Worst Lobster and Mac Sorry to say that this place was a disappointment to me. When we arrived we were sat right away which was great however we were sat in the middle of the room when the place was pretty much empty. We did not request to move as we did not want to make a fuss. We ordered the seared Ahi Tuna for an app. and it was good, a little over priced but good. We ordered the Berri Tini’s which were very good, the hot bread was great, however the problem came when ordering dinner at which time we also lost the attention of our waiter until it was time to tip and then he was more then helpful taking the payment. At one point another waiter came to help us. I can not express how disappointed we were in the Lobster Macaroni and Cheese, this tasted like something out of a box. The lobster was chewy and the pasta had a cheese sauce that was so tasteless. The price on this baby was $ 20.95 ouch! Live and learn but this will not be a place I go to again. The pork chop we ordered was good not $ 28.95 good but way better the the mac and cheese.

I want to give Spark Woodfire Grill five stars, I really do. The food is more than awesome, inventive, creative, fresh, wonderfully prepared and presented… But if it weren’t for the Eat24 app, I would have never known this place ever existed. But now SWG is no longer available for ordering on Eat24. Nor is it available at GrubHub or ChowNow or any other online food ordering source. I hate parking along Ventura Blvd in Studio City. I’m none too fond of waiting for tables, listening to overloud conversations of inebriated hipsters, cramped restaurant bathrooms,. And did I mention parking? Never mind the fact that when I get home after a 14 hour day at the office, the last thing I really want to do is go out, look for a parking space or pay $ 9 to a valet that may or may not rummage through my glove compartment and steal my iPhone charger, wait in a loud bar area for a too small table and listen to people shouting about what the Kardashians are doing on Twitter while I eat. I just want good food. When Spark Woodfire Grill opens itself up to online ordering again, I will add the last two stars.

I recently came on a date here with my boyfriend. The ambience has changed since I was last here a few years ago. I remember it being a lot more romantic and their specialty being steak, now I see it’s pizza? Anyways, they had two steaks on the entire menu which I was kinda disappointed about, but oh well, not their fault I didn’t know they changed. I ordered the Peppered Sirloin and my date ordered the Tri Tip. Let me add — there is nothing I love more than the steak being brought out exactly how you ordered it, the first time! Kudos Spark! The steak was fantastic and the tri tip was even better! We both ordered medium rare. The woodfire really gives it that smokey taste that reminds you of good barbecue and it had that crispness on the outside. which we loved! Mm mm mm! Service was excellent, we had a great waiter, hostess was sweet and the bus boys were prompt and kept our table free of dishes. I give it 4 stars instead of 5 because the ambience could be better for those prices and my green beans were over cooked(not a big deal). I would come again, I want to try their breakfast next.

I love this place. The woodfire baked eggs with sausage is classic. I love Italian food. They have goat cheese & rosemary housemade biscuits. The bacon is fantastic. And of course, how can you argue with $ 6 bottomless mimosas?

I loved this place! This was a place where I would go to celebrate friends’ birthdays and other special occasions. So when my friend had a major work accomplishment happen today there was no other place we wanted to go. It took a little bit for my friend to arrive, so I was waiting. No one even acknowledged I was sitting there, other than to put some water in front of me. While waiting for my friend, I tried to flag down my waiter and eventually got his attention. I ordered a bottle of champagne so we could toast as soon as she arrived. Unfortunately, as luck would have it, my friend broke her full glass of champagne immediately after she sat down. Sitting with a broken champagne flute in front of us we waited, hoping someone would take notice. I watched as the manager walked right pass our table and walked the floor, acknowledged some guests, picked up a check. Our waiter also walked right by us. Sitting with broken glass in front of us, we finally stopped a bus boy, who helped us clean the table. When the manager saw our table was wet, he came over to help us. When my friend got his attention she asked if it was possible to have a fresh glass of champagne since she spilled hers. He said that it was her fault, so he did not take responsibility for her mishap(he didn’t even ask if we were okay). After several times of explaining the situation and that we were sitting with broken glass on our table, he refused to compensate her with the champagne we had and eventually offered to give her the cheap champagne they serve for Sunday brunch because it was too much to open a bottle of their champagne by the glass. I understand that sometimes people are clumsy and make accidents, but our special occasion was really ruined by the lack of customer service, humanity and the fact that, at the end of the day, my order was completely wrong. It’s unfortunate, but I won’t be returning to Spark and I will not be recommending to any of my friends.

I must have driven by this place over 100 times and if it wasn’t for Unilocal’s 4 star review, I would of missed it again. Their menu is pretty flexible as they seem to have something for everyone. We tried their trout, fig/goat cheese pizza, and one of their burgers I just can’t recall now. As far as drinks, they offer a full bar which is always a plus. Expect to spend about $ 20+ per person by the time it is said and done but the valet was only like $ 3 which was great. If you are looking for something different, try Spark WoodFire Grill.

