I work at the hospital that was ranked the No. 1 hospital for cancer care in the nation by U.S. News & World Report’s «Best Hospitals» in July 2015 and also at one of the top ranking retail stores on Fortune magazine’s annual list of 100 Best Companies to Work For®. This store has been on the list for 16 consecutive years for the retailer on the employer of choice list. So I know all about good customer service. Mark did a great job or keeping in touch with us until we signed those papers to get the flooring installed they we were thrown out to the wolves to fend for ourselves. We had not had any follow-up calls, as a matter a fact, we weren’t called during the installation except when we got a call requesting the remainder of the payment. We did voice our dissatisfaction at the time but to no avail. Our experience with My Flooring America is the worst that I have ever had with any other company. We used them because friends recommended them. When we first contacted My Flooring America for a quote, the sales man was very nice and professional. He came to our house to do measurements and to give us a quote. We then agreed to let My Flooring America do the job and everything went downhill from there. My husband took 2 days off work to be there for the installation. The installers showed up 6 hours late, asked for remaining payment upon arrival, knocked a hole in the wall and damaged several pieces of furniture including electrical wires while removing the old flooring. Then we found out that there was a problem, water under the old laminate. After that dried, about a week; they came back to complete the job. Didn’t have the factory corner rounds or transition pieces that I ordered. They actually installed some pieces of wood that they had purchased from one of the local hardware stores and tried to stain them to match our flooring. It looked awful plus they did not us the correct pieces for the transition between rooms. I called the salesman to voice my concerns, he told me that it would be taken care of and it wasn’t. My husband and I then drove to the store to voice our concerns and issues with the installation; he again assured us that everything would be taken care of. They sent the installation supervisor out, who looked at the job, did not comment as to what would be done, just took notes. We never heard from him. After several more phone calls from us, a new set of installers were sent out, this time they were 9 hours late, but they did not have enough of the corner rounds to complete the job and none of the transition pieces. Overall it took approximately month to do a job that we were told it would take 2 – 3 days. We paid to have the heavy furniture moved but they did not move any furniture back in place after the job was completed. We were constantly asked for the second part of our payment even though the job was not completed to our satisfaction. We have not received any follow-up call to see if we are satisfied, no one has come out to inspect the job. We feel that My Flooring America does not care about us as a customer and were only looking to get paid. This company has the poorest customer service that I have ever experienced in my entire life. I sincerely hope that other customers have not been treated the way that we were. My Flooring America does not value their customers, at least not us. I would not recommend them to anyone. Customer service is key to me. You would think that they would want repeat customers and for us to recommend them to others, but by the way we were treated, it is obvious to me that they do not value our business. I don’t like to play the race card but it does make me wonder.

My wife and I wanted to redo one of our floors with laminate. We went to a few local flooring stores in the area, including the big home improvement stores. The difference between the local stores, like My Flooring America, versus the big home improvement stores are the choices. There is a vast selection at My Flooring America. It’s almost overwhelming. When we walked into My Flooring America, Felton, the salesperson greeted us. He was very polite and respectful. He wasn’t pushy like the other stores we went to, and he wasn’t like the typical car salesman. He didn’t try to sell us anything we didn’t want. As with any flooring, the installation can be more expensive than the materials. Felton took the time to break it all down for us, and if we decided to do it ourselves he told us how to install it. At the end of the day, I decided to purchase only the materials and have a handyman install it. When we got the laminate, we had a few questions about the installation. I contacted Felton, and he was more than happy to help. There ended up being a minor problem with one of the items we ordered, and Felton went above and beyond to fix it for us. We chose My Flooring America’s no name brand laminate. They order them in bulk, so even though it’s a high quality laminate(extra thick) the price was lower than the big name brands in the store. The laminate and the padding actually came out cheaper than the big home improvement store. We were very happy with My Floor America, and if we had to replace another floor, we would definitely go back and ask for Felton.
