Can you believed that they served their steak in styrofoam? It took forever to get our orders and when they’re about to close, they offered to box the steak. We will definitely not come back here. Very poor service!!!

My boyfriend is from Argentina so he brought me here hoping to share his culture with me. This place was the worst ever if I didn’t have to give a star I wouldn’t. First of all totally dead on a Thursday night should have saw this as a sign since the restaurant across the street was packed. The server took forever to come to the table and there was only one other table in the place. He also had the attitude of not wanting to be there or wanting to serve us. Guess what I work in this industry yes customers can read you. Knew nothing about the menu. We both ordered steaks each different types. I asked for medium plus and got medium rare funny since it’s known for the steaks. Took 4 times sending it back to get a steak not pouring blood, as we watched the grill guy on his phone while grilling a steak he had no idea how to grill. If you’re known for grilling meat how about learning temperatures. When I did finally get to eat still blood and absolutely no flavor and a weird smell like the meat was bad. I mentioned it to the server he said probably a spice rub they put on it. Well really?? Because all I tasted was a bad steak with no seasoning and a funky after taste and bad odor. Told the manager he seemed to not even care. Needless to say I got violently sick from the meat. Worst Experience ever

We visited on a Monday evening(with a reservation) and the food was absolutely outstanding. The bread and chimichurri sauce they serve is so delicious. I had a salad and the portion was huge — I could have made a meal off of the salad and bread alone. Everyone else had the cream of mushroom soup(which was the soup of the day) and loved it. We had empanadas and calamari for appetizers and both were delicious. The spinach empanada was my favorite. Our steaks were perfectly seared and cooked according to our preferences and definitely rate among the best steaks any of us have ever eaten. It’s very pricey. The meal cost a little over $ 100/person(with gratuity) and only two of us had any alcohol(two glasses of wine by the glass — we didn’t even get a full bottle), but well worth it for a special occasion.

I took my wife here on Valentine’s day. From the moment you step through the door, you are whisked away to Buenos Aires. The live music, the service, and the food are first rate. The wine list is beyond compare. I have never had a better medium steak than the one I had here. I heartily recommend this restaurant.

We went there for the first time Saturday night at 8:00 with a reservation. We got there early but were still seated promptly. The food was excellent. It was really amazing. We were very happy with the food. We were not at all thrilled with the waiter. Though he admitted he had not been working there very long, it took a long time to get him to take our drink order and we had to ask for bread twice before we received it. When our appetizer arrived(the mixed cheese and meat plate) the waiter didn’t know what all was included or what some of the items on the plate were. He had to go off and ask. Drink refills were slow to come and he was not very knowledgeable about the menu. Again, the food itself was fantastic. Just not the kind of service you’d expect when paying for a $ 200+ dinner. I’d be reluctant to go again soon.

This was a visit made on a total whim, I picked it as I thought it would be fun to try Argentinian food, and it was amazing. Our waiter was very nice, gave us his recommendation for the porterhouse, which my husband decided upon. This is now in my top 10 of best steaks I’ve ever had. Melt in my mouth delicious! My steak, the bifo del fuego, was also amazing, juicy and perfectly cooked. Our side dishes were also very good, I hate cooked spinach with a passion, but I devoured every bite of the creamed spinach my husband ordered with his meal. There were tango dancers periodically throughout the meal and it was a lot of fun to watch. It was a lovely date night for both of us, and I can’t wait to go back.