I’ve driven by here countless times and thought of putting it on my radar, but somehow never did. Quite honestly, whenever I’m in the valley, I end up eating sushi. An impromptu dinner over the hill and 1000 points on Open Table lured me in. Everything was nothing short of fantastic! Server Jordan, was awesome! The entire staff was cheering and welcoming when we arrived and as well when we left. It’s intimate and cozy and I envisioned myself coming back and having drinks and eating at impressively stocked bar. They had an impressive wine list. I rarely have 3 glasses of wine during the week with dinner, but there were so many I had to try with what we ordered. The food was very good! We got a green salad with polenta croutons, tomatoes, cheese and balsamic. It had a great flavor and went well with the bread and tapenade. Since they have a woodfire oven, of course we had to get a pizza! Sausage and peppers was amazing! Excellent flavor full of fresh ingredients with a surprising swirl of crème fraîche. The crust was crispy and thin –honestly a little too thin for my taste. It was close to paper thin and while I prefer a thin crust, this was a touch too much or too little I should say for me. Still, it was delicious. We were ambitious when ordering, so we also good the woodfired meatloaf, mashed potatoes and brussel sprouts. All excellent, but I was quite full after just a few bites. I would totally come back here. I’ve bookmarked a 10% off Unilocal deal for breakfast sometime in the future.

We’ve been coming to Spark for years. While the staff is always very professional… the food has recently become salty, salty, salty. And, some of our favorites items had significant flaws on our last visit: Tri-Tip: While it had great wood-char flavor, it was overcooked, and they missed medium-rare by a long shot — more like medium well at best. Potatoes were salty :-( Lobster Mac & Cheese: The lobster tail was nicely broiled, but the pasta was totally overcooked, the cheese sauce was very heavy on truffle oil, bread crumbs & salt. Would not order again :-( Lasagne: Although it’s rich, it’s become so salty we will not order again :-( Worst of all, we ordered TOGO, so there was no way of fixing any of it. We felt disappointed, and hesitant to order from them again.

Good stuff. Not pretentious, tasty, nice portions, a bit heavy in oil. Not blow your socks off, but reliable, yummy and filling.

Mmmmm I love this place! Been here a handful of times & the food/service is always outstanding. Last time I came here was for my mothers birthday, they gave us a great table near the window for people watching & the décor/lighting was very appropriate for the occasion. It was an intimate setting, & I appreciate that they keep the tables spread out enough for us to be able to have a nice conversation without everyone else being thrown in. The wait staff here is always great & they truely are very informed on their menu. I appreciate when they are making you genuine suggestions on what they think you’d like apposed to just offering the most expensive items as being«the best». Everyone’s food here was fabulous. We all ordered something different & Sampled each other’s. It shows how great the food is that everyone liked everything. I’ve found that almost everything here is worth a try, the pizzas, pastas, steaks, and seafood is wonderful, I’m sure whatever you choose will be great, no need for suggestions here.

Came in here on a Saturday night around 9. No reservations and inside was packed, but we were able to be seated right away in the patio under a heater. Our waiter Chris was incredibly polite and accommodating. I work in customer relations, so I always look forward to great customer service. The BBQ chicken pizza and Iowa ribs are really delicious too :)

We came in here on a Saturday night without reservations. They did not have any tables available but luckily a couple had just left from the bar and we were able to sit.(I would recommend reservations, because the bar is on the smaller side). There was only one bartender but he quickly greeted us and was very friendly for the duration of our dinner. I ordered the fig and goat cheese pizza and my husband ordered the pappardelle sausage pasta. Both dishes were really delicious. Although, I was a little concerned when I got my pizza because it is served on very thin, crispy crust, almost like a tortilla.(They do have an option to order hand tossed crust which I had overlooked.) However, while I am not usually a fan of thin crust, the pizza was actually exceptionally tasty and the thin crust worked well with the toppings. I would still like to try it again with the hand tossed crust. After our meal, we took a peek at the dessert menu and immediately knew we had to try the chocolate bread pudding. Good thing we did– it was GOOD! Would definitely come back, as there were a few other menu items I’d like to try.

I typically save five-star reviews for high, high end or mind-blowing experiences, but Spark deserves five stars for consistently excellent food, a relaxed(but cool) environment and great service. Every time I return to LA(where I grew up), I make a stop here now. I have to have at least one meal here. My first time, I was so blown away by the brussel sprout side that came with my short ribs that I had ordered an extra side of it before I had even finished!(It’s got bacon, parmesan and pistachios. It is insane. Best brussel sprout side anywhere.) On my last two trips, I had the lamb(very very good). Once with the brussel sprouts and charred broccolini, and the other with the sprouts and red wine risotto. Everything was excellent. I also highly recommend the ahi & avocado stack as an app, and the fork & knife salad, as well as the chopped green salad. When I can, I try to sit up near the kitchen so I can look through the glass and watch the staff cook and plate everything.

