Ordered some take out food, got some grocery.
1. Food was a bit spicy but very good. We liked the kadhi pakora and pakoras very much. The chat was a bit spicy and not that authentic. Its ok though.
2. Grocery is well organized and very good location.
The only negative I see the store is not very clean. A cleaner store and I would have given 5 * for this.

The name is a bit misleading, but what a hidden gem! Small market with an excellent selection of Indian food products (including snacks and spices) and a carryout window in the back where you can order a variety of delicious vegetarian Indian cuisine.
We came in search of products but the food smelled great and the prices were very reasonable so we had to stay for lunch! The selection was a bit daunting, but the older gentleman was very helpful in explaining what everything was and hooked us up with samples. Everything we sampled and the food we ordered — garlic naan, paneer tikka masala, dal fry and aloo mutter — was so flavorful and perfectly seasoned!

I saw other reviews and popped in to try this hole in the wall place (literally) for chaat. The food is so tasty and authentic down to fresh chopped green mango pieces as garnishing. Amazing!

As far as the food prepared in the kitchen is concerned. it’s simply awesome. from samosa to daal vada and parathas to lunch plate is simply amazing. It reminds me of home cooked meal. Priced just about right. for $ 5.99 you get a lunch plate with 2 curries, 4 chapati or a naan, pickle and papad… very affectionate people as well. love eating there!
Grocery I think is a little expensive.

I’m reviewing the little Café in the back, this is also a small grocery store I didn’t explore.
I ordered the puri puri I believe it’s called. I would describe them as Indian nachos. There are several puffy crunchy «crackers». She poked the top of them and added the toppings. I believe they were tamarind sauce, raw white onion, garbanzo beans, cilantro, I think there was a little potato, yogurt, and crunchy savory «sprinkles» on top. It was like a Symphony in my mouth. The lady kept asking me was I sure I wanted this. I laughed and said yes. She still seemed hesitant but smiled and continued preparing it.
I think everything is vegetarian. She asked if I wanted medium or spicy. I don’t know what spicy is at this place so I went with medium. Looking back jalapeños would work with this dish.
Great service in the kitchen and at the front cashier. The puri puri was 4.99 and I got 2 samosas for 0.75 each, for the drive home at the end of the day. They were great.
I will definitely be back. I came here for lunch during the work day. The food was good, but with those onions I refused to speak for the rest of the day.

Very nice staff at the kitchen. I asked what kind of curries they had since I’m not familiar with the names without English translation lol and the lady said, here, let me give you to try. I thought I was getting a small tsp to try or something instead she gives me a plate of about iuno 7 types of curry that filled the plate up.
I liked all the curries but the one I ended up with was the paneer tikki masala. The cheese is soft and I almost thought it was tofu for a second. Got the large for 10 bucks which I thought was fair. I can easily get this 8 bucks somewhere else but I don’t think it’s as good as this place.
Grocery has all kinds of goodies like ice cream, yogurts, nuts. Definitely coming again in the future if I ever need stuff to make like desserts.

Excellent food, great proprietor, warm staff! I love this place! When the Great W’kana flunked we went here and did take home. I did my shopping and we ate very well!

Decent sized grocery adjacent to a random gathering of businesses (orthotics, insurance, pharmacy, and a place called techno chaos.) off hwy 90 in just down the road from Telfair. I was excited to see another indian grocery open in Sugar Land, especially coz they serve hot food.
At the kitchen area there is a white board (that is placed very high up and not comfortable to stare at) with a large menu of curries, breads and chaat. I stood around for a while before a fellow shopper handed me a different menu, stating that items served change regularly.
We ordered several items including a «lunch platter» although this was at dinner time ($ 6.99) which comes with your choice of two curry/​veggies, naan or rice, papad, and onions. I was thoroughly impressed with the samosas ($ 0.75 to go/​$ 0.99 dine in). It’s flatter than most samosas I’ve seen, but I am in favor of the potato to crispy shell ratio. The potato filling is perfectly spicy and if you «dine in» it comes with two chutneys. Also tried the dahi puri ($ 4.99) which satisfied my craving for puri! It was larger than expected too, good for sharing.
Three small tables are available for diners here, but during the course of our meal there was a steady stream of people ordering and all were for take out.

