Great cocktails and a great venue. Perfect local spot and the crowd is very good. Good spot if you have a group. Haven’t had the food here yet but the restaurant is always busy. The bar side of the venue is great.

I originally gave this place 5 stars, because I have been here a handful of times for drinks and I have always had a great experience. I have been wanting to come here for dinner for a while, their outdoor restaurant area is beautiful, romantic and when the time came to pick a cute place for my birthday I settled on Firefly. I made reservations over a week beforehand for a table of eight for Saturday night. We get there on time and the table was not set up, we waited for a few minutes, which was fine. We were then walked over to the very back corner of the restaurant on a high table and high chairs. This was issue number one of the night. The seats were so uncomfortable, we were in a corner. I was wedged into the corner, our space was so small I couldn’t even get up to greet my guests. We were told by what seemed like the manager that we would get the table next to ours once it was vacated so we had more space, did this happen? NOPE. My main issue with this place was the service, It seems like many Unilocalers have had the same issue with coming here with big groups and getting less than stellar service. It took FOREVER to get bread to the table, it took even longer to get our drink orders. It was my birthday, I wanted to drink, get a buzz going and have a fun night with my girls. Firefly completely ruined that experience. It took a total of 2 hours just to get our entrees. And to top it off I have to deal with getting attitude from the waitress when I’m asking for a simple drink order? Hell to the no. When time came for the bill; I know its annoying for the waitresses to be asked to divide the bill per person so we asked to just get it divided into 2 parts. She ends up charging my friend over $ 200, she does retract the charge then acts like its such a non-issue when my friend brought it to her attention(only way my friend knew this happened was because of her mobile pay bill). Otherwise, the waitress would have never said anything. Lady, it is an issue because now it will take time for that $ 200+ to go back on my friends card. Also, what if she didn’t have the $ 200 in her account now she has to pay a penalty for overcharges?! Out waitress(I’m too nice to mention her name), was rude, short and incompetent. I have worked in customer service before, I get having a bad day and not wanting to deal with BS. If this had been any regular dinner I wouldn’t care as much, but we were here for my birthday. The fact that my friends were also treated poorly when they were out to celebrate with me, made me feel incredibly uncomfortable. Plus if it were a CPK or Cheesecake Factory I would look the other way, but when you’re paying decent prices you want the service to be worth the high prices. Aside from the many negatives, the food was great. We started with the deep fried olives– to die for! and I got the mushroom pasta, which was rich, creamy and flavorful. Only way I will come back here is to get drinks. DONOTCOMEHEREIFYOUARELARGEPARTY!

I celebrated my birthday here this past October and everything went perfectly well! This place has amazing food, an amazing atmosphere, and high standards when it comes to service. Although my server was a little slow and forgot a few things she made up for it by not charging for a couple of things. The food is up there as far as flavor and presentation, a little pricey, but you get what you pay for. Muscles, tuna tartare, and crispy olives are A must to start with and all the dinner items are good enough so take your pick Good vibes, good place for just drinks, a date, with group of friends, alone. Whatever your situation is, it’s a cool spot to check out

After a lovely time our server lost my credit card. I am literally shaking and in shock. Mostly because our server asked for another card very casually to pay the bill as if nothing was wrong. No «I’m sorry». I gave her a new card then when the receipt came back and I looked at the tip area. I thought«wait a second». If anyone knows what I’m talking about when cancelling a debit card. Waiting for a new card, going to the bank for a temp, and all the auto debits I have in there as well as Netflix and so on. At my request the manager comped our bill. B of A is of course closed. I have to wait until morning to cancel the card. I went out for a fun birthday, instead full of anxiety. I’m not sure is zero stars is harsh enough.(although Unilocal!Doesn’t allow zero stars) :(

Wow! What a cute place to have brunch on a Sunday. Being a huge Bloody Mary fan, I had to try out their creative pick your own toppings bar. My drink had shrimp, bacon, celery and olives and it was mm mmm delicious! We also ordered the boo boo burger, a plate of croissants and my favorite was the lobster Benedict! Not only was the presentation on point, it tasted so good! It was my first time having lobster with an eggs Benedict and I’ll be sure to order it again. I also found this place to be decorated so nicely. The outside had a beautiful patio and they played live music which I enjoyed. The inside is super cute and looks like a library. This place is a hidden gem of Studio City and I can’t wait come back!

