This is our go-to place for take away Chinese food(they do free delivery). The menu includes typical Chinese cuisine plus some pan-Asian dishes including a decent sushi bar.

We love it here. Sushi is very good and priced very well. We order the sushi sashimi combo for 2 at least 3 x per month. Delivery is mostly very quick and they are very friendly. Just thankful that we have delicious sushi delivery in a place where a slice of good pizza is hard to come by.

I have came back to Jade Bistro a number of times since my last review. The staff knows my friends and I, as well as our typical orders off the bat. Customer service has always been good to us, especially since we qualify as regulars. Serving sizes are large enough we can split an entrée(often a plate of some sort of noodle) easily between two people and sparingly among three or more. Taste has never been lost and my friends are quite a fan of their liquor arrangement(plum wine especially). Prices are a bit high, but quantity has yet to drop. We have never left unsatisfied. I have ordered from here off GrubHub once. Delivery was very fast, and the duck rolls were very tasty. They were tiny, but man was the bird cooked well. Sushi was not the highest quality, and neither was the entrée. Delivery, unfortunately, was of lower quality to dining in. However, this has not deducted my ratings.

Super fast delivery! Sushi was good but not the type that my mouth waters. I had the volcano roll and the spicy salmon roll. I also order a side of hibachi rice and it was good but nothing outstanding.

I ordered sushi here only because my normal place(the small one with all the good sushi reviews on Unilocal) does not deliver. I was being lazy and didn’t feel like driving so I just picked the closest place that delivers to my house. While their online system was very easy and their service was pretty good here, the sushi was just not good. It did not taste fresh at all. The tuna tasted like the tuna you get at a cheap all you can eat buffet where it is pre-packaged, frozen and thawed out before serving. The quality of the rest of the fish was supermarket sushi, at best. In the future, I’ll have to just not be so lazy and drive down to the other sushi place whose sushi is always phenomenal. The price is about the same but the difference in the quality of their sushi is beyond measure. If I had never eaten at the other place, this review may have been better. However, if you’re going to serve sushi and your competitor, who is just a few miles away, has a far superior product, you need to step up your game and serve a better quality product yourself. I just hope this review doesn’t drive«too much» traffic to the other place because I don’t want them to run out of sushi for me.

Inconsistent at best. Jade started out two years ago with very fresh, good tasting food and has gone consistently downhill. The food is either greasy and/or the meats have a foul taste almost as if they are past their«good by» dates. Say good bye to this place and find another(and safer) place to eat.

Was looking forward to this place after reading multiple positive reviews. I figured I’d call ahead as my lunchtimes are usually shorter than I’d like. I called 3 times and couldnt get anyone on the phone so I drove 15 minutes to place my order in person. I walked in and there were two people at a table. The waitress was on the phone and the sushi chef was behind the bar prepping. He didn’t even acknowledge my being there. 5 minutes later, the waitress gets off the phone and takes my order. Chicken Pad Thai EXTRA spicy. She said 10 – 15 and it would be ready so I went out for a walk. 15 minutes later I get back and now there is 5 people in the place so it’s not too busy and I proceed to wait another 15 minutes. I get my food and get home to find no spice whatsoever in the food, no crushed peanuts which is a staple garnish on pad thai and a lime wedge that was so old and wrinkled to the point that when I squeezed it nothing came out, the skin cracked. Then I opened the little baggie containing a fork, spoon, fortune cookie and a napkin with a brown stain on it, looked like someone got a drop of coffee on it but who knows. I don’t want brown stuff on my napkins when I order food. I was dissapointed to say the least but I will say, the waitress was friendly despite answering phones, taking orders, ringing me up, etc. Place needs to hire more people. Not sure if I would try it again but I understand people have bad days.

The menu is large and the prices are very reasonable for the large amount of food you get both at dinner and lunch times. The sushi is made to order with fresh ingredients.

I ordered take out here earlier this week. Hot & Sour soup was excellent and so was the beef in red curry sauce. I called in the order within 10 minutes of arriving to pick it up and it was ready and still piping hot by the time I got home. I would have given 5 stars but I feel that they are way overpriced. I paid $ 20.00 for a small soup, egg roll and beef in red curry sauce. The portion was generous, but I think $ 20.00 is still way too much for what I ordered. I will definitely go back though. It’s high quality food and even though I think it’s overpriced it’s not overpriced to the extent of not going back. Beautiful restaurant on the inside too. Would like to come back with my wife and eat inside.

On the way home from nyc city and it being my 41st anniversary I decided on an early dinner here. my wife and I have been here once before and not too much has changed. my little cousin joined us today and she had orange chicken that was great, not overcooked and hard like some places but really nice mostly white meat in a typical but delicious sauce. I had thai mango shrimp that needed a little heat but with the fresh mango and well cooked shrimp it was good. My wife had her usual korean barbecue I call bul ko gi. barbecued beef that comes out sizzling with onions and mushrooms with just enough sesame. also a nice lo mein for all to share. While being a little pricey it was all in all really good. I cannot coment on the sushi but it looked fresh. The staff was attentive and obliging. If the prices were better it would have gotten the fifth star but todays climate demands high prices I guess just to remain in business. If your regular cheap chinese place has gotten boring I suggest spending a little extra and getting your moneys worth here.