Called to ask if they are open for NYE. They said yes with no pre-set menu. I asked for live music– they said yes there will be live music, party favors, valet. NYE and this is what happened: 1.Arrived at 10 pm to learn there is no valet. Had to leave and drive two blocks away, catch a shuttle to get us back. While Perry’s right across the street was providing valet for their patrons. 2. Made it to the resto. Hostess took show us table. We asked for menus and got pre-set 3-course menu for $ 70.00 pp. Remember we were advised there will be no pre-set menu. 3. Questioned the waitress and asked for regular menu. She said, «this is our menu for tonight and this is what we were given to pass out». So we said ok — it was too late to find another restaurant at 10:30 pm NYE. 4. Party favors: not expecting too much but got nothing at all — where some of the tables had hats for the men, crowns for the women. 5. Music: «remember,» they said live music. Well, NOLIVEMUSIC. Questioned the waitress(again) and she said: «there will be a person going around playing an instrument». «Nice!» we said, «where is he?». She said: «Not sure, but he will show up». Well, he DIDN’T show up. 6. They rushed us through the 3-course meal. 7.11:30 pm she asked to clean the table — we said ok. 11:35 pm she brought the check«when you are ready». We were surprised and said: «are you closing?» She didn’t even ask if we need anything. Where actually four of us wanted to have coffee and we were to order bottle of champagne for a toast. 8. WHAT were the balloons on the ceiling for if NOT for New Years Celebration. As we looked around the restaurant at 11:45 pm, it appeared a team effort by all of the waters to get everybody out. There was no indication that the restaurant was going to celebrate New Years at 12 o clock. 9. As we departed the restaurant 5 min before the countdown(11:55 pm) most of the employees were outside in the Town Center celebrating New Years. 10. What a night! Ha!

Food is overpriced for the overall quality. The lamb chops were juicy but small. Mozzarella on the caprese was not the fresh kind, at least it couldn’t have been softer, and the tomatoes were not the ripest. The sausage lentil soup was good, not a «wow.» The sausage pieces were super tiny. We ordered the steak medium, it came rare. They do have someone playing the accordion, with a couple doing the tango. For people looking to take photos, the yellow lighting is not complementary for face photos. Service was attentive, but for $ 230 for 2 people I expect more with the food quality and taste.

I came here for a seminar and I would never come back willingly. Let’s start with the appetizers. All bad. The calamari tasted like chicken. No part of it resembled any calamari I’d ever had, the cheese empanadas were not good either. It was as if they were made with rancid cheese. Sausage was no bueno either. The spinach salad was good. Please stay away from the chicken Milanese. That’s all I have to say about that. I left with the worst stomach ache. Service was non existent, though it was such a big group maybe they were just overwhelmed. I would avoid this place like the plague.

All around a really bad over-priced experience. The food was mediocre at best, the appetizer was bland and the steak was not the quality of meat I’d expect for a $ 50 steak. My wife found a bone in her salmon, it got to the point where we came in wanting flan, but left because we didn’t want to spend any more money here. Only win for the evening was the charming accordion player… We won’t be coming back.

What a surprise — we went Saturday evening and the ambience is very good. We booked four course meal from Group on saved big … The appetizer was out of this world… followed by lentil soup. We ordered. a red wine from Argentina to accompany the meal. The steak was so smooth and soft… it melts in your mouth. Finished the course with a chess cake. Every thing about this place was excellent. Great waitress, service was excellent and friendly. The food is excellent 10 times better than the all you can eat Meat places. We are definitely coming back. Also the music and Tango dance was excellent.

Have been going here since the day it opened and I recently had my party here and the doors close all the way you get the privacy you need and there is a connection in the wall to play your own music. My friends and family were very grateful and delighted with the food and service they just couldn’t help to ask for more. It is expensive but, just know that they base their prices on the quality of the dish you order, it’s not really a meal for you’re daily routine, usually special occasions. So if you want to have a special meal come here you won’t regret it.

Great Argentinean restaurant in the Sugarland area right across from the Marriott. Their grilled provoleta is a must as an appetizer and you can’t go wrong with either their bife de chorizo or bife de fuego cut. Staff wasn’t on their A game this last time I was there during my business trip.

