The staff was helpful in finding a new lock for me. They weren’t that knowledgable in general about locks and the types available, however.
They do have a lot of handy tools and equipment in stock though — although some of them are completely outdated. I would most likely come back here again.

I came in here on a weekday afternoon to get a basic key copied — I didn’t need anything complicated, and this is exactly the kind of place I was looking for. The man and woman at the counter were attentive and friendly, and I was in and out of there in about 5 minutes! The key cost about $ 1.70, and they provided a ring and key tag as well. Best of all, they take credit cards (a lot of places like this only take cash for small purchases)!

I walked into this place on a Saturday around 8:45 AM and had 4 keys copied within minutes. I was sure to take cash because I expected a small business like this to have a credit card minimum. $ 7 and I was out of there just like that. Will def use this place again for any key copying.

Me and my roommates went here and asked to rent a steam cleaner, they said they could. What we got was a RugDoctor (which doesn’t produce steam,) and didn’t work either.
We got some of our money back on the rental, but not the soap solution we had to buy for the RugDoctor.
Will not shop there again, especially with other better hardware stores in walking distance.

It may seem silly to write a review for a neighborhood hardware store, but I’ve had some trouble with a few, and I felt the need to inform you that this one has been consistently good.
When I moved here, I first went to AAA Locksmith on Queens Blvd to get my keys copied. I had to go back 4 times to get them recopied because they didn’t work! Even after my 4^th try, the keys didn’t work and AAA didn’t give me a full refund! Triple Fail.
My landlord recommended Greenpoint Hardware. I’ve been going here for my hardware needs ever since. The staff is quiet but helpful and friendly. Every time they’ve copied my keys I’ve had no problems.
$ 10 Credit Card minimum.