We ate here quite by accident last night, but were glad we did. Service was excellent and this place was packed at 9:00. I had a huge Spark Cobb salad full of rotisserie chicken, hickory smoked bacon, English cucumber, blue cheese, corn, tomatoes, sunflower seeds, avocado, and dressed with tangy buttermilk ranch dressing. We also had the Hickory smoked tri tip with shiitake mushroom sauce and roasted garlic mashed potatoes. Bread with olive tapenade is very tasty too. We ate going to try Spark for lunch.

For a while now Studio City has been having new eateries sprouting up left and right along Ventura. Even with the onslaught of new establishments, there’s several that have been going strong for a while now. Spark is located on one of the busiest parts of the Boulevard, however, it’s several blocks from the real hot spot for foot traffic. We showed up to Spark on a week night and the place was relatively quiet. We had a reservation and were given a table in front of the wine bar. The dining room is classy with white tablecloths and tall leather chairs. Neutral colors fill the space and give it a nice, classy feel. The menu here has American and Italian favorites that are nicely fused together. You have your choice of salads, pastas, pizzas, and plenty of full sized entrees including steaks and fish. To start things out I went with the fried calamari(tartar sauce and habanero vanilla bean vinegar). The calamari was fried nicely and the tartar sauce was great. The vinegar dip was hot and gave a nice kick that really surprised me. For my entrée I got our waitress’s suggestion — fig and goat cheese pizza(mozzarella, baby arugula, figs, goat cheese, and balsamic glaze). The pie came topped with tons of arugula(my favorite!) and big piles of delicious goat cheese(my other favorite!). I haven’t had figs in a while and I always forget how much I love them! These figs were fresh and tasty and the chef sure didn’t skimp on them either! For dessert, as if we hadn’t eaten enough already, we landed on the s’mores. This dish came in a tall jar with the three classic ingredients. The only downside was that it was served cold. Neither the chocolate, nor the marshmallows were melted and the graham cracker bits were far and few between. Spark served up a nice dinner and a great pizza below the normal prices on the Boulevard. Not to mention I was definitely happy with the suggestion from our friendly waitress and the leftovers were just as delicious the next morning for breakfast!

We recently found this little gem on Ventura Blvd, we drove by and wanted to grab something to eat so we came to this place and this is seriously one of the best restaurants you will find around here. The staff is so friendly and good here that it makes you more comfortable to be here and then the food… It’s amazing, the burger and BBQ pizza is my favorite, overall this a restaurant that I will always go back to and take my friends to.

Absolutely superb! Every time I visit my father out here in Los Angeles, we always make a point to come here for dinner. The atmosphere is cozy and romantic and the décor has a modern flare. The staff is amazing from the moment the valet parks your car and throughout the entire meal. I never know what to order as everything on the menu is great! My favorites are the spicy tuna tartare, crab cakes, grilled artichoke for appetizers and the halibut, lasagna bolognese, and sirloin steak as an entrée. I have never had their pizza but I know my father adores it. It’s as if the food is cooked especially for you every time. Oh, and the wine menu is pretty decent as are their cocktails. I’ll be back this summer hopefully during my next trip back out to LA!

I’ll start with the good — the service and the wine. Our server was very sweet and very apologetic — well she had to say sorry a lot becauase she had take my friend’s steak back TWICE. And the wine — Duck Horn Pinot Noir — SOGOOD. Too bad they don’t execute their food as well as the choices they made on their wine list. snap! The steak was a special. my friend ordered it rare. It came out medium. And the golden fries smothered in truffle, cheese and goodness were not even lukewarm. The server apologized and took it back. A new steak was presented… and it was beyond rare, like not even seared, not safe to eat… COLD. She apologized and took it back AGAIN. In the meantime I had my whitefish stuffed with crab… the fish was overcooked, did not break apart easily with my fork, it actually was tough in some spots… totally uninspired stuffed flounder that I could buy at Trader Joes. And I’d cook it better! The steak came out for the third time and it was rare… acceptable rare. But at that point the dining experience of the night was kinda ruined. Thank god for that beautiful wine! I’ve wanted to try this place for quite awhile… sad to say it was a disappointment and I won’t be back.

$ 5.95 for bottomless mimosas. See you later, Sundays. Wish I could end my review there, but I have yet to mention that the food really is not good. The whole party couldn’t finish more than half the plate. The homemade cinnamon bun was really just bad. Dry and dense. Great service, our glasses never went dry. Unfortunately, you have to order a breakfast entrée in order to get the bottomless mimosas. Shame. Despite the dreary food, the Brunch Brigade thoroughly enjoyed pounding mimosas in the morning light. Probably won’t return.