Firefly has been one of my favorite restaurants for many many years. The décor is gorgeous. I’ve tried to recreate the décor in my own outdoor space at home(I mentioned«tried»). It’s a perfect date place with all of the candles and the huge outdoor fireplace. Not to mention, that the food is out of this world fantastic. It is on the pricey side but completely worth every penny. My husband took me here for Valentines Day and I was a very happy girl!

Yum yum yum. Date night and we loved everything. Service great and waitress was honest about what to order. Mussels amazing; fresh and flavorful. Tuna tartare was good, not amazing but still great. Brussels sprouts rocked !! Cheese platter always a great choice. The hit of the night was the white chocolate cheesecake. I could eat that all day long! Firefly has been a great gem in the valley and will continue to for a very long time.

Got here early, around 5pm, and the bar lounge area was such a great area for having a drink and chatting with my date because there was only one other couple there, and it was easy to hear each other and have at least some privacy. Later on in the evening it gets crowded and I don’t think I’d enjoy the lounge as much. The dining area was beautiful, a courtyard with fireplace in middle. The chairs were extremely uncomfortable however. Food was good, but I think I can find better food for the price. I think you’re basically paying for ambiance here. Since it was Valentine’s Day, I gladly overpaid for a romantic setting. But just for a nice meal out, I think I’ll go elsewhere.

Went there last night for Valentine’s dinner and it was unfortunately not so pleasant. My boyfriend made the reservation back in December for the canopy areas. When we walked in, the hostess had NOIDEA and told us it’s for 4 people or more that no one should’ve promised him anything. That’s fine, understandable BUT it’s YOURFAULT for not training your hostesses. We didn’t need to stand around confused until they figure it out. Our server, wow, don’t know her name because she NEVERINTRODUCEDHERSELF. I get it, you want tips for 4 people, but hey, it’s SOMEONE’S Valentine’s day. Isn’t service all about serving? My boyfriend was being too generous by tipping her more than 20% on our dinner that came out to be over $ 250. The food was mediocre, nothing was explained. All other girls were HANDED a rose, while my boyfriend handed me mine because our RUDESERVER didn’t take the time to explain or congratulate us. NEVER, NEVER going back. The party of 4 behind our table seemed to be enjoying their dinner with full attention. I felt really sorry for my boyfriend who took the time, effort, and used his money for such crappy restaurant.

Came here with friends a couple Months ago for my birthday. When I called to make reservations they stated that I need to lay ahead and have a set menu however they quickly changed their minds when I said I wasn’t interested anymore. The day came and as all my friends arrived we were seated at a high table which was extremely uncomfortable s it was situated against a wall. Our waiter was far from accommodating! He was extremely rude and constantly said rude comments when we complained or asked any questions! I will definitely not be back!

I feel like this place has a bipolar disorder. We’ve visited this place many times for dinner and also just to have drinks by the bar. The dinner part is always a pleasant experience. The waiters are nice, the food is prepared well and comes out on time, and the drinks are good as well. The bar though is a completely different story. I don’t know where they find most of their bartenders but if this was my establishment, they’d be fired before their first day on the job. Our last two visits there, we had a terrible time. Getting a drink is like pulling teeth. The bartenders spend their time talking to their regular clients and completely ignore you. When you do get their attention, their arrogant attitude just kills the mood. You almost want to tell them like dude, you either live in your moms basement or you’re here from out of town living with 5 roommates trying to write a movie script. Let me open your eyes for you, you’re not going to make it in the industry. You’re not cool either. Just do your damn job and make the drinks. If you’re too cool for that, get a different job! Because of this I will only be going there for dinner and skip the bar experience.

Cool spot to go for drinks! It gets crowded so I recommend going earlier than later. Valet is the easiest way to handle parking so suck it up and bring the $ 4 or whatever it is. The ambience was cool, and lots of eye candy around. Even if I didn’t end up hooking up with my date, I still would’ve rated this place 5 stars. :)

WARNING… If you’re coming here with a large group, don’t. Stop now and look elsewhere. Don’t come here. The manager, Thibaud, is AWEFUL. He is rude, dishonest and unwilling to go above and beyond to provide outstanding customer service– even when you’re spending BIG $$$. He couldn’t accommodate our group comfortably, the pre-set menu of food was stingy and he treated our guest of honor horribly. It put such a bad taste in my mouth. The only saving grace between a miserable time and good one was our server Scott. Thank you Scott for caring about our large table and being willing to do anything you could. Thibaid– you’re a jerk and we will NEVER be back here. Even though the atmosphere was sexy and fun, I will NEVER support your business with a single dollar more. Respect is earned not demanded!

