Best bagels in the area. Need I say more?

Hands down favorite bagel shop anywhere in NY/​NJ area. Bold statement? Yes. If your looking for more than 3 or 4 choices for cream cheese, you will only find the usual suspects here. Bagels made on premise and on point

I have two bagel shops in Waldwick and an even better one in Allendale but when I want good, old fashioned taste in a great bagel I journey on up to Suffern to Bagel Train.
Good, fast service, larger, crispier outside, reasonably priced and absolutely delicious. Just like the old fashioned products we used to get at bagel bakeries we patronized in Bronx and Brooklyn many years ago. Bagel Train has never lost it’s touch, always satisfies.

The lines for this place are always crazy and it gets cramped inside, but worth the wait. Best bacon egg and cheese I’ve ever had and I love getting their iced coffee!

Although bagel boys is right across the street from my job, every week I wouldn’t go anywhere else but bagel train. I’ve been coming here since I was 16 years old and they are still by far the best bagels I’ve had.
The place is small, but efficient. Some days are busier than others, but expect the parking lot to be packed especially if you go during the morning hours.
I always get a dozen and a half for work but my favorite is the whole wheat everything bagel with veggie cream cheese. I’ve come here for lunch for tuna or egg salad on a bagel as well. I have never been disappointed!

Living in this area for 15 years and after going to Bagel train countless times, 5 days a week to get my kids lunch and breakfast, the owner only acknowledges certain people, never smiles, 3 times I asked for a simple bagel with butter and get cream cheese. like really! oh and he makes sure to ask in front of some customers «did they pay»? Pretty embarrassing if you ask me!
So the bottom line is he is not worth my money so I will take it elsewhere. Pay attention to ALL your customer’s if it weren’t for us you would not be there–

Wow! Soft, delicious and fresh! Despite the fact that I drove 25 minutes for a bagel, so worth it. I wasn’t sure when I saw the location but the cinnamon raisin bagel and the snicker doodle coffee were great. I thought Rockland bakery bagels were good until I found this place. I’ll be back !

You know it’s going to be good when there’s a line out the door…
I stopped here after working up a sweat hiking in Ramapo County Reservation. After waiting in a fast-​moving line, I ordered a toasted whole wheat everything bagel with scallion cream cheese and an iced hazelnut coffee. All of it was top notch! The bagel was the perfect consistency, fresh, and flavorful, and I could’ve eaten a half gallon of the cream cheese easily (gross but true). The hazelnut coffee tasted like real hazelnut, rather than the super sweet, syrupy version in most flavored coffee.
Beyond that, I noticed an extensive choice in cold beverages and an almost (ALMOST) overpowering smell of delicious bacon. Which I resisted. THIS time. I’ll be back!

I just bought two dozen assorted bagels (for work). I am not a typical bagel fan, but these are truly excellent. I will definitely be returning very soon! They also have danishes, egg sandwiches, etc.

Oh my goodness, where do I start?! Their bagels are AMAZING. The place is so small and unassuming, and parking is a pain, but it’s so worth it. The line is often atrocious, but it’s just another sign of the greatness that is Bagel Train.
So affordable, especially for the amount and the taste… oh lawdy the taste. The fluffiness of their breads is like lying on a pillow of wheaty happiness, and just go well with everything they stuff into it. I’m sure Bagel Train could have some sort of unholy candy and fish filled bagel and make it taste good. I’ve never had a bad bagel from here.
One of my greatest memories is just eating a Bagel Train bagel on their windowsill on a rainy day, listening to the pitter-​patter of falling water, and the non-​talking among my friends as we all just chewed away… lost…in the dissipation of hunger and the flavor of bagel.
P. S. Don’t actually eat a candy and fish bagel. It was a joke. Stick to their menu.

