I have been here a few times. I love how the owe we describes the specials and the passion he has. My mouth is watering by the time he has completed. They are very accommodating to my wife’s gluten allergy. Mexican dishes are outstanding. We will be back.

Liked this place. Skip the house special Shrimp appetizer. Quality of shrimp was below average. The taco, chili relleno, and enchilada dish with the rice and beans was excellent. Top shelf margarita was average. I would try the sangria next time. Chips and the homemade salsa was excellent. Solid, family owned type place with very friendly service.

Finally got to experience Cancun Inn; it was even better than expected! It’s decorated tastefully and feels very inviting. I started by ordering white sangria, but our waiter(who was also the owner) said the red is better! So I got red sangria — delicious! I had the chef’s special shrimp in their signature garlic sauce with rice and fresh vegetables. The right amount of subtle heat in the plump fresh big shrimp was perfectly complemented by a sweetness in the vegetables. My companion had chicken baked with rice and vegetables and loved it. I meant to take a picture when the food arrived, but it looked and smelled so good we dove right in; sorry about the partial food pics. At the end of the meal there was not a morsel left. Finished with a light, smooth dark chocolate cake which was amazing. The owner was so friendly and sweet I felt like hugging him goodbye when I left. I will definitely be back!

Just had lunch here today and had the BEST time ever. Not only did Israel open his restaurant an hour before he planned to to accommodate us, we had an absolutely fantastic time while we were there. Israel and his wife and brother(shout out to my BFF and bro Julio) were so friendly and the food was delicious. Definitely get the sangria when you go — you will not regret it. Israel also performed a bunch of amazing magic tricks which was the perfect end to the meal. Loved every moment and I will definitely be back next(and every time) I’m in the area again. Thank you Cancun Inn!!!

Saw the reviews on Unilocal for this place not far from home. Not your typical Mexican. It’s kicked up a notch. Extensive menu with Spanish flair. We both had the salmon filet special, served with pineapple habanero chili sauce. It came with a salad and we chose house dressing. Some sort of tequila lime balsamic dressing. Very good, with a little kick. Everything is made from scratch and it was great to easily trade out the rice or beans for fresh veggies. We will be back to try the typical Mexican food. Service was good too. They were busy for a Sunday evening, which tells you something when the restaurant down the street had an empty parking lot. Thanks Unilocal

Cancun Inn has the most wonderful food and service. I usually get the carne asada y camarones — they are cooked to perfection with a delicious sauce. The service is amazing — the staff is very personable and prompt. I love coming here!

Everybody please look at the 13 other reviews that are«currently not reccomended» most of them are 5 stars. Cancun Inn is an exceptional restaurant with exceptional food and sensational service! The best, most authentic Mexican Restaurant in the area. The atmosphere is very fun, the drinks are delicious and strong. We usually share a half pitcher of red sangria. When you are seated everyone in your party gets a cheese quesadilla, occasionally an appetizer if it’s on the slower side or if they recognize you, chips and salsa. All complimentary. Your dinner orders are out in front of you in less than ten minutes and the flavors are always, always amazing. To end off, they give everyone a complimentary fried banana and honey dessert and shots of tequila with the check(we usually decline those), again, all complimentary. This place is great.

Bartender and waiter(maybe he was the owner too) were amazing! They told us funny jokes and showed us magic tricks during the meal. Food was good, only critique is I would make the salsa a little spicy. Other than that we had a fabulous time. Great margaritas and sangria too we will definitely be back!

Food food food food food… I love all food! Every weekend the bf and I Unilocal through different options to satisfy our cravings. Last weekend we opted for Mexican! I am not a native of upstate or northern jersey so I don’t really know where to go except the Chinese or pizza spot by my bf’s house. So with that said, Unilocal is my #1BFF when I’m at his place(then bf comes 2nd … Heh. ;)) After Unilocaling through the many Mexican spots in the area(separately of course, speeds up the eatery decision process), we stumbled across the Cancun Inn. When we arrived we were pleasantly welcomed and seated at a cozy corner table next to a faux fireplace heater thing, s’cute. Our server, who was very nice. Like really really nice, named the specials and took our drink order. We started with a pitcher of their sangria(amazing) and were given warm chips and salsa. My bf ordered their special which was a stir fry over rice and I ordered the paella. The food was good, but I should’ve ordered a more traditional Mexican dish. My mind kept comparing it to an authentic homemade paella I had in Florida made by my greatuncle’s ladyfriend… Anyway I do hope to come back soon and try their other dishes. Maybe some enchiladas or something and tacos and something messy with rice and beans and sour cream :). PS u get a complimentary sweet house shot made of stuff that I can’t remember, but I do remember it being delicious!

Authentic Mexican food and friendly staff are what you will find here. I was a fan of Cancun Inn when it was in New Hampton, and the only thing that has changed is the location. While I miss having it close to me, the new location is nice and bright with outside seating if the weather is nice. This restaurant is a very welcoming environment for families and there’s a sizeable bar for the grown ups who just want to throw one back with some good food. For entrees, I recommend the carne asada con camarones al ajillo — very tasty beef and shrimp dish in a yummy garlic sauce. I also love the chicken chimichangas, which are full of flavor, lathered in just the right amount of cheese and sauce, and are perfect when enjoyed with a Negra Modelo! The rice and refried beans that come with most entrees are delicious as well and complete the whole package. For kids they have smaller portions of Mexican food or you can get them the typical chicken fingers, etc. if they aren’t too adventurous. All in all, a good meal and good times — I just wish they were around the corner from my house so I could go more often!

Seriously, my friend and I came here after a concert at Sugarloaf PAC, the owner introduced himself and told us how great the place was and all the magazines they were mentioned in. He’s really sweet, but I didn’t need a marketing pitch as we were already there! I have to say though, he was right. Cancun Inn has some of the best Mexican I’ve ever had, and what a gem to find it in Sugarloaf, NY! I got the enchiladas and a taco, very good! Washed it down with a nice Strawberry/Mango margarita.

On the way back to Long Island from a long Upstate trip, I never thought I would stumble across a great Mexican restaurant experience, but that’s exactly what happened last night at Cancun Inn in Chester, New York, near Goshen. First of all, the family owners greet every customer like they have been coming here for years. Elba and Israel truly know how to treat their patrons. They filled our table with things to nosh on, as if the chips and salsa weren’t already among the best I’ve sampled with just the right amount of flavor. Entrees, drinks, their rice, beans and vegetables… I must say there wasn’t a negative word about anything we put in our mouths. Sit inside or out and enjoy some great food and(perhaps more impressive) some of the most attentive service you will encounter anywhere. El Restaurante Cancun Inn esta MUYBIEN!