Not the best sushi in the world(dragon roll was really subpar) but they have a great staff. They recommended me a sea breeze roll and I fell in love. The people were accommodating and friendly, and helped me out with my particular requests. Ordered twice, happy to do so again

I do actually like this place. I come here often with my girlfriend when i take her out to lunch on her well… lunch break. We usually get the 2 or 3 roll lunch special for their pretty solid and low price of 10.95??? i think thats it. I thoroughly going here to get my sushi fix when I am not in the mood to devour a school of fish in one serving at a buffet. This place will definitely do. I do not understand the lower reviews than a 3 star. But then again i’m looking at when they were posted and they have around 2 years ago. I DIDNTEVENKNOWTHEYSOLDCHINESEFOOD. I frequent this place often and the waitresses and staff seem pretty nice so i have no complaints here.

If you are in a hurry, try the take out. The food was very good albeit the service was pretty slow. It could be due to the fact the waiter was bar tendering as well. We were not in a rush so Jade worked out quite nicely. The portions were huge and the prices were reasonable.

I am surprised at the low reviews because I’ve always had positive experiences with Jade Bistro. Granted, I’ve always had the food delivered & never tried the sushi, but still… I found what I’ve tried to be quite good & the delivery swift & friendly. At my workplace, both customers & employees order from here quite often. If it is a large order, they will throw in a free meal or some extras. The delivery people are always friendly, smiling & accommodating. My go-to order, the spicy eggplant & tofu dish with brown rice, is always delicious with the tofu perfectly done. I don’t order from here all that often(who can afford takeout these days?), but I’ll be happy to continue to give this place my business on occasion.

I decided(against my better judgement) to try the sushi from here since there is a lack of sushi delivery in Rockland. I read the previous reviews and thought maybe the sushi would be ok, although I’ve learned many times over that there is a lack of quality sushi in the suburbs and most of what’s available caters to those who care more about having spicy/crunchy/fruit with their sushi and less about the quality. I was wrong(that the sushi would be ok). If you are a serious sushi fan, skip this place. I ordered a piece of roe and 2 rolls(the naruto roll and the mickey roll). A lot of the rolls on the menu are gussied up with spicy/crunchy/other crap that has no place in a good sushi roll(it kills me to see mango offered on sushi.). The roe was quite fishy tasting and smelling(typical of most local places sadly) but it was also slimy. When I picked up the piece, the rice on the bottom was wet with roe juice of some sort. I’ve never found that before and having eaten roe at Yasuda in NYC a month ago(for the 3rd time), I know it shouldn’t taste fishy or be slimy. On to the rolls. The menu didn’t mention that the Naruto roll comes wrapped in cucumber only, no rice. The menu describes it as: White fish, tuna, salmon, avocado and tobiko with ponzu sauce. There was a fair chunk of salmon and tuna with a tiny sliver of white fish around the outside, all wrapped around a small hunk of avocado. The roll was rather wide and awkward to eat since it was both big and not sturdy due to the cucumber. The fish and cucumber were both tasteless. No wonder they give you ponzu sauce with it. Normally I wouldn’t douse my sushi with sauce, but in this case, I made an exception. The Mickey roll was a step up only because it had rice. It had spicy tuna inside which was so chock full of panko that the fish wasn’t moist at all. I couldn’t believe how much panko was stuffed inside with the fish, either. It’s nice when a sushi roll is half fish, half panko. There was no taste to the filling and the yellowtail on top smelled fishy(ie, not fresh). The black tobiko on top looked pretty but was equally tasteless. All of the fish was bland and some of it had an off smell(the roe and the yellowtail). Both rolls looked beautiful, but who cares how nice something looks if it tastes bad(or tastes like nothing)? At $ 24 plus tax and tip for lunch, I would have been better off getting sushi from the grocery store. The quality would have been the same at a third of the price. I’m not sure how the rest of the food is at this restaurant, but frankly I wouldn’t even try it based on the sorry state of their sushi.

I am going to have to agree with the last review. I like it better before the change, Japanese is ok… actually the sushi and lunch boxes are pretty good… But seems that the Chinese has gone downhill slightly. Still better than Jumbo. But the staff friendliness and portions have gotten smaller and the price much higher. I take number one kitchen over here in terms of Chinese believe it or not. Japanese however is not bad at all and on par with some of the Japanese Restaurants in the area. Overall it is a reasonable place to take the family to dinner. Japanese is superior to some of the local PAN-ASIAN shops but the value and Chinese have taken a small hit. Hopefully this will be fixed :)

While the food is as tasty as I remember when I was a resident of Suffern, there are a few things that will prevent me from going back. 1) Long gone are the complimentary bowls of crispy noodles with duck sauce and mustard… We asked for some and the waiter tossed down a few pre-packaged«to go» bags… Somewhat awkward since we had no bowl to put them in, we opened a napkin and dumped them out. 2) The prices have definitely gone up and the portion size down… $ 32 for a whole Peking Duck was not too outrageous, but the waitress had no idea how to serve it. The noodle dishes were very small. Although the«cup» of hot and sour soup was delicious. 3) We often remember receiving a warm greeting from the owner(she was not there), along with complimentary ice cream(albeit, if you spent enough on dinner) at the end of our meal. We had ordered two ice creams and shortly thereafter, as they were bringing our check, we asked for another one for our infant son. The promptly took the check back to tack on one more. At $ 4.00 a piece, I felt cheated. With 4 beers(@$ 4) and 1 Mai Tai(@ $ 7), the bill came to $ 119.00. Eeek, that seemed to be a lot for Chinese food! I guess the owner has to make up the money for the renovations some how. I just wish they had never changed to begin with. Fancy décor does not do it for me; good value is key. I am sorry to say that I will have to keep my fond memories of Oriental Garden as just that, memories.
