I have never, ever, ever had a better cup of cold brew coffee. It keeps getting better and better. The suttle nuances of the grind is captured perfectly. Red Windows small footprint and independent feel makes it that much better. The coffee and the owner keep bringing me back. I love supporting this shop. I drive from Encino to Studio City to get my morning coffee. Never a bad morning. Go here if you want to support this lovely place and the FAR superior coffee to the corporate knock offs.

I REALLY want to like this place. As a Silverlake café owner myself I really appreacite fun and funky new ideas around twon not to mention around the world. The coffee they use is great(Four Barrel) but as in all café’s a LOT is up to the Barrista. Unfortunately, this is where it is hit or miss in this little joing. I have had two recent VERY watered down cappuccinos and any minor adjustmnet requests are welcomed, yet not performed. My last coffee was also warm, not even hot. Had I not entered my car while 3 other’s were waiting or I would have gone back requesting another. Great idea but needs a bit of work and more stable Barristas. YES, I agree with the below, the coffee lately has been watered down so they need to test their water temp and machine. I hope they polish up their coffee so the coffee tastes as great as the concept.- Tina

I had an iced coffee and requested minimal cream. I received an iced coffee with so much cream my coffee was white. The coffee itself was watered down. I thought it might have been because the the enormous amount of cream they added, but I tried my boyfriends regular drop coffee and his tasted like water too. Overpriced for the product we received.

I love this little place! Perfect addition to Studio City. I walk over and get the best almond milk latte I’ve ever had.

Cute shoe box sized coffee shop that delivers rich and foamy cups of lattes. Came early morning to try it out. No line so I guess I got lucky! My barista got to my order right away delivering a great cup of latte substituted with almond milk. Perfection in a cup. 4 stars because since I love extra large coffees and it seems that they only serve the standard sized cup of joe. Would come back if in the area for the quick service. Also Apple Pay accepted

This is a cool idea for a coffee place… It draws your attention immediately, that is, if you notice it. It’s gotten 4 stars from me based on the service. The barista was friendly and knowledgable in his craft. The coffee itself was okay. Just not somewhere I would interest myself in returning to. Small sitting area turns me off and just looking at the worker inside the small booth gives me anxiety. How can you sit in there… Seriously… I’m just gonna give you five stars for being a champ dude… I’m talking to myself. I’ll go now.

Parking around the neighborhood or meters on Ventura I had the cold brew here and it was definitely one of the better/best cold brews that I have had in a while. They use four barrel beans, so I guess I know what brand I need to try out next. As the pictures show, it is a small building(i.e. it is like a kiosk). They do have seating outside, so it makes for a perfect setting to sit in the sun and take in some of the sunny weather. Really enjoyed this place and will return!

Pretty pricey, but the quality is stellar as are the baristas that work there. The baristas will make you any drink you desire(within reason) even if it is not on the menu(e.g. cortado) and everyone who works there is SO refreshingly nice. Glad to support this adorable and deserving small business. If you have trouble parking, try behind Western Bagel across the street. P. S. The best sushi in the valley can be found right behind at Iroha. Great coffee and sushi? Sounds like the perfect L.A. day to me.

I just got cut in line for coffee by two middle aged white women. I actually shifted out of their way since I thought they were trying to walk through the line and was trying to be polite. They weren’t, they just stood in front of me in the space I created. I assumed they didn’t see me except they kept looking back at me while I was waiting patiently. Once the 20-something, white male barista was done with the couple he was helping ahead of us, I calmly turned to the women and asked if they had«pre-ordered» before standing in front of me in line. They moved to the side in shock, almost automatically, without an apology or a reply. I walked up to the bewildered barista who then asked the«ladies» if they were in line. His mind couldn’t reconcile the fact that I was the one who had been slighted in this exchange. Still silent I answered for them, I informed him I was standing in line, they walked in front of me and I would like a cappuccino. He then asked them if he could start their order as well. They placed it and everyone was silent throughout the palpable tension as he made all of the drinks. His hands shook as he made the drinks and handed me mine. I took it and left him a $ 1 tip since I’m not sure baristas make all that much. My mind couldn’t help but wonder if the positions were reversed would he have asked to make my drink at the same time as the people I rudely cut in line? Probably not. Would I have stayed silent and not apologized if I cut someone in like intentionally, or unintentionally(which I would never feel I had the privilege to do), once I was called out for it? Absolutely not. Will I be deemed the angry black woman who didn’t just stay silent while two white women cut me in line. More than likely. Is this a first world problem? Yeah, but for all of you people that state racism doesn’t exist I’d like to inform you it does and it’s even more insidious then you can comprehend. The coffee was decent so I’ll give it two stars. #institutionalracismlookslikethis #noapologyexpectedever