I made reservations thru Unilocal last weekend for my wife and I. We were 15 minutes late but the hostess was really nice and was still able to sit us. The atmosphere was great, loved all the decorations. Wonderful authentic accordion and tango dancers. Tasteful. Romantic. Not tacky. Well done!!! We ordered Bife Fuego & Sausage, Chicken, and Cheese & Onions Empanadas. They were scrumptious!!! Not the best but they were good. It came with 2 different sauces. The chimichurri sauce which in my opinion it was plain. and some yellow/reddish which it was good with the empanadas. 1 advice I would give to the owners of Tierra Del Fuego is — For the chimichurri sauce is to add garlic, white wine vinegar, a little sugar and little red pepper flakes. You will see a huge difference in taste.
For the main Entrée we had the Gaucho which it was a mini bbq pit with all the meat loaded. The whole entrée was delish but again, it would make a huge difference if they can perfect the chimichurri sauce. Overall, this place was good, It would have received 4 – 5 starts if the prices were a bit lower for their quality of food and to prefect their chimichurri sauce

I’d go back. Everything we experienced from the customer service to the food was overall great with the exception of my tenderloin but I’ll get to that later. To start off the waiter and front host was very courteous. My friend, his wife, and their toddler in a stroller accompanied my wife and I for dinner on a chilly Saturday night. We made reservations via OpenTable and everything was handled smoothly. We were given a tour(at least it felt like it since he went clock-wise around the restaurant as we followed him with the baby stroller to the other side of the restaurant to be seated. Meanwhile, on our journey we noticed a very very fun and friendly accordion player who would later stop by our table to serenade our friend’s dancing toddler. We also noticed a couple ‘tango-ing’ table side by a generous amounts of other patrons while dining. Meanwhile, over yonder at the bar we could see another set of folks drinking it up and enjoying the sights and sounds. For starters we ordered wine, McCallan’s, and an order or Pisco Sour. I saw another reviewer mention it and I know its hard to find a bartender who knows how to prepare this properly with the egg whites let alone have a bottle of Pisco. It took some time but the finished product was delicious. Frothed perfectly and dusted with cinnamon. It did look a bit too feminine but who cares. I’m in it for the taste. I’d highly recommend this cocktail. We dined on the empanadas and like everyone else here said… it was great. I just love smothering it up with the chimichurri sauce and the other orange sauce. I had to order more of these accompaniments later in the meal. The complimentary bread served was warm and light. The stuffed zuchini looked better than it tasted but it was definitely great. I’d order it again. It just looked like a painting that you didn’t want to disturb. My wife ordered salmon I believe and she said it was good. Good enough to finish it up so that’s a good thing since she loves salmon and wasn’t exactly starving either. My friend and his wife ordered the Ribeye(non-grass fed version) and they absolutely enjoyed it. They had creamed spinach I believe and they didnt comment on it. They finished it so I imagine they enjoyed it. Now I ordered the Grass-Fed NY Strip Loin and I expected better especially since I was paying Prime prices for Nolan Ryan cuts. I expected better in how it was seasoned and also how it was prepared. It was warm in the middle and outside. It was prepared medium-rare just as I requested but was way too chewy in some parts of the steak while tender and perfect in other areas. I’d go back again but instead I’ll go with my favorite cut, Rib-Eye. I knew I shouldn’t have ventured out of my norm that night but you live and learn; Besides I have that Unilocal coupon which I plan to use any day between Sunday and Thursday. We skipped on dessert but we won’t skip out on the next opportunity to come back. It was a fun night here and the service was great.

Great for Sugar Land! Wonderful authentic accordion and tango dancers. Tasteful. Romantic. Not tacky. Well done! My date and I shared a wonderful meal for two brought table side with a separate cart. Romantic. In the distance, meats roasted on a pristine glass enclosed speckit. Far into the room was… what can only be described as an appointed open style meat seasoning and open fire roasting styled kitchen. The service was personal and the environs magnificant for what it is. Great FLAVOR. Great date place. Intimate and Magnificant. I want to make you aware of a Unilocal groupon for this establishment. Use it! And give this place your business!

