I kind of can’t believe that I haven’t written a review for this place yet. Over the last 1.5 years, my husband and I have been living in Sugar Grove while I finish out PA school. The library was my place of choice because it is usually quiet and is a pretty controlled environment. It’s really nice that it has this coffee shop on the inside. On more than one occasion, I have had their soup or coffee or café treats while studying. While the name slips my mind, the owner is very nice and always waves at me on my way into the library. I guess that’s what you get for being a «local» at the library. My only complaint is I wish it were open earlier. Sugar Grove is lacking a coffee shop that opens early enough. Unfortunately, 7 am is just not early enough for me to grab my coffee and make it to work by 8 am.

This is also known as Java Plus… I have been here so many times this past year and it’s very friendly. Mike the owner is a pleasure to talk with and has so many things to offer at his café. They now serve Gelato!. have apple cider donuts straight from the apple orchard(yummy), a variety of snacks, soups, sandwichs, and of course a plethora of coffee drinks, smoothies, hot chocolates, teas, etc. There are so many things they offer but you really have to look. Prices are normal like other coffee shops. It’s a small place but since it’s in the library if you want to sit in the comfy chairs, the sun porch, or outside you have those options too. The only thing I don’t like are the cookies… they look good but I didn’t like them at all(even threw them out aftering taking a bit). The coffee definitly wakes me up so it’s a great place to go for a little jolt. Support this local place over starbucks! They also have free wi-fi and if you have work to do, you are at the library so you can scan and print things if you need to as well.

Very good café. I got a pulled pork sandwich, which was as good as it gets. I’d go back for it! My fudge brownie was to-die-for. A quick online search showed that this place is run by or supplied by the Catering Gourmets. No wonder their pulled pork is so darn good. In fact, everything looked professional. The whole place smelled delicious, like coffee and coffee fixins. I can’t wait to come back for some in the morning. The décor was urban and comfortable. I find the location in a library to be quaint. The young girl at the counter could use some customer service training. However, there was also a gentleman present who was excellent. This place should market itself more! The local community college nearby would be a great place to start.

I have to say this is the best place for Moms with little ones. Grab a coffee and walk your way to the library. The coffee is delicious. I had the iced coffee and it was soooo good. Love love love this place.

A search for a café with WiFi in the area led me to The Book Nook Café. I didn’t know it was actually located in the Sugar Grove Library. Fortunately, the café has different hours than the library, so I was able to sit in the café before the library opened. The café itself is very tiny: it looks like… a café in a library. Coffee, tea, and smoothies are available as well as breakfast pastries, sandwiches, and other little things to snack on. A seating area with a television is off to one side, and bookshelves are scattered about with different things to read. A few tables of varying heights are available — after I arrived, all the tables were full. I ordered a vanilla frappé($ 4 – 5) and a slice of cherry coffee cake($ 2) upon my visit. The cake was too moist and flavorless, and the frappé was just OK. A bit disappointing, but I wasn’t really expecting Starbucks. At least there’s a spot like this in town to sit down with your laptop and a cup of coffee!
