Sugar Land people, rejoice! You can now taste the famous Sandong Noodle House without having to trek to Chinatown! First time I went, I noticed a familiar face on the cashier stand: the nice Taiwanese lady who used to be THE Sandong Noodle House’s cashier and gave me a free order of potstickers when the original looked«bad» few years ago. It turned out that due to a management change, both Sandong’s cashier and chef are here in the Sugar Land Chinese supermarket! Like Sandong Noodle House, Mini Wok serves straight-forward, home-style Chinese food at a cheap price tag, but lacks the dirtiness that was Sandong’s biggest weakness. Here, you can get a rice plate with meat and vegetable options of your choice starting with $ 2.50(Price increases with number of choices) as well as Hong Kong BBQ and Taiwanese dumplings and buns. Don’t dismiss this because it’s a supermarket food court! Mini Wok definitely makes Chinese food that is as delicious as its Chinatown counterparts in a clean environment that is a standard in Sugar Land establishments. Whether you are craving Chinese food or are simply too lazy to cook, Mini Wok is a good place to get real Chinese take-out food. — tl;dr version: 1) Sandong Noodle House in Sugar Land! 2) Cheap but delicious, home-style Chinese food 3) Excellent for take-out
