Best service and the food is fantastic! Clearly one of the tops in this little town! The baked goods look awesome. So surprised they are not open on a Sunday. The salad and ice tea was over the top! Every year here for the pro circuit, they are a gem!

I’ve gone to this restaurant on two separate occasions. First time I ordered a burger and fries. It was just ok. My fries were not hot despite my explicit request. Apparently my waitress was new at the time and she was feeling over whelmed so she let the floor and never returned for my checked. We waited on her for about 20 mins before just asking another server to run the tabs. second time, I order the French toast huge disappointment. Sumter is super small and there aren’t many options for decent food. Lots of folks around here love it and I have no idea why. My best guess is. Its popular because there nothing else around.

This is a must whenever I’m in Sumter. Being from Washington I’m accustomed to coffee shops everywhere. But whenever I visit this is one of my first stops. I fell in love with the lemon bars a few years ago before they remodeled, but I’ve finally ventured out and tried the muffins and omg! I can’t get enough, I wish I would have ordered a few extra for the road. Their chai latte is also one of the best I’ve ever had! Next time we’re in town we actually want to sit down and try lunch, it’s such a cute place and the menu looks very tempting. But I just can’t wait to come back and try more pastries, this is definitely a must if you’re in Sumter.

One of the best hidden gems I’ve found around town. Super delicious desserts, great coffee, and delicious food. The staff has always been friendly and everything has always tasted wonderful. By far my favorite place to grab a quick dessert to go or sit down for coffee and/or a meal.

I came in here for lunch yesterday and I am back. I had the roast beef and fontina sandwich, which was warm, full of flavor, and my hoagie bun was super soft and fresh. I had a side of pasta salad, which I didn’t care for – it isn’t bad, it just did not appeal to me. I definitely want to try their delicatessens and their coffee on another day. I did have a chocolate cupcake the last time I was herr. It was refreshingly soft and mosit, and not overly sweet. I had the Devin’s Italian Sandwich. It was delicious. I had their gouda soup, full of flavor, but it was served barely warm, unfortunately. And the dip that comes with it is actually the soup. I am a little disappointed that the waitress didn’t tell me this because I would have ordered a different side all together. So, two strikes out on my sides so far… I am only in town for a short time, but this place would be a regular breakfast and lunch spot for me – I can tell. They have a mix crowd of young, old, business professionals and relaxed holidayers. Staff greets you at the door, which is always nice. I definitely like their section of «bistro-to-go» pre-made food for customers. A great idea for those who need to run in and out and want a good meal at the house. Cute local spot. Glad I stumbled in and definitely pleased with this place so far.

i like this place; i like their food. What i do not like is that there was a dog(not a service dog) sitting on a banquette and eating off the table. I mentioned it to staff member and was told that they don’t understand the law governing animals and are therefore scared of getting sued if they say ANYTHING… that’s lame. in my opinion

The food here is not especially exceptional. The menu is boring and not extensive. The caesar salad is not a true caesar salad, it comes sometimes with mixed lettuces not romaine. The chicken salad tastes like paper and is bland and the service is slow. Not exceptional, just okay for lunch. Coffee is okay, but the lady that works the coffee bar is not very customer oriented so it usually takes a while to get her attention.

It’s good when I have time to sit and enjoy. The perfect place to sit for a while and just enjoy the simple things.

This is a great place to grab a sandwich for lunch along with some dessert. It can get a bit crowded, but there is an area where you can order off of the main menu to-go. I will be stopping in again tomorrow to enjoy once more before I leave Sumter!

The moment you walk in you can smell all the fresh baked sweets, and there selection is very nice. And I only went for a sandwich, so good by the way

We stop here every time we visit our granddaughter and are never disappointed! Great selection of pastries, breakfast items, soups, sandwiches, & salads all freshly prepared and generous portions! Portions easily shared!

This place is very beautiful inside out but the food is not awesome or something I would miss and would like to come back. Very original and the wait for food is ridiculously long. I’ve been here three times and all three times, service has been very slow and food took too long to come out plus it wasn’t very tasty as well. The only thing I like at this place is the latte freeze– this is the only reason why I would even give it a two star.

Amazing best good I’ve had in Sumter. Had the baked potato soup and the spicy turkey club. I also ordered the nutty nurse coffee also amazing. Going back soon.

Stopped in here for breakfast during the week and it was great. I really wanted to try the Southern Crêpe, but apparently that is a brunch-only menu item that can only be ordered during specific hours. Bummer. I ordered the Quiche Lorraine, expecting to get a slice of quiche, but that was not the case. After waiting a few short minutes, I was presented with a beautiful mini quiche. It was absolutely delicious and quite filling. With the side of fruit(cantaloupe, grapes, and orange slices) I was barely able to finish everything. Our server was very friendly, and was constantly checking up on us. No complaints here! If you haven’t already, I would highly recommend trying their non-bakery food items!

I was TDY for a 5-week class at Shaw Air Force Base when some classmates suggested I try Baker’s Sweets for a healthier meal. I came in very skeptical about finding a bakery in Sumter. I was not ready for how good this place was. Talk about a treat! Being extremely critical, the service is not phenomenal, it is a bit slow and awkward, however the food makes up for the service. I highly recommend the Baked Potato Soup, as well as the pasta salad. However, nothing I ate here was anything short of delicious.

Well I messed up. I moved here to Sumter 2 days ago. My apartment is on the same street as Baker’s Sweets and their tantilizing sign quickly caught my attention. I resisted the urge for all of 20 hours. Being that I’m in a new city with no friends and not much to do, I decided to indulge in some baked goods. A lemon bar, red velvet cookie, and fun-fetti cookie later, I’m full, happy, and satisfied. I’ll be back, more times than I’ll probably admit. I can’t wait to try everything else in that display case.

Their food is okay, but a little overpriced. Their coffee drinks are not prepared the way that they are supposed to be, although they taste pretty good(for example just using chocolate syrup for mochas). The quality of their food seems to have gone down since their expansion. The service there always feels rushed and the servers are kind of rude. They don’t acknowledge you when you come in if they are busy. A simple«I’ll be right with you,» would be nice. Their special occasion cakes are good though. I liked the peanut butter one.

I had high expectations coming here and had a MASSIVE craving for red velvet. They ran out of red velvet cake earlier but still had a few red velvet cupcakes left. Knowing they ran out of the cake I was SURE this was the real deal! I was happy to get the cupcake since they told me it’s the same recipe— as soon as I got back to my place, I took a bite and… It tasted like bland barely-any-chocolate cake with cream cheese frosting. WHY??? the bakery looked legit AND fancy! Why would you serve such… such… disapointment?! Just to be sure, I called to make sure my taste buds were correct. I called and asked if they used vinegar making red velvet… they said no. WHYWOULDYOUMAKEFAKEREDVELVET??? Your bakery is a cheat. No real bakery makes red velvet without vinegar.

This is one of the most popular places to get coffee in Sumter. they offer brunch, lunch, dinner, and desserts. There’s a glass case of pastries, and their quiches are great. If you call ahead, you can also order birthday cakes in a variety of flavors. A few years ago, I ordered the peanut butter one for my mom, and she loved it.
