Taste: The avocado toast thing is amazing and you should definitely try it. Same goes for the Roast Beef sandwich with cheddar cheese and fried onions. The food taste pretty good. I just wish that instead of the little skinny potato stick thing they would offer other sides like fries or something. Price: For the Roast beef sandwich that comes with the skinny potato sticks it cost like $ 13 if I remember correctly. I don’t drink alcohol so I can’t comment on the prices of that but the food is a little overpriced even though it taste pretty good.

I have been here twice now– once just for drinks and once for drinks and food. I will be back because I have been craving the avocado toast. It is amazing. All the flavors go together perfectly. I can’t even tell you what else I tried because the avocado toast just blew my taste buds away! They have an extensive drink menu and liquor selection. I highly recommend trying their namesake– the Ginger Mule. They are perfect every time! The only downside to this place is it’s small, so during peak hours you may not get a seat… but I love what this space has become and hope Ginger Mule sticks around much much longer than all the previous tenants did. Considering it’s owned by the same people who do Japaneiros, Guru, and Jupiter I think it’s safe to say Ginger Mule will be around for a while!

My wife and I went here for drinks Saturday evening and were so presently surprised by how wonderful this place was. We both thought«finally a place in sugar land that has some character as far as bars go.» My wife and I both had the gold nugget drink and it’s awesome !!! The atmosphere is very casual and the bar service was fast and friendly.

I would truly give this place a 3.5÷5 and I do like it! However, there’s really only one item that stands out to me – the avocado toast. Other than that, you can tell the quality of food is only decent. As much as I love the décor and set up of it all, it goes down to the food not standing out in any way. It makes me sad because I think this place has huge potential but the two times I came there it did not impress me.

I heard about Ginger Mule opening several months ago but never got to try it out until recently when I met up a friend for drinks in Town Center. We decided to make this stop #1 for the night and Im glad we did. When we arrived, I saw that the place is actually very small and cozy. For a bar, this means it probably stays packed most days if the drinks and service are decent. The hostess indicated the wait for a table was about an hour, but the bar is self serve. We got lucky and were able to find the last 2 seats at the bar immediately. I first tried to order the dragon fruit mojito, but they were out of dragonfruit for the day. I then decided on the mint julep a few minutes later. This whole process must have thrown the bartender off a bit, because he forgot to make my drink. About 10 mins later, I reminded him and he apologized and quickly made it. Mint Julep — yummy I saw they had a full menu and ordered the steak burger with cheddar cheese. This burger comes with matchstick fries for $ 12. The steak is not a true steak, instead, according to the bartender, it’s a chuck roast thinly sliced. I ordered it anyway and it took a while to eat it since it was a little dry, even after I placed all the house made mustard on the local buns. The buns were the best part, the beef had a weird irony taste to it. I’m not sure if it was because it was bad meat, or just a cut of beef that wasn’t meant to be put on a sandwich. The fries were terrible, since they tasted and looked just like the store bought fries in a can called Pik-Nik Shoestring Potatoes. Steak burger — not so good I really enjoyed the atmosphere here and stayed a while, to wait for our 3rd friend to arrive. When we finally finished and paid, we put out cash and a card, and the bartender still asked what did u want me to do, pay cash and rest on card… like there is any other option… lol My friend ordered the Pimm’s — C and hushpuppies, which I sampled, and enjoyed both of those.

Setup: out of town visitor staying in Sugar Land The good: drinks, hush puppies, avocado toast The bad: craklins — sound really good but didn’t deliver. Clam Rockefeller — topping completely obscured the clams. Observations: space is well appointed but very small. Located right next to the parking garage. Overall recommendation: some items hit or miss, but they seem to be interested in customer feedback. Nice option for Town Square.

Great all around place. — Mixed drinks are tasty. Kentucky mule was my favorite. Plus, they have an extensive whiskey selection. — I have tried many of the small plates and appetizers and have yet to be disappointed. Andouille sausage appetizer was bomb. — Great service every time. Couldn’t be better! My only negative finding are their operating hours. They don’t open until 4pm on most days. Even weekends. Bummer if you wanted to day drink. Oh, and the pastrami sandwich wasn’t that great.

We are new to Texas and I love this place. The drinks are yummy & the food is tasty. The hush puppies are amazing!!! The chicken sandwich left a little to be desired but is still good. I look forward to going back!

I really wanted to give this place more of a 3.5 because the food items was not all that great along with the pricing of the items BUT there aren’t many locations like this in Sugarland so I like the concept and idea! Not sure how busy this place gets on the weekends since we went on a weekday… Tiny little cozy bar so be ready to get intimate in this quaint little bar. Service was good and very friendly/welcoming!

