They have the least salty soups in the neighborhood. Delivery is fast. Portions are generous. I love the steamed healthy chicken and mixed veggies with the garlic sauce on the side and brown rice($ 5.95). It is usually enough to satisfy me and is totally clean. Their tofu veggie soup with noodles is greta as an add on too, an dis only $ 4.95 for a quart. That is like 2 meals or for 2 people… Sa far the best Chinese in the hood because it is the least salty and most reliable.

i generally don’t like to review places where i’ve only gotten delivery because i haven’t been there, but i will for empire based on my last encounter with them. i used to order here because they had dumplings and other staple chinese takeout food was decent, so much so that even my boyfriend liked it(and he’s a picky eater). however, the last time we ordered, my boyfriend said that not only was the majority of his boneless spare ribs burnt/inedible, but he also had food poisoning later that night. i called empire to remedy the situation, only to have the woman laugh and hang up on me. never eating from here again. not worth running into food poisoning.

The food here is just not good at all. Pork«fried» is like fluffy was bland overlooked and possible the worst tasting rice I have ever. Not to be rude but out of everywhere else in the area it may be the worst :(

Giving this place a zero Have been ordering from this place about 4 years and basically ordered the same thing during these years. Ordered this evening and the order was sent wrong. Called so they would correct it, and the woman was arrogant telling me that it does not come that way and meanwhile I have been ordering the same thing all the time. She was just arguing with me and would not fix the order. Told her she just lost a customer due to her arrogance and not willing to fix the order. Good luck keeping customers with this new girl!

When I’m craving Chinese food, this is the closest joint I have around my neighborhood. Gave it a try once, left unsatisfied. Gave it a second try, left sick.

Good, enjoyed my take-out here. I will admit, my standards are pretty low for Chinese food, especially since there are a bunch of crappy local restaurants in the area that have made me sick before. However, everything tasted good, especially the shrimp fried rice. I didn’t think they skimped on the shrimp too much. I felt good after, my tummy wasn’t yelling at me for eating garbage. Tummy knows best! Good prices, I spent 21 dollars and had dinner plus 4 lunches for the week! The counter guy was also very nice. I’d come back here and/or order delivery. **Vegetarians, please note their Hot & Sour soup does have chicken in it.

The chicken with broccoli and white rice = should be called«broccoli and rice». Same goes for the beef. Your dish is 75% broccoli and 25% meat. Tastes fine, but a monetary rip-off! What in a short time used to be $ 3.75 is now $ 5.50 for a dish of greens. No thank you. I have been going here for 12 years and have seen the quality go down, down, down. Friendly service, nice people, but short on ingredients.

Consistently good food, love the dumplings. Usually order the general tso’s dinner combo which can be ordered with brown rice. Fast hot delivery.

So far we’ve ordered from this place through Seamless and GrubHub for delivery regularly over the past year. We always order the same thing; General Tso’s Chicken and Sesame Chicken both with pork fried rice and an egg roll, with an order of pork fried dumplings. The reason why we do is simply because the food never seems to disappoint. It’s hard to screw up Chinese food, and so far Szechuan Garden hasn’t done that yet.

With so many Chinese restaurants in the neighborhood one would think that the competition would cause the proprietors to try something different or special to separate his/her business from the crowd. New Empire Szechuan Garden certainly does not care about being different. This is very basic Americanized Chinese food– extremely bland and boring. My vegetarian wife found more pork in her vegetable chow fun than I had in my yellow(?) pork fried rice. Needless to say the majority of our dinner wound up in the trash.

This is our Chinese takeout spot. Within 20 minutes you can have a Chinese feast delivered to you. The shrimp dumplings are awesome, the sesame shrimp is really tasty; the food is comparable to what I have had in Chinatown. They are always very nice and include free soda and/or fried rice if you get enough food. Brown rice is no extra cost.

The only thing I have had here so far is the hot&sour soup. I thought this was delightful. Pretty spicy and sour with the right amount of corn starch. Nice pieces of tofu and egg drop swirls. I do wish they made it right there in front of you, but it’s good, close to me and $ 1.80

3.5 maybe. Probably one of the better Chinese take-out places taste-wise, in the area. Dinner specials are a great deal(lots of food), and being able to order on Seamless makes things so much easier and more convenient! And yes, they do give you a lot of rice.

Just… so bad. Mongolian beef should be renamed mongolian hahaha tricked you. There’s always a slew of weird, no-love chinese joints in every city around the world. On the plus side, they give you a shit ton of rice.

This is my regular neighborhood Chinese spot. It’s not gourmet, so don’t go in expecting the best Chinese you’ve ever had. I regularly get chicken and broccoli, which is standard but slightly less greasy and even a little less salty than I’ve had elsewhere. The wonton and hot ‘n’ sour soups are great. I try to stay away from the fried stuff in general when getting takeout from anyplace, but I will occasionally go for the Dragon and Phoenix here, which is half shrimp and veggies, half General Tso’s chicken. Both are mighty tasty.

The fried rice was yellow and looked like it came out of a box. The broccoli was hard. The General Tsao’s was sweet, not spicy at all, and tasted like cheap barbecue sauce. I know this is cookie cutter Chinese fast food, but this is definitely the worst I’ve had from such a place and it’s extra disappointing that this is on my block. I had such high hopes of something really good being so close.

Sometimes, Sunnyside Partners in Crime wakes up on a Sunday and wants Chinese food for breakfast. OK, OK, this one is all my own and not necessarily a group experience(mostly, Sunday morning/afternoon is highly personal and not in the least a group experience). Sometimes, Irene wants Chinese food for breakfast. Sometimes may be all the time, but Sundays are days when that can happen! Which means Sundays is greater than most days. But I digress mathematically. New Szechuan will pile on the food and keep the prices so low, and they have crab rangoon(basically the best thing that I ever learned about in 5 years of Boston living) with amazing sauce. And they have great lunch specials ALLWEEKENDTOO! And they give you a free soda when you spend $ 10(a little harder than you might think here). Kudos on eggplant in garlic sauce, chicken with eggplant in garlic sauce, snow peas in garlic sauce(sense a trend yet?). Oh, and of course, kicking moo shu. The best part is I get to bring my leftovers for lunch on Monday, and no one is the wiser that this was once my breakfast(except you guys now, but shhhh…). Only tried delivery. it is Sunday morning after all!

Yes, I was on a Chinese food kick this weekend. Chinese food for dinner for the past three nights. I feel absolutely awful today, but you know it’s true. Everything I do, I do it for you. So you won’t make these same mistakes I keep repeating. Again with the shredded lettuce in the vegetable fried rice. The rice was yellow, and tasted distinctly of Goya. Only when I drowned it in a mixture of soy sauce(from the juicy buns) and garlic sauce was it edible. The entrée was scallops and veggies in garlic sauce. The veggies were cooked well and the sauce was good, but the consistency of the four or five scallops I was given was rubbery, and it was very obvious this food was not fresh. The juicy buns were excellent and the high point of the meal. The low point? They didn’t even bring fortune cookies. 2.5 stars.
