I’ve missed authentic Mexican food since I have moved back from San Diego and now I know that La Hacienda is the place to get it. The waiters are super fast and professional. The guacamole is awesome and made right in front of you. The food is tasty and authentic. The prices are reasonable for some things and not so reasonable for others. They have a really good variety of food. I really enjoyed my experiences here and definitely will be coming back for more.

Excellent food. We’ve returned several times and we don’t live close. It can get busy but the many servers are always attentive. Shrimp cocktail is amazing. Roving guitar player — always asks if its your cup of tea — if not, moves on. I find it nice. A little patience is needed for parking on the street, or a walk, but something always opens up.

True real Mexican food and environment! Love getting the chicken quesadillas. They also give you a lot of chips, guacamole, and salsa. They make the guacamole right in front of you which is great!

It’s a shame bc the food is pretty decent. The service is hands down the worst. Rushed, inconsiderate, and forgetful. Go to Olé Olé or another place near by.

I thought the food and service was very good. The flan we had was by far the best any of us had ever tasted.

This place is awesome. All I can say is that if you’re looking for a true, authentic Mexican restaurant where the food and atmosphere are great and the staff is super friendly, then this is the place for you. Be sure to ask for Antonio! He makes great margaritas :-)

This might be one of the worst Mexican food I have ever had. Service n food both not worth it. Taco Bell is better!!!

We had lunch here recently. I had the chicken soup which was pretty good. The salsa and chips are good, especial if you ask for the extra hot salsa. Definitely will come back.

Everything I have eaten here is delicious; love the guac. Staff is super friendly. Margaritas and Mojitos are phenomenal.

The best authentic Mexican food in the area. The guacamole is made fresh and they serve only the finest Tequila from Mexico. Ask for Nachos Margherita’s you won’t be disappointed.

Came here with my good friend for dinner. We love good Mexican food but can be picky(she is Hispanic and I grew up in California). The food was ‘OK’ as far as Mexican food goes. I had combo #1 — Burrito, Tamale & enchilada in red sauce. The tamale was flat out dull and mushy, the burrito was run of the mill as was the enchilada. Margaritas are not my favorite so take this with a grain of salt but it was also ‘meh’(I prefer my tequila neat but was in a margarita mood). Overall the food wasn’t the worst I have had and certainly not the best. It was the service though that really ruined the evening. Really bad but at least it was consistent. As soon as we sat down our server wanted to know what appetizer we wanted and what drinks. This is before we even opened the menus«immediately». We told him maragritas and that we needed to see the menu, We were nice about it too. It was odd to be rushed but hey, maybe service is super fast here. Nope — waited FOREVER for the drinks to arrive(another server) and then the drinks were DONE by the time we realized we needed to ask for our server because he was nowhere to be seen. Other table were seated and received their meals before our order was taken. The attitude we got from the servers is best described as «i hate this job». It wasn’t personal, just an overall crappy huff. I realize that idiot customers can provoke bad attitudes, so let me be clear, I work in customer service so I am super empathetic to anyone who deals with people. I just want my meal delivered with minimal drama all around. Not happening here. sigh. Suffern has other Mexican restaurants so this one is off the list permanently.

So much potential here. Visited this restaurant on a business trip. Staff is in need of professional training to improve service ultimately leading to a stellar customer experience. When you get the same look from other tables its a big problem. Posting in hopes the owner reads this because the small training investment will pay dividends immediately.

I’ve been coming here for 20 years… and have never been disappointed. I still think it is the best Mexican food in the area!

We came here for lunch and the food was extremely bad, not to mention we waited a very long time for the food to be delivered and the waiter never brought us our tabs. The food tasted old and the chips were stale, $ 40 plus tip to feed 2 adults and 2 toddlers and feel disgusting afterwards.

UPDATE #2. 7÷25÷15 I tried this place again. I must say I see an effort being made for the service end. The service wasn’t perfect this time either but still much better than last time. The place was packed so I can understand spotty service especially when I could clearly see the sense of urgency in the staff was definitely there. The food was fabulous as always. Whoever is running the kitchen certainly knows what they are doing. I highly recommend the Chilaquiles and the Bistec Azteca. The service could still improve but I see effort being made in that direction. So I will be back.

This used to be one my favorite Mexican restaurants! I’ve been going for years with my family and the service only disappoints me every time I go back. I went in Father’s Day which is a busy day, I understand, but it took at least 30 minutes before we ordered our food. It took another 35 – 40 to get our food. We asked for refills and hot sauce which we never got. I then stopped by for lunch on a Tuesday thinking the service would be better since there were about 5 tables. Nope, the server barely checked on us and it took 20 minutes after he took our plates to get our check. The food is delicious I love it! But it’s not the way it used to be.

Menudo is great!!! Portion size is good and bathrooms are clean! Nice use of decorations and the chips and salsa are good! What else could you ask for? Leave a good tip for the hard working staff!

Came here for lunch for the first time early May… As did everyone else lol food was great. The table side guac was awesome no one got drinks and the price was inexpensive. Today I’m grabbing lunch and doing take out. There’s plenty of street parking and the guy who took my order was nice. This place is officially in the office what to grab for lunch chat and it hasn’t disappointed !

Went here on 30 May 2015 with a group of 13. We had made a reservation in advance, even called to confirm said reservation, and yet we were forced to wait an hour to be seated in the(non-air-conditioned) lobby as other patrons squeezed by us on their way in and out. When we were finally seated, we were placed at tables that had been unoccupied for almost the entire time we were waiting. «Fire hazard» definitely comes to mind when one considers the arrangement of the tables we were sitting at, with barely enough room for even the skinniest in our party to squeeze out of the booth(read: death trap). After being seated, it took nearly 30 minutes for our orders to be taken(we were all ready to order as most of us had memorized the menus prior to being seated after reading them for an hour). In addition, though there might be some drought of which I am unaware, water seemed to be scarce, and it took many a request before water was finally brought to the table. When our food finally arrived, several of the dishes did not match what was ordered — which would be understandable if it weren’t for people in our party having allergies — and there was at least a 10 – 15 minute period between the first member of the group and the last member of the group receiving their food. The food actually tasted pretty good, but I’m not sure if that was because it was objectively good or because my blood sugar was at a critically low level by the time it came out. After speaking with the manager(I think that was her title), we were assured that she«would do something» for us. Our group was offered a free round of margaritas. Too bad not everyone was 21… Ultimately, we ended up receiving a discount on the meal. This was a good gesture on the part of management, but the experience had already been ruined. All of the foregoing in mind, it is important to note that the wait staff and management were polite and respectful to our group. In general, the problem seemed to be a logistical one. Though I cannot attest to the restaurant’s level of service for a smaller group or on a less-busy night, I will say that large groups should consider patronizing another restaurant.

Decent mexican food I’ve been here several times. The salsa and chips are consistently the highlight of the visit. The entrees are pretty good. On my most recent visit I ordered enchiladas verdes. While overall the food was good, the beans were a bit watery and the enchilada itself was fairly soggy. The service on this occasion was subpar. The restaurant only had a few tables with customers and yet the waiter still couldn’t keep up. We waited about 10 minutes to receive the check and then had to bring it up to the cashier ourselves. –1 star Overall, there are better mexican places in the area and service is spotty, but Hacienda is a good spot in a pinch.