When I saw this place opening up in Sugar Land, I immediately knew I had to try it. Another option for drinks in Sugar Land is always a plus! So what do you get here? Cocktails, plain and simple. They’ve got a wide selection of spirits and liquors, and their cocktails here are top notch. If you’re a beer guy though, I’d still go across the street for saucer. But cocktails in Sugar Land? Ginger mule for sure. I’d recommend the ginger mule and the negroni — both great so far. When I first got the ginger mule, they had an extra-spicy version of the ginger beer, which was fantastic, but on my second time back, they didn’t have it unfortunately. Bring it back — it was great! in terms of food, Ginger mule’s got good stuff. It’s classy and modern, with roots in southern/country food. It’s smaller plates though, so chances are you won’t be leaving filled. If that’s not a problem, then go ahead and order! Last minor complaint, the place is small. Maybe 8 tables in the entire place, with a good amount of seating at the bar. If things are busy, you’ll have to leave your number and come back, so I’d recommend getting there a bit earlier before the rush.

Went here for the first time with my boyfriend and we loved it! It has a great ambiance to it! The restaurant itself was pretty small, but nonetheless simple, antique décor. Happy hours are Mon-Fri from 4−7pm! My boyfriend got the Mint Julep which was pretty strong, the vodka was powerful. I got the Dragon Fruit mojito. Pretty good! Definitely can taste the mint, finished it. As for the food, I got the chicken fried chicken with hush puppies(has corn and it’s sweet! I liked it!) and biscuits(biscuit was normal, but added the gravy and it tasted delicious). My boyfriend got the pulled pork sandwich(which had a pretzel bun! Super yummy.) with a side of small itsy-bitsty fries. Overall, pretty good food and absolutely great customer service!

I was very excited to try the newly opened Ginger Mule! Even from the outside, it beckons you with it’s woody exterior. As I walked in, I heard a soundtrack of the Beatles playing, which confirmed that this place is already great. My friend and I sat by the bar, which had live baby breaths placed all around. There’s a chandelier made of antler horns which I loved, with shelves of antique looking books along the wall. Food: My friend and I split the Pork Belly Bites and Garlic Shrimp. The Pork Belly Bites were good, but the meat was too dry. Usually pork belly is fatty and tender, but my friend and I were fighting for the potatoes because some parts were too hard. The taste was great, but maybe too overcooked. The Garlic Shrimp was very enjoyable, and we loved dipping our garlic bread into the sauce. We were sad only 3 shrimp came out but we cleaned the plate. Drinks: I got a Kentucky mule(of course) and it was delicious! The taste was just right, not too strong. My friend got a Mint Julep, which was too strong for her so she didn’t end up drinking a lot of it, and the kind bartender took it off our tab… which, by the way, comes inside a book. Bravo! Everything aesthetics passes the test and I give the interior and ambiance an A!

i don’t know what happened… it looks like half of my review got cut off or something… weird, so i will just update, because:… I freaking Looooooove this place! The last time i was there i had the pleasure of meeting the bartender Dave. Dad and i had gone to Jupiter pizza(also owned by the owners of the Mule) and i convinced him to come to have some drinks right next door after. We took a seat at the bar and i told Dave that Dad was a beer guy. He started with what they had on draft and the first thing he mentioned was the St. Arnolds Art Car IPA. SOLD!!!(Daddy is a St. Arnolds Investor, so anything St. Arnolds that he hasn’t had a chance to try yet is WINNING!) So, not only did Dave immediately get on Dad’s good side he continued to chat with dad about beers and flavors and blah, blah, blah… Awesome. It keeps dad happy and i get to enjoy the Mules awesome vibe and the amazing Manhattan that Dave made me. So, i’m just chillin while dad and Dave talk and then i flag down the manager, also a Dave, just to tell him how awesome i think the Mule is and how great a job i think they are doing. We chat. I tell him i am really a vodka martini girl.(dirty. really dirty) He tells me that he was the same until they had just been introduced to some really good gin. He then proceeds to give me a gin tasting. I don’t remember the others. But, seriously y’all… Apparently Deep Eddy has gotten into the Gin game and they are know what they are doing! Soooo good! i could taste all the flavors, especially the juniper, it was amazing! He then made me a gin martini on the house! Obviously, it was amazing service! We continued to chat, dad stayed happy the vibe continued. A litte later my bf joined us and my dad passed me off to him. The bf loved the place too and enjoyed a couple of well made cocktails. It was a great night. Needlessly to say, i will obviously be back. Just go there y’all! It’s the hidden gem of Town Center. you KNOW i never lie!

There’s a cocktail bar in Sugar Land. The drinks are good, the waitstaff is great, and the ambiance is inviting. Five stars. Thank you Ginger Mule for existing and giving folks another place to drink besides the Flying Saucer.