I love this little place. Their coffee is amazing and the service is stellar! They have a few little tables you can sit at.(Tip — Behind this place is Iroha — the best sushi restaurant for miles.) Cons: — street parking only(meter) — only one person usually works, so it can move slowly — pricey!!! I usually spend $ 5 for one coffee

This is an adorable little gem hiding in Studio City! I actually found it on one of my visits to Pressed Juicery a few storefronts down and bookmarked for another day. It’s nothing but a quaint coffee kiosk but since it’s a one man or woman show the service is excellent and the drinks are great! Apparently it’s own by an Australian couple, so they offer drinks«Aussie style» with a little chocolate powder sprinkled on top. I order a nice and simple latte and the lovely barista chatted me up as she made my drink. She was really warm and friendly, which goes a long way on an early morning, and my drink was made perfectly. Really wish I had one of these closer to my house because it would definitely be my go to spot.

If you ever want a perfectly made flat white, this is your coffee shop to visit. Although I haven’t tried anything else from there. i have been there more that 10 times simply for the flat white. This place is the smallest coffee shop I’ve ever seen. It’s almost hard to find it, until you do. There is usually plenty of parking off the street.

Red Window Coffee is probably the only place where you can find third-wave coffee in the San Fernando Valley. Wanderlust Creamery(artisan ice cream) in Tarzana just started doing pour overs and currently offering Heart Roasters out of Portland, Oregon(considered as the best coffee roaster in the United States). Then there’s 10 Speed Coffee out in Calabasas, who roasts their own beans. The only negative thing about this place is parking. If you can’t find park metered street parking, you’re out of lucky getting a coffee. The thing to get here is a flat white since this is an Australian-style nerdy coffee shop. Seating is on the sidewalk since the coffee shop is a window with just enough space for the employees to make your coffee. One of the Australian co-owners made my coffee when I visited. Along with a flat white, I was also able to get a 12 oz bag of Four Barrel Coffee of San Francisco for my Aeropress and cold brew making at home. They also had De La Paz coffee beans out of San Francisco. If you live in Studio City and love high quality coffee, why go to crappy, corporate Starbucks or Coffee Bean when you can support Red Window Coffee?

This place is a cute little red window coffee shop on Ventura Blvd. What I love most about this coffee shop is that they serve Blue Bottle Coffee! I think it’s the only place in the valley that serves Blue Bottle coffe. Makes me happy! I’ve tried the Flat White and the New Orleans Styled Cold Brew. Both drinks were nice and strong. One perfect for a cold day and the other perfect for a hot day. Only downside is that it is very difficult to find parking. Best bet is to come with someone who can drop you off and wait in the car and maybe circle around while you order your drink.

Apparently this place has been around for a long time but, I’ve only just noticed it in the last couple months so either I’m crazy or they did a major redesign. Either way(probably both), I’m so happy I noticed it because the coffee here is delicious and artful(yes, they do latte art). While I’m always going to opt for soy or almond milk in my drinks, my friends SWEAR by something called a «Flat White» so if you’re not a vegan, I think you should probably go for it. Pro: The staff is upbeat and personable. They seem like they actually LIKE their job, unlike many other baristas out there who make you wonder if you remind them of someone they hate. Pro: Even though it is just a little kiosk, they have sweet little tables next door where people can sit and enjoy their coffee.(That said, they could do better if they had more seating.) Pro: Impressive pastry selection if you are craving a little something sweet to nibble on. Pro: They offer Blue Bottle Coffee(A+) and cold brew coffee(cc: Lynette N!!!) Con: Prices are very high Con: Not enough seating Con: Parking is tough. This is going to be my go-to coffee spot from now on when I’m on that side of Coldwater. Which is often.