This store was the life of a shopping center full of doctors’ offices on a Saturday afternoon. There was a lot of customer traffic. The staff is very friendly. While gawking at the array of spices, a man asked if we needed help. They have a nice produce area. There was a strange-​looking squash called «snake gourd» that I’ve never seen before.
I came mainly to try the samosas but found myself buying the 50-​cent tandoor naan. The naan was hot and fresh. It was sooooo delicious, easily ranking as one of my best naan experiences ever. At 50 cents per huge round slice, it definitely ranked as the CHEAPEST naan by far. Indian places in Austin usually charge around $ 2 for each of those slices. We took some home and even my father-​who-​hates-​trying-​new-​things loved it and asked where the store was located so he could go back on his own.
Indian Spices and Snacks is located about 0.1 north of the Walmart complex at the Hwy 6 and Hwy 90 intersection. It faces Hwy 90 and is right across from the Nalco chemical plant.
The samosas were only 75 cents each and are a fair price but they are kind of flat and not as filled with stuffing as I prefer. I’ll definitely come back for naan. They also had bulk gallon+ containers of unique ice cream flavors sold.
The menu is pretty extensive for a market café. They have a huge variety of chaat. I can’t wait to try some next time.

There are few things that will actively draw me out of the center of Houston. Cheap lampshades at Ikea, eyebrow threading, Baklava at Phoenicia, Gulab Jamun, Dosas, Idli, Sambar, Fish Curry, and Naan. (Do you notice a trend that developed there?) There are more, but I won’t go into my NYC adventures (art, shopping, and croissants).
A Unilocaler posted a picture of an order window with a list of lotsa naan, and I read another who mentioned spices. I couldn’t get to my car fast enough.
The one thing I noticed as I passed by Hilcroft on 59, Sugar Land is quite a bit farther than I remembered from when I was a kid. Fortitude, patience, and the promise of a wide variety of Naan held me fast. And it was worth it.
Slightly across from the old Imperial Sugar factory, and in an office building sort of setup, is where I found this grocery. There’s a giant dry erase board with a list of quite a number of things and signs on the window with a few items (such as roti) already pre-​packaged and waiting. Then there’s the paper daily menu. Not everything listed above (no matter how many times I looked at it) was available.
Since I wasn’t there to eat, I just stuck with Naan, Roti, and a Samosa. The latter was to ease myself into the long drive home. Had my cohorts been with me, we would have crowded around one of the few tiny tables on either side of the window in the wall. Yes, they provide tables, but I think it’s more of a pick up and head home type of set up.
I looked around, but wasn’t really impressed with the spice selection. There’s a place in NYC that has ruined me for all other spice aisles. They package a plethora of spice mixes (no salt), and I can’t find anything even remotely comparable in Houston. Or it’s surrounding townships.
My Naan was freshly baked, so after eating my samosa in the car park, I tore a chunk off (two for $ 1) and dipped it in the fantastic sauce that came with the samosa. The samosa was good, but I prefer a bit more spice.

Good selections of subjis I recently moved to TX. I was looking for store who carries fresh veg. So far I found this place to be the best for veg. Also they have good variety of spices and other Indian grocery. Small takeout place has good variety of snacks also. So far I likened their undhiu, khandvi, gujarati dal. I have tried only gujarati dishes so far.
Ok I bought bag of wheat flower it had bugs in it. Yuck!!! Had to throw it away. Do not buy flour there.

I drive by this place at least once a week. I did not know there is a fast food counter inside the grocery until I read the reviews in Unilocal.So, I decided to give it a go today. I picked up a pack of parathas, Rotis, and ordered garlic Naan, tandoori naan, and samosa to eat at home. I waited for the chef to make my fresh naans and check out the hand written menu. The daily lunch plate is listed at $ 5.99 with several selections and I will return to try. My aluminum wrapped hot naans were ready in 10 minutes. I tasted everything at home. The garlic naan has pieces of garlic and green onions in it. It has a little kick to it, love it. The tandoori naan and paratha were very tasty too. The roti was ok, problably because I was tasting it next to the amazing naans and paratha. The samosa was huge and filled with potato and other vergies. It was so good. I plan to try other naan flavors, espcially pinapple on my next visit.

Nice chat place. Good collection of everything. Don’t buy Dosa batter here, some times it could be taste bad. Good collection of movies but bit expensive to buy a DVD. Overall a good Indian Grocery Store.

Just the right size for an Indian grocery store. They keep adding to the selection (I just saw some freshly packed, local organic plantain chips I had never seen before). And the kitchen near the back makes to-​order fast snacks and small meals. My favorite Asian grocery in Sugar Land. Recommended.

