Went there last Saturday for breakfast and had a cheese omelet with potatoes and sausage. After waiting 45 min it came out and was cold. I ate it just to see how it was and I had one bite that had cheese in it. The sausage came out 5 min later. When I revived the check. The sausage cost more then the whole breakfast. It was not that busy. A man was siting beside me that had order his breakfast before me and came out after mine. He took one bite and asked for his check. When the lady asked him what was wrong his reply was it was cold. Maybe it was a off day not sure if I will try it again.

There seemed to be a good crowd for a weekday morning. I had your basic eggs, toast, and home fries breakfast with OJ and coffee all for under $ 8. Good old small town diner fare all around. My order was up in about 10 minutes. I hope they do well. This location has been the site of several diners. I’d recommend it if you’re passing by at breakfast or lunchtime.

The Allenstown Country Diner opened for business on May 4, 2015 inside the former Friends Diner space on US Route 3 next to the«double decker» bridge. This local family restaurant serves up breakfast and lunch 7 days a week. Lunch is served from 11AM to close. The place was renovated and looks nice. There are two dining rooms with table seating and the front room with counter seating(high chairs) and a TV to watch(Good Morning America!). This diner was initially called the Broken Yolk Country Diner for a short time. A few years ago, there was also a Broken Yolk Country Restaurant in Belmont, but they changed their name to J & J Yolk & Co. Anyways, I stopped here for breakfast a week after they opened(they needed to work out the kinks during the first week) on my commute to work. I arrived here around 7:15AM on a weekday and the place was not busy, only 2 other customers. I took a seat at the counter and I was given a breakfast menu and offered a drink(I got ice water). For breakfast, I ordered the Western Omelet($ 5.95) served with homefries & toast and a Chocolate Chip Pancake($ 2). The food was served to me in about 10 minutes. The omelet(blended kind with green peppers, onions, ham(cubes)) and folded with melted cheese was soft and fluffy. The homefries(fresh cut potatoes) were griiled brown and seasoned. The white toast was buttered, Smuckers preserves on the counter). The chocolate chip pancakes(they gave me 2 for 1) were thick, dense, and very firm(Bisquik like), which had plenty of melted chocolate chips inside. I prefer soft and fluffy pancakes. The service here was very attentive and friendly. I was given several refills on the ice water. Overall, the food was enjoyable, a great 3 egg omelet with homefries and decent chocolate chip pancakes. I would return again to The Broken Yolk in Allenstown for breakfast and lunch.