I’m so glad that the demand for high quality, independent coffee shops in the Valley is finally being met! Red Window is a wonderful addition to Studio City. I’m an Iroha regular so I love that Red Window is on the same property — it’s the perfect way to end a light lunch. After noticing the tiny space was under construction, I waited patiently for it to open and finally got around to stopping by last week. I ordered an iced flat white(it was a very hot day) and it was delicious — the beans were perfectly roasted, the milk was fresh, and it the ice to coffee ratio was ideal(you know how Starbucks and the other chains do that thing where your drink is 75% ice — not the case here, thankfully). Another huge pro is that it isn’t just a grab ‘n go coffee hut — there are little adorable spool tables in front of Iroha’s gift shop for people to stop and drink their coffee at, which I definitely plan to take advantage of. They also have an impressive array of pastries in their little display case, if you want something sweet to go with your coffee. This is a great little coffee shop! I highly recommend it, and will absolutely be a future regular.

Small window, big flavor! This is officially my favorite coffee place ever. And I drink a lot of coffee. I first tried Blue Bottle in San Francisco and fell in love with it there. Finally I have found it in LA and it’s just as good as I remembered. The red window is unique because it’s literally a small cube that looks like a pop up shop or a parking attendant box. Inside however they are brewing the best beans the city has to offer. They have other offerings as well like Clover pressed juice and some pastries but the real attraction for me is the coffee so I can’t comment on the other things. Just so you know they have them though! I had an almond milk latte and a regular drip on two separate occasions. Both are equally delightful. There’s no real parking lot even though it’s situated in a parking lot. You need to park on Ventura or put your hazards on like me and pull up in front. Just make a point to pull up! Trust me ;)

A tiny coffee shack along Ventura. Drinks are great and topped with«latte art». Prices are good. They offer soy and almond milk for an extra $ 0.50. We tried both and the almond won, which is very unusual. It’s much harder to foam up almond milk. The 2nd time we went, they were out of decaf. :( There are a few tables along the street that you can sit at if you want. Not much for treats/pastries — and of the few available, none are marked as vegan.

I wanted to give Red Window a fair chance before reviewing. They are located on Ventura Blvd and I’ve passed by this location at least once a day for nearly ten years. I’ve seen the space through plenty of change and this is the first time in YEARS I have been super stoked for its transformation. If you’ve lived in the neighborhood for as long as I have, you know and have seen this spot and know how fabulous this addition is. With the above being said, it was the Monday after Valentine’s Day weekend and my son and I were walking to the grocery store when I noticed Red Window was finally open :) What a treat! I could not and would not pass up the opportunity to try them. They serve Blue Bottle which isn’t a huge deal for me. I love it when I’m in San Fran and have been able to get my hands on it in LA but I don’t actively seek them out, so I’d be lying if I said them serving only Blue Bottle scored any brownie points with me, because it did not. Night one, I tried their cold brew and I LOVE cold brew. I won’t list my favs but I’ll admit I had not yet had Blue Bottles. I also love cold brew with almond milk, so that was definitely what I was shooting for first. They charge extra for almond milk, which in this day and age still surprises me since so many people do not drink regular milk, but fine. I do, but I also really enjoy almond milk. I didn’t ask the brand, which I should have. I personally really like Califa’s but I doubt that’s what it was. I wasn’t impressed with my cold brew almond milk latte, I didn’t finish it which is pretty unheard of and I was ready to give this spot 2 or 3 stars which I didn’t think was a fair review so I decided to try them a couple more times before posting. Since then, I’ve tried my first Flat White, which I must admit was sooooooooooooooo good! I don’t EVER drink whole milk, really you couldn’t pay me to and I see no reason for anyone over the age of 1 or 2 years old to consume it BUT I knew I wanted to try it as is, for the first time. The milk was pretty perfect, I must admit but I also knew going forward I would stick with non fat and hope it was just as perfect. I have now tried the flat white with non fat and it’s great! This is a great little spot to grab your favorite variation of espresso and a lovely addition to the neighborhood. The customer service has always been ok. Most of their business is coming from foot traffic it seems but depending on time restrictions I wouldn’t rule out driving here but my favorite valley coffee spot is closer to home which may be what would prevent that from happening. I plan to visit Red Window on my morning/evening walks and would definitely recommend them over any other coffee spot within a close perimeter of them. There’s really absolutely no reason to visit CBTL or Starbucks(EVER!) but especially not now with Red Window open.