Pisco sours… that is all. Ok, that’s NOT all. But it’s a good enough reason to go here. This place makes some great ones. *2 oz Pisco *1 oz Fresh lime juice *.5 oz Simple syrup(one part sugar, one part water) *1 Fresh egg white Add all the ingredients to a shaker and fill with ice. Shake vigorously and strain into a highball glass or Champagne flute. Ours came in a martini glass. I posted a pic. Now on to the meal. Steak… grass fed, no antibiotics, perfectly cooked steak. The porterhouse, the ribeye and the filet are all beautiful steaks. Sure, they are pricey averaging $ 40 per with one side. But like most really good steak places, you get what you pay for. This is one of those pricey places in the«most’ category. They were perfectly cooked, large in portion, tender and without gristle. It really depends on what your favorite cut is as to which you’d want to order. But we had all three at the table and all three of these cuts were wonderful. However, they are not USDA Prime… or if they are the menu doesn’t indicate that. So if you are looking for that I can’t say the steaks were of that quality. But the open pit grilling did add a terrific flavor. No steak sauce needed. It’s Nolan Ryan meat, so it’s local. But it’s still just certified tender and NOT certified prime. For that price it really should be. Ok…on to apps. I don’t care much for calamari. So when one of my dining companions insisted on ordering it, I figured I didn’t have to eat it. But as calamari goes, this was pretty tasty. Not over breaded. it didn’t have that«get bigger as you chew» thing going on. So if you like tender, well flavored calamari I would recommend this. But the ceviche was great! Red snapper, well limed and lovely pears and red onion. And the corn that came with it was so sweet. What a lovely compliment to the tart ceviche. At $ 15 for the app you may balk. Don’t. It’s worth it. The beet salad was lovely. I posted a pic. Served as a tower salad with a lovely lettuce salad on the side with some very good house vinaigrette. Service was very good. Water always filled, utensils quickly replaced, clean plates for every course. Wonderful communication with our waiter when we asked about his favorites. I only had to pour my own wine once. And by the way they are VERY proud of their wines. Nothing really less than $ 40. Lots of terrific Malbecs obviously with a few nice California wines too. I did not see any Texas wines. That would be a nice addition. One of the owners came by a couple times to check on us. It’s a lovely restaurant in the Town Square. We valet parked. I recommend it for $ 5. But it is quite loud. Especially with the accordion player wandering around. On weekends they have tango dancers and that was a very nice touch. They also have a wine room for dining and larger rooms they can close off for private parties and company events. Four stars because of the sound issue and the steaks not being prime but still priced as prime.

I wanted to add to my previous reviews to say that Tierra did a great job for a private party we held for my son’s graduation. Not only was the service wonderful and attentive, which is more difficult to do for larger tables, but the food was great! Everyone was impressed and raved about the evening. Some new dishes I tasted this go round: A wonderful Lobster Ravioli with a decadent Tarragon Lemon Butter Cream sauce, Tender Salmon over perfectly creamy risotto, and three types of Empanadas. The pastry was flakey yet light while the interiors of either cheese, beef, or chicken, were fab. On Mother’s Day we were treated to a sample of the Seafood Paella prepared from the owner’s mom’s recipe. The muscles, shrimp and rice were expertly prepared in a very mild sauce. Ask if you prefer it spicier, and be aware it isn’t a regular menu item. Also, try a side of Nona’s purée of sweet potato, pumpkin and potato. It is sheer creamy goodness with a nice semi-sweet balance. Finally, all the deserts are wonderful, including the flaming dessert crepes brought for the graduation party. Such a special touch to celebrate my son’s achievement! Ok, I have to wax poetic about one more thing – the great mixologist, Mike. He has concocted a killer drink of sliced strawberries and basil with, I think, vodka. So refreshing and original. Best of all are his desert martinis! The Chocolate Expresso or, my new fave, a Chocolate Ice Cream Hazelnut with fudge rim, are manna from heaven. This guy is equal to the best inside the Loop. Thanks to all, Eric, Jimmy, Mike, and crew for everything!
