about it. I want to go back TONIGHT.

Honestly, most people would probably leave right after arriving here because«it’s not popping». Those are the exact types of people i’d like to avoid at all costs. Scene people who go places just to be seen. Kill yourselves. There’ll be more standing room for the rest of us. If you’re looking for a spot that’s relatively quiet and low key for drinks and small bites of amazing food, give this place a try. The Veal Cheek was dynamite. So were the Moroccan Chicken Skewers and the Filet. There was plenty of room on the couches for us to sit comfortably and service was top notch. Great for couples too.

We were there before the crowd around 6:15. I imagine later in the evening it’s probably a bit more sexy. But that early on with that much natural light, the outdated furniture and décor took away from the vibe. The drinks were good, strong and not too sweet. I had the mojito with muddled blueberries. Then we ordered the bikini de mozzarella which simply put was a ham and cheese sandwich. Meh. After that, we paid our tab and headed to other places down the street.

Love this place. I attended a work function here last night. Drinks were strong, food was good. ambience was upscale. I highly recommend the crab cakes. They were terrific. Tons of crab in it. Some places skimp on the crab and put too much bread crumbs in it. Not here. I will definitely come back!

Would give it 0 stars if I could. Basically: they don’t know how to treat their customers. The service is mediocre at best and the manager is a troll that disguises himself as a person. In summary: Just go to Firefly instead– the nice bar a couple doors down that they’re trying to imitate– the drinks are just as expensive, except there they understand customer service.

If you’re looking for a small, chill place to grab some drinks and maybe grab something light to eat, then this is the place for you. I have been here a few times and it has never been overly crowded. The bartenders are attentive and it doesn’t take forever to get a drink. I have only been to the bar area and there is always a place to sit and there is background music, but you can still have a conversation with people you are there with. There is no pretentious bouncers, or rude waitresses, the crowed is pretty eclectic. I definitely recommend this place.

Came to this place on a Friday night after trying to head to 3 other places that were packed to the brim, The Next Door was barely creeping. Sent a guy in to scout it out, said there was a great area to chill so we checked it out to confirm. Liked what we saw and ended up chilling there for about 2 hours sipping martinis and rum runners. Only gripe is the music choice… ok I know you’re restaurant is Latin themed but you don’t HAVE to play mariachi music… it’s a little annoying. It was about 15 mins in that we noticed it… I will say that it made for a fun conversation piece where we laughed a lot about the choice of music because one of our guys with us was of Latin decent and was laughing how he knew all of the songs and was embarrassed about it! The music changed about an hour in to loud house music, which was ok, but there were maybe 20 people in your lounge and we were all forced to scream at each other to talk. Wouldn’t kill you to moderate the music situation. I was intrigued about the area above the bar though, what is that? VIP? Chef’s tables? I kinda really want to know… maybe I’ll come back again and check it out. If nothing has improved in terms of clientele I’ll won’t have to worry about kicking my way through! Enjoy.
