Why did Master Billiards close?(And become replaced by another $.99 store no less? But that is besides the point). In the comment section of the Sunnyside Post I asked why it had closed down and I didn’t get a response. I’m really curious. If anyone knows, please answer me otherwise I will contact the Chamber of Commerce. How could this happen!

Welcome back to an old-school pool hall! If you wanna shoot pool with some serious players, this is the place to be! The environment draws an interesting crowd… ;) Regulars come to watch games like football fans at bars. It’s cool to come with friends who also enjoy the game and the hours are flexible since they are open 24⁄7. The inside décor is old style and the house cues suck but regulars bring their own cues. It’s smokey here and there but it wouldn’t be an old-school pool hall then. They serve drinks but the food here is no frills. It’s not the place to be seen for Facebook pics but if you shoot regularly then you may appreciate the environment.

Back in my teenage years(*sighs ahhh the good old days) my friends and I used to come here a lot. I can’t for the life of me play pool well, I’m an ok player. I am however a champ in Crusin’ World, yahuh! The food and drinks are good here, not a fancy poolhall but who cares. We had fun and that’s all that matters. Their open really late too because there was a couple of times where we’d come from clubbing in the city and at 4 or 5 in the morning and they’d still be open, I don’t even know if they ever close. LOL.

the manager is an @$$hole…(fransisco) treats everyone like sh! t and is the reason the place doesnt get much business other than the regulars on tournament nights…(mon and wed).the staff doesnt speak ENGLISH!!! LOL… they are not helpful, and they can not understand you. ive been there quite a few times(for the tournaments) and everytime they have a new waitress… they have a full menu. but their chicken salad is the only good thing. WARNINGSTAYAWAYFROMTHEIRCHICHARONANDTHEIRHOTDOGSANDTHEIRBURGERS. other than that you will be okay… the regulars are nothing near friendly, and if you are females i suggest you go there with a few males to avoid being harassed by the nasty pool players… you might find a few homless pool players sleeping there too… lol alot of gambling and bad stuff going on there. so i suggest you go in morning hours(10 am to 4 pm) it can get roudy and uncomfortable afterwards… but if you love the game and love to gamble its the place for you i guess…

Master Billiards definitely isn’t the prettiest pool hall in the world, but it serves its purpose just fine. Located conveniently on the corner of 39th and Queens Blvd, it’s easy to access, but sometimes difficult to find parking. The staff is helpful, and the prices aren’t bad — and usually you can get away with smoking in between the double doors rather than standing outside in the cold(I don’t know if I should be saying that, but it’s not really INSIDE the establishment, but I’ll take this opportunity to say that the smoking ban is GARBAGE!)