I took a first date there. The entrees were very good. The appetizers not such a fan especially the crispy olives. The décor and ambiance were tasteful. While over all the experience was positive the waiter got our order wrong, however the most obnoxious thing was the music was to loud for conversation.

Firefly will always be one of my favorite places to grab a bite or drink in LA. The atmosphere of this place is amazing. It is very romantic but also chill if you weren’t on a date or something, it would be the perfect atmosphere for any type of thing. The library looking area makes it super home-y. It makes you feel like you are in a relatives mansion while they are hosting a party or something. Cabana like style dining area and just great food and drinks. I adore Firefly.

looking for a place with great ambience this is it! I loved the lighting and low-key entrance to the restaurant. It had such a nice vibe that it enhanced my whole experience. If your looking for a good place for a date or a have classy night out this is a great place. I came here for a friend’s birthday and everyone left satisfied(group of 6). I had the tuna tartar which was good, and we all had the salmon dish that was very good. 1 Con: Drinks not so good, you’re better off ordering a simple vodka cranberry. this place is great go ahead and check it out.

First came here for a friends birthday at the bar about a year ago, realized they also serve dinner & told myself I would come back and man oh man am I happy I did. Very low key, intimate/romantic type of vibe both at the bar and the dining area. The first thing that impressed me was how accommodating and nice the staff was– they were more than happy to take my huge party and were extremely attentive and happy to serve. Now let’s talk about the food: wow. Fine dining in the heart of studio city worth every dollar! Everything from the kale salad, cheese platter, to my salmon, to my boyfriends steak to my friends scallops were simply to die for. You can taste the love and care out into the food & that’s what it’s all about at least to me. Did I mention the bar & the strong cocktails?(Lit). I recommended anyone in the area try this place out!

The place was not as spectacular as the pictures looked. It was also way too dark inside, I understand dim lighting can be romantic but I would’ve liked some light so that I could see how my food looked. Like they say, you eat with your eyes first. The strawberry fields drink was pretty good yet strong. The duck dish was tasty overall but the duck itself was way too fatty and chewy, it took me so long to chew each piece I couldn’t really talk to people. Also, they did not give us sharp knives for our duck, just the regular blunt knife which made this dish also hard to work with.(for some reason they brought us some sharp serrated knives afterwards to cut our cupcakes…) The white dipping sauce that came with the fries and crispy olives tasted really fishy and weird. Our waiter was so busy throughout the night that he barely paid attention to us. For restaurants with similar price, this meal was not too spectacular.

Firefly is an interesting bar, the vibes oozing out of it vary night to night. If attending on it’s busy days like Thursday-Saturday, expect to be in an environment similar to that of every bar in southern California. It gets packed and service can be minimal. If attending any other night, especially Sundays, it is calm and relaxing. Service can be a little better depending on the waiter. In terms of the food, portions are small and the prices are even higher. True it does taste wonderful, all their pastas taste unique and fries are made to perfection; however, it’s price is quadruple the portion size. The drinks are the same; tiny size and huge damage. to your wallet. My friends and I had and few drinks and were surprised by the check in the end. However, the vibe of the restaurant was worth attending. It reminded me of restaurants in movies with dimmed lights and couples on dates dressed to impress. I admired the energy from the place, which is why I will return to see if the service will get any better and will try to see if my experience gets better by the visit. Firefly has a lot of good potential and seems to already be doing really good for itself.

It’s funny how my friend calls this place the«cheaters spot», because no one really knows about it unless u hear about it through someone else. There’s no actual sign that says«firefly», aside from the valet parking. Came here one night because my friend and I were craving wine. She recommended sitting at the bar because bartenders are actually more friendly than the waitresses serving the tables. Love the ambiance to this place. It reminded me of the library bar in DTLA, but more romantic. Great place to take your lady to for anniversary or what not. I can’t really comment on the food, since I only came here to drink. The wine was exceptionally delicious. Strong, just the way I like it. Bartenders are attentive. I got hungry towards the end of the night, but the kitchen was closed so one of them gave me his protein bar. Hahaha. Would def. return to this spot. Highly recommend going and checking this place out if haven’t already.

