Where to begin. I went into the store wanting to buy a PS3 and a few games with it. Easy enough right? Well it was that day. I went ahead and bought a PS3 bundle with MW3 and a few other games. Heavy Rain, Dead Space 1 and 2(Second was new) and all of the God of Wars. Went home, set everything up and it was awesome. Later, I realize that they have a Drakes Uncharted PS3 bundle which I would rather have over the one I was sold and their online website said that they had it in stock! So I go back explain my situation, tell them that I wasn’t informed of the other bundle and that I would just like to exchange it. Nope, not happened, I was turned down since the system had already been opened. Darn, thats okay I suppose. My fault for jumping the gun. I also wanted to exchange my Dead Space 1 and 2 for Drakes Uncharted 1 and 2. Well supposedly the new Dead Space 2 I had bought was a «Display Copy» since it had no shrink wrap on it. I told the lady at the counter that I wanted to return it and she said: «Since it’s new you would have to trade it in» despite the fact that it had no shrink wrap the begin with. I told her this and she tossed out a «Sorry mate, corporate rules.» Bleh, disgusting taste in my mouth. Anyways, in the end, I took the hit, traded in Deadspace 2. In the end, I ended paying a bit more. If you want to go to a Gamestop, please go to the one in First Colony Mall. MUCH better customer service. –Amber’s husband

Corporate closed down this location. Sorry to see them go. There are 2 other locations in Sugar Land — one on the 6 in a strip mall by Walmart/across from HEB and the original location closer to the First Colony Mall.

As a gamer and part-geek, I really like this store. I can always find what I am looking for whether it be a game system, games, accessories for game systems, or whatever else I may need in this line of interest. They have some good deals going in that you can trade in your old games for new ones. Also worth looking into is the PowerUp Rewards Card that will give you points based on what you buy. Some purchases will give extra points. It’s a cool deal. The store is well stocked, although around the holidays items can sell out quickly depending on what you are looking for. This is understandable and in no way is a strike against this place. The staff is very friendly and helpful and glad to assist in any way, whether helping you locate a game in this particular store or calling another to find it. I’ve never had any problem with any of the sales people being pushy or trying to get you to buy extras. The store is clean and organized. I always find something here and I’ll come back regularly for more of my gaming needs.

It’s a game stop… so it’s a 3. What makes it a 4 is because I can usually go and play rock band or guitar hero to my hearts content. Been a while since I’ve been there, but I’d basically agree with everything Alex R. said about the place.

I have to say I am not a huge gamer, but I still game. I have been a long time shopper at this location, the people know me and I can trade in my old stuff for new stuff and when I actually want a game once in a blue moon, I am a little excited actually to drive here and pick it up. The employees are super helpful with all your questions and are super friendly. They make a great environment which keeps me coming back.
