I was in town for the holidays and was hoping for a chance to get in some training. I messaged Brian and he told me to come in for an open mat. It was great, everyone was nice, and I got some tough rolls in (Brian is a beast black belt). I went both the day before and after Christmas for the open mats. I’ll definitely be back!

Looking for an excellent women’s BJJ program? Look no further than Gracie Barra Sugar Land. This academy has many women and children enrolled. The professor who owns this academy has created an environment that is friendly and safe for women to train. The higher belt women there are welcoming and generous with their time and talents, and have made me feel right at home. The class schedule is so varied that no matter what hours I work, I can easily find a class to attend. Enrolling at GBSL is money well spent — come for the safety of learning self defense, and stay for the fitness and the fun!

This is my extended family! A place where we can go and receive training in a beautiful art that promotes respect, discipline, self confidence, and kindness. Professor Brian exudes all of these things and inspires me to be better in every aspect of my life by his own examples. So much love and respect for this establishment I am blessed to have found it!

I recently visited for the Women’s Self Defense Classes. We are very impressed with the class and instructor Brian. The studio is very clean and we are learning a lot of great moves to possibly help save our lives. Brian is very patient with the everyone from the kids to the adults. He makes sure that we are understanding the moves and able to perform them correctly. Plus it is great fun! I would recommend checking them out as they have several great classes for all levels.

I participated in a Women’s Only Self Defense Class at Gracie Barra Sugar Land which is offered the 1st, 3rd, and 5th of each month. Hands down, the best class I’ve ever taken.
Brian, the owner, is awesome. He’s funny, well spoken, and fun. Don’t let his intimidating looks fool you! He instructs a defense move with a female partner (victim) which makes it realistic to those in that situation. He repeats the defense move and puts you in the situation again and again until you are comfortable defending yourself. I can’t wait to attend more classes and become comfortable with defending myself in the scenarios (realistic) he put us in!
GB Sugar Land is BEAUTIFUL. Its clean, has two super nice restrooms and everything is immaculate.
There is a nice viewing area if you’d like to put your kids in their Little Champions classes! Brian makes it fun for the kids and it never seems like «work» for them. Your kids will flourish under his guidance.
This is the place to be if you are in the Missouri City, Richmond, Sugar Land, Stafford, Alief, Rosenberg, Sharpstown, Sienna Plantation area. He has ample parking and the space is gorgeous!
The instruction is hands down the BEST. As someone who spent 7 years as a Navy Officer, I would definitely recommend Gracie Barra Sugar Land!!!