This is my #1 go-​to bagel place. Staff is friendly and serves fast. There’s always a line from 7 am-​1 pm but don’t let it phase you because it goes quickly. The bagels are warm, soft, and out of this world. It’s impossible to want to be satisfied fully with any other bagel after trying Bagel Train. I usually order Taylor ham, egg and cheese with salt, pepper and ketchup and it always hits the spot, I definitely recommend it.

Best in entire area.
If they are available on top of the showcase get a bag of the bagel chips as well.
Breakfast sandwiches never disappoint.
They should start a franchise.

I’m a foodie and love to try all kinds of foods at different places. I think it’s great to try something new even if you don’t know how it will be.
Bagels is my only exception and at this place in particular. I don’t think I will try any other place in my area for breakfast sandwiches because I truly believe that I found the holy grail of bagels. I can say with confidence that it’s made of flour, water, and magic.

Let me start off this review by explaining my love for finding the perfect bagel. It’s been quite an extensive search-​one filled with sweat and despair. But alas, I have found the perfect bagel.
This bagel will only be found at The Train. It’s tender, chewy interior cannot be beat. The warm, crispy exterior shell is the perfect touch. But the combination of the two together is something I have never come across, in my 23 year long journey of bagel expertise.
The line is ALWAYS out the door. Accept it. Don’t complain about it. Of course there is going to be a shit ton of people huddled in there, after all, it IS the best place you can come across.
I am a food critic. And I do not throw out 5 stars because I’m nice. I award these fine Jewish owners and Spanish workers with the highest honor possible. I just wish the workers would wear different colors so I could easy tell who took my order.

I grew up across the train tracks from this place for over 13 years. I still visit this place as often as possible after moving to Warwick, NY.
They have the best bagels in the state! The line is always out the door. So worth the wait and the prices are great!

I went to bagel train for the 1^st time today because I heard it was amazing, and so HAPPY I did! The best bagel I have ever had in my life! I live in California and working here for 3 months on a volunteer project! So glad I tried it! Got a bacon egg and cheese breakfast bagel with cream cheese and jalapeño on a plain bagel! YUMM!!! Thank you so much for the great service also! Also not too expensive! Very affordable!

Never a disappointment with the bagels from Bagel Train. Step in, get in line, know your order, and enjoy! They have pumpernickel, cheese, plain, everything, cinnamon raisin, sesame seed… And if you need, all the fixings too.

Bagel Train is da bomb. If you don’t think so, you’re lying to yourself. The bagels are just right, not too soft but not too firm. I also really enjoy their vegetable cream cheese, its chunky and delicious. Its my go to on a plain bagel. It’s always packed too (which usually is a good sign to me). I typically come in the morning before work and seldom is the line not out the door. Please be aware that the parking lot sucks. Its real tight and awkward, accident provoking if you ask me.
The reason I do not give it a 5 star rating is because of the service. Majority of the employees that work here seem like they hate life. A few of the girls are friendly but for the most part you are dealing with someone that has a puss on their face. They also don’t listen to specifics. I ordered a well done salt bagel with butter today. No joke, they must have given me the least well done salt bagel they had. Its the little things that count, so they really need to do a better job of listening to the small details of an order.
Regardless, whatever they do when making those bagels makes my tummy happy. Keep doing it Bagel Train!

I can really only speak about the bagels here since thats all I usually get. Plain, everything, sesame and cinnamon raisin are all awesome and the cream cheese spreads that go on them are really good too. My favorite varieties are the bacon and onion, scallion and lox spread. Bacon, egg and cheese on a bagel or roll is another good option if you’re really hungry.
Don’t be put off if there is a line, the food is worth the wait.

I had such high hopes only to get back to work to eat my ham and cheese on a bagel and it was turkey and cheese. Boo to the lady who made my sandwich. Yes it was lunch time but it wasn’t crazy busy either. Sandwich was ok, guess when you get something your not in the mood for its hard to be excited about it. Plenty other delis in the area which will make a return trip harder for me. My one star is for the good bagel.