Loving everything about Firefly’s vibe; darkly lit Library Lounge, outside patio bar, the curtained candle laden cabana dining options alfresco. The appetizers, the entrée’s and the desserts all SHINE. Special Mention: «Beautiful Disaster» Dessert — this is the most phenomenal ice cream that has ever graced my mouth. The presentation is an ocular bonanza; the taste is a gastronomical home run. I’m coming back just for this dessert.

Be sure to watch for a building covered in vegetation or you’ll drive right past. Excellent place for dinner. As a party of three we ordered drinks and an appetizer. The drinks were excellent and the cheese plate too. We had the Nebraska steak and the chicken main course. Sides were the peppers, broccoli, and Pomme Frits. The pepper were the best side overall. I added a glass of the Meritage. All very good. The best part though was the ambience. The dining room is outside next to a hillside. Open to the world except for the roof. It made for a very enjoyable evening. Highly recommended and it was not too expensive. Ran about $ 120 for the three of us.

Came here for dineLA 2015 and was very impressed with my overall experience. PARKING: Either valet in front of the restaurant or metered parking along Ventura Blvd. But beware as it’s difficult ASUSUAL to find parking on ventura blvd. I showed up a bit early so seated myself at the bar to grab a drink first. Their cocktail menu is amazing! Everything sounded so good I had such a hard time deciding what to get. My bartender was very helpful in helping me choose the perfect cocktail and i’m glad I got it! I got the Strawberry Fields one and it was great. Beware! Their drink menu posted on their website as well as their dineLA menu posted on the dineLA site are different than the actual menus when you get to the restaurant. Not a big deal since everything is still very good, but just a good thing to know in advance. Overall the setting is very cozy, cute, romantic, you name it! They have a small lounge/library area inside for some easy cocktail drinking as well as a canopy area outside. Everything is just so beautiful about this place, I HIGHLY recommend this place for a date! I ended up getting the tuna tartare, the steak, and finally the cornbread with ice cream dessert. Steak was cooked and flavored well and the tuna tartare had great flavor! While the food is great here, I think I’d come back mostly for the cocktails and ambiance!

Firefly is a nice restaurant with a beautiful, romantic outdoor patio for dining under the stars. We decided to try their dineLA menu — 3 courses for $ 40. As the food is pretty pricey here, this is a good value. APPETIZERS Hamachi Sashimi –Tomato Ponzu, Relish, Heirloom Tomatoes, Pepper Cress. This was a very fresh dish, but the vinegar in the dish overpowered the delicate Hamachi. Big Eye Tuna Tartare –Avocado, Umeboshi, Smoked Sesame. Nice components, very fresh tuna. ENTREE Nebraska Prime Ribeye Steak — without bone, it was a bit too fatty, under seasoned, and underwhelming. It did not seem like it was a prime cut. However, it was very tender. The accompanying potato casserole with mascarpone and mushrooms was rich and delicious. DESSERT Brownies and Milk — a chocolate walnut brownie with coffee stout ice cream. The brownie was dry and the ice cream had a bit of a crystalline texture and not as rich as I had hoped. The sweet milk powder was an interesting component, but it did not really add much to the dish. Service was efficient, but it lacked warmth, charm, or any real interactions other than the basic needs. There also was no explanation of each dish served, which I think a restaurant of this price point should have. Had we had another server, my thoughts might have been different. I would consider returning for dineLA only. Otherwise, the prices charged do not justify the food and service here. parking — metered, valet, or free street parking several blocks away

Studio City has become a place to go and hangout, more and more with several good eateries which walking distance from one another. And Firefly is on top of that list! Service, great!!! Ambiance, superb! Drinks, refreshingly interesting! And food is exquisite! Must must try the roasted octopus, it’s expensive and worth every bite! And that bread! How do they make that!!! They have a bar area, quite modern that flows into a lounge area called library which is so chic, and opens from one wall to the garden-romantic outdoors. Very well matched and decorated. The bathrooms are beautiful! Well-staffed, but no one is overbearing; the employees are on top of their game, always alert & ready to serve, kudos to them and the management. The chef, I didn’t get the name, is cooking from her/his heart! You could taste it in every bite. And for the chef to make something that wasn’t offered that night just won my heart. This is as good as it gets! Trendy, fresh, semi-posh, fun and hip, yet enough elegance to feel you’re out in town to feel pampered! Firefly deserves a 5 star plus! Do go and let me know!