The first thing I noticed as I approached the front door was a huge rodent trap. It would be naïve for anybody to think that Walmart, HEB, Randalls, Whole Foods, Fiesta, et. al. don’t have/​need a pest control program, but the rodent trap by the front door was, well… unexpected, to say the least. On the inside of the wall where the trap was located there were sacks of grains, rice and the like. It explains the location of the trap. I don’t think I will be buying any bulk items there.
Critters and vermin aside, this little grocery store is nice. Items are orderly, well organized and the selection is varied in relation to the store’s size. there is a small fruit/​veggie stand as well as a frozen/​refrigerated section. I randomly checked items for freshness and on every single one the exp date was at least a year away. Additionally, they have a pass thru kitchen (no tables) where you can get some delicious and cheap food. The samosas are truly the best I’ve had in Houston. Other items I ordered: 1) Biryani, a rice and veggie casserole. 2) malai kofta, veggie dumplings in curry sauce 3) Lauki ka Halwa, a dessert made with bottle gourd, a type of squash 4) samosas, did I mention how good these were? I do not like spicy food and while my selections were rich and provocative in flavor, I did not find them offensive or upsetting to my tummy. I’m going back. .
The staff was helpful and polite and I thought the prices were reasonable.

I have known Bharat Patel, the owner, for over 10 years. He used to own Asian Market in Sugar Land. When he sold it a few years ago, we missed his personal attention to all our produce and grocery needs. Back then and even now, Bharat will order something right away from the local distributor and have it in the next day.
I went here this morning to pick up some snacks for my afternoon chai. First I went to the kitchen in the back. They have a counter where you can buy and pick up a meal, snack or to go containers. There is a scattering of tables where one can eat. A whiteboard displays a sizable choice of chat, snacks, entrees and breads.
On one side of the window they have freshly made Indian breads packed in sealed plastic or foil. Parathas, theplas and chappatis. I picked up a 3 pack of parathas for $ 2.49.
Down the snack aisle I got a pack of Swad brand methi khakhara. Methi is fenugreek leaves which are used to season the dough of the khakhra which is a crisp Indian tortilla.
I also picked up a bag of Mirch Masala brand Agra Dal Moth. This is a savory mix of split green moong and other lentils and extremely thin chickpea noodles. It is quite spicy.
I checked out at $ 5.47 for snacks that will last me over a week. The parathas are big enough that I can barely eat one half with my chai. Not a bad deal when you want to stretch your shrinking dollar.

A great find. Being a student, it’s often difficult to afford good Indian food, but this place has some of the best Indian food and it is extremely affordable. My boyfriend and I will go there and order 32 oz of paneer tikka masala (about 8 servings), and enough naan and samosas to supplement 8 meals — for less than $ 20 total. Cannot beat the price, and the food is great. The tikka masala is definitely one of the best I’ve had, and I have tried countless masalas. It’s very rustic, with curry and fenugreek leaves throughout and the occasional currant. The samosas are to die for. Fresh and crispy, with the most flavor dense filling. They have the same rustic feel as the curry, with visible mustard/​fennel seeds and packed with a thousand other spices I am not sure of. Buy more than you think you’ll eat, or you’ll be coming back :-)
If you are looking to buy rice from their grocery instead of the restaurant part, the kind they use is Kings XL Basmati rice. It is a thousand times better than any other basmati rice I’ve tried. Who would have thought rice could be so different!
Also, the store owner is extremely kind. Really helpful, always shakes our hand when we come in and remembers us.

Don’t let the outside of the building fool you. Good stuff awaits inside! It looks small and dingy from the road. There is ample parking and it is located next to a doctor’s clinic. Once inside the store you realize that it is a good sized full Indian Grocery Store. I went with my mother and we went on a shopping spree throughout the store. The prices for food items are very reasonable. They have a little restaurant in the back of the store that sells samosas that our out of this world «GOOD» and «CHEAP O.75» The store owner was super and took us back after purchasing our groceries to give us free food to try from the restaurant. We got two samosas, spicy green sauce, a sweet red sauce, okra dish with a flour mixture, and spicy potatoes. I will definitely be frequenting this store when I am near/​in the Sugar Land area. This was a super find!

I think I’ve finally found the best samosas in town!!! For $.65/​piece (even though the sign said $.75), these samosas are HUGE. They are almost the size of my hand, spicy, tasty, and delicious! My mouth waters just thinking about them! I will definitely have to try the other foods available from the kitchen!
This place is actually a grocery store that opened in October. The owner is very pleasant and helpful. They post when the fresh vegetable shipment arrives, and they tell you if you want some vegetables, to ask. They usually keep the vegetables in a cooler at the back of the store. Prices are cheap here, at least, for what I need. I found frozen paratha, 5 pieces for $.99!
