I was terrified about finding a new hair stylist when I moved to the area but couldn’t be happier about finding a new hair home at urban Trendz. All the girls are welcoming and truly care about your experience. Kristen has done an excellent job with my hair the past few visits! They use Redken products, a name I can trust! Would recommend to anyone.

Well apparently Urban Trends hair salon on 10351 Washington Avenue Racine WI53177 has so many high reviews on FB cause they delete all the true ones. I’m sure they didn’t like how many people liked my review. THEREFORETHEYDELETEDIT! The owner Joanne Peterman is beyond rude and has no business knowledge what’s so ever. Being over priced is the least of their problems. it seriously was not about their prices. I was double booked so they basically said sorry your going to have to get it done from another stylist but she’s a level higher then me so she charges double??? So instead of paying 80 it’s going to be 160??? I had a gift card so I didn’t care… But was pissed. Because it was their error and I was the one inconvenienced. So I call yesterday to talk to OWNER. She said well honestly it’s a bunch of he said she said… And you can take it up my manager since she was here that day not me. I said but you’re the OWNER… she said so? I said its your business … Your manager is the one I had the issue with so your her boss… You should deal with this… She said so when you go to McDonald’s and want to complain do you speak to the owner??? I said how is that even the same McDonald’s is a franchise your a small ass over priced salon… You’re ridiculous. Thennnn she pissed me off when she said the prices were discussed with you prior to doing your hair I make sure that my staff does that especially with your kind of people… Wtf is my kind of people suppose to mean??? She’s so lucky this was over the phone. Also I brought up I was quoted a certain price when I called and booked appt… She said you were also quoted when we changed stylist… you could of said no then. RESPONSETOOWNERSCOMMENT: Anddddd also my appt was at 11 and I arrived 10:45 … So that made me 15 mins early. The moment I arrived I was told I would NOT get my hair done because«whoever» booked it made an error. They should of never scheduled me… is what Jessica and Kori kept saying. Kori apologized for the inconvenience and she would do one color but not able to do what I initially wanted and was quoted over the phone. You state that if I have a concern about this issue to give you a call and that is exactly what I did in the 1st place. You insisted I talk to Kori because you didn’t have time for he said she said. I explained to you that I had an issue how YOUR manager handled this so as a owner you needed to handle this… You continued to talk over me asking me if I wanted to talk to Kori. Also I do suggest you do not let your personal feelings or judgments come out when you are running your business… on the phone you said YOURKINDOFPEOPLE… rather you meant cheap, annoying, Hispanic, ghetto etc etc it was an insult. I’m a college educated Latina who has a very well paying job. I had no problem paying if I would have received respect as a customer andddddd the color and style I requested and not just what you had time for due to your employees mistake. I explained to you on the phone any complaints should be handled by the owner. It’s your business your name on this … It directly effects you. Your employees can leave and find new jobs. They can care less how your business is ran. That’s why they complain about you when your not there(which I also thought was very unprofessional). I don’t understand why you keep saying all this surprised you. I explained allllll this over the phone. I also stated at the end of the convo before you hung up that I would make sure everyone knew what you said and how I was treated. I told you that many people already didn’t think highly of you or your business. That I have ran into previous employees who have bashed you and your business. Your response was there x employees for a reason so do what you have to do Vanessa! So all this should not be a shocker. So I think it’s fair to say that when you have a remedy to fix this situation you contact me. However I am happy your finally choosing to deal with my issue instead of Ignore it or pass it on to an employee. However I thinks it’s hilarious you continue to insult me.

Urban Trends is the only place I’ve gotten my hair cut in the last 3 years. Jean is fantastic and really knows her stuff. She keeps me up to date while paying attention to what cut flatters me the most. I’ve had a few massages that are pretty good too. The only thing I would criticize is that you can sometimes hear what is going on in the salon– but Christina is great!