Finally got to try this place out! We went for the lunch special which is an amazing deal. $ 12 and 3 courses. I’m a fan of all their restaurants in town center and the Ginger Mule is a nice addition. The atmosphere is nice and the décor is cute and rustic. Be prepared to sit next to people. The place is small and all the seating is community style. Lunch was less packed so we had some privacy. Food was very tasty. I really enjoyed the chicken fried steak with cheese grits. Good classic dish. The biscuit didn’t look like the drop biscuit I had seen in pictures. Maybe they changed how they made them. Nothing special about the one that comes with the steak. The pork belly maple hash was also very good. Just be prepared for a lot of sweetness. The cracklin(chicharron) that came with our appetizers was surprisingly delicious. I don’t think I would order a whole plate of them though so I’m glad they come along with other menu items(andouille snack and bbq pork belly bites). For desert we had the coconut bread pudding(could’ve been sweeter) and the French toast. I also had a ginger mule. The drinks were good but I wish they were a few dollars cheaper. Drinks were basically the price of the meal. Also the manager came and checked on is which is always nice. I recommend this new gastropub and I will definitely stop in again.

Back to the essence of cocktailing! First time here and I wasn’t disappointed. Great atmosphere, courteous staff and nice crowd. Now to the drinks. Nino was our bartender and she was AWESOME!!! Not an overstatement by the way. She had a great personality and was really knowledgable about all things cocktail. We got a Mascow Mule, Mint Julep, Negroni and a Nino concoction(something really tasty). They were all fantastic! I didn’t order any food this time, but their menu had some vegan options and on their website, they state that they’ll tailor anything to meet your dietary requests. Big thumbs up! Next time, I’ll get something to eat. I would definitely recommend coming here, because I’ll be back… soon!

Yo yo yo… imma let u finish but, Ginger Mule should have won the award for best place ever. Okay, yes, it’s packed and the wait was lengthy, but isn’t that how life is at awesome spots??? Get over it. Nino was our bartender and she was as perfect as a bartender can be. Like think of your perfect bartender and that was Nino. Literally. We ordered a Negroni, a Moscow mule, a Mint Julep and something else amazing that Nino picked. All perfectly made. We didn’t order food but all the food around us looked pretty great. Next time I am ordering the Avocado Toast for sure. Dave, the Manager, was walking around and being really personable and welcoming to his patrons… another plus. Sugar Land, Fort Bend County… you finally have a gastropub that has some serious potential. Congrats! Come here and spend all your dough!

Cool atmosphere, great service and good food. We came early on a Sunday, so didn’t have drinks. The portions are a little on the small side, but for the price, it was good. Here’s what we ordered: –Pork Belly Bites — super yummy –Potato Stick — skip this, it was pretty much like the ones that come out of the can –Side Salad — small, but filling. Lots of veggies, and some mushrooms. –Clam Chowder — not as thick as I would have liked, but still good. Lots of flavor –Chicken Fried Chicken — really good. Crispy, tender and tasty! –Drop Biscuits — mine where slightly burnt and very dry. Maybe they’ll be better next time –Pork Belly Hash — my husband ordered this. He really liked it. I had a taste and didn’t like. If we went back, I wouldn’t order it for my self. –French Toast — I’m a sucker for anything sweet, so I liked it. Thin slices of bread though. Overall, a good meal. For the price, and because I live close by, I’d go back again.

4 stars for the great food: –Clam Rockefeller was a perfect balance of sweet and savory. It was shareable between 3 people. –House BBQ Shanks were juicy and fall off the bone. You could share if you wanted, but I really would keep that for myself. –Fried Chicken was chicken fried chicken which I had with grits and a side salad. The chicken was a bit dry but the batter was light and crispy. The grits were under-seasoned and needed help from the gravy. The side salad of arugula, dried berries and mushrooms with vinaigrette was most excellent. 3 stars for my Ginger Mule: –My cocktail tasted watered down(as in no alcohol!) and I didn’t get a kick of ginger whatsoever. I believe that depended on the bartender though, because when the Asian guy made my friends’ ginger mule drinks it hadoukened their throat and they were quite satisfied with it. 4 stars for service: –I sat right at the bar, right in front of the bartenders. I waited 5 minutes before anyone acknowledged me for a drink order and my bartender was moving just a little slower than the others. She also seemed unsure and timid. No greeting, just set the cocktail napkin down and looked at me waiting for my order. She was a nice gal but I would prefer the other bartenders over her, who were more upbeat, knowledgeable, fast-paced and attentive. What I perceive to be the manager, a handsome bloke with salt and pepper hair, was bright eyed and bushy tailed. He asked us how we were doing twice during the visit. Thank you, kind sir, we did ace. 5 stars for the ambiance. –The place was small and a tightly seated(30 – 40 visitors tops, maybe?). You’re definitely going to rub elbows with others because there’s a huge community table and the main seating is at the bar itself at the centre of the pub. This is swell if you’re sociable like me, intimidating if you’re anti-social. I had a great conversation with the couple sat next to our party at the bar. I enjoyed the non-douchiness of this otherwise super hipster establishment. The place was dimly lit but the noise level was enough so you could shout and laugh loudly without anyone judging you. TL;DR I plan on returning.
