Absolutely the worst pool hall I’ve been too in a while. Over priced everything. Owned by a typical money hungry fat guy who was extremely rude. The service was super slow, we ordered some burgers and about 1 and half later it arrived and it wasn’t even that good to have taken that long. And to top everything off they include a service fee for all the horrible service they provided us. Amazing right ! I say avoid !

Typical old man foreigner hangout. Everyone was allowed to scream and wear sideways hats, but my friend couldn’t wear his hood. Ok… Plus this place is quite dirty. Go to break billiards on Broadway.

I come here often for lunch most of the time and weeknights to catch a game on TV. The place was renovated recently and has plenty of action for anyone looking to play pool. The food is amazing and the atmosphere is amazing. Highly recommended. A+++

Yes, the service can be slow, and way too many of the arcade games don’t work, but overall this is a fun and affordable place to play pool and enjoy a couple of brews. The beer selection is solid, and $ 12/hour for 2 people at a pool table is a very reasonable price in my book. Add in a relalxed atmosphere and a large number of pool tables, and you have yourself very nice pool hall. If you’re prepared to wait a bit — we waited about 45 minutes for a table, but it was a Saturday afternoon — Steinway Café is a fun weekend excursion.

Nice ambient, chilled people, everyone doing their own thing. BUT I waited 10 minutes to try to order a beer. Didn’t even get to order because I got tired of waiting and the people working there were all over the place. Some semi bald old round man, not sure If the manager or what was just sitting staring not trying to help. Then he has the nerve to complain about the group I was with saying we weren’t running on a check, meanwhile the people I was with were playing pool, had bought food, and some were in the back playing air hockey & shooting hoops. He had a problem with some of us being in the back just SPENDING money on the games. I loved the atmosphere but the people that work there… Horrible. I thought as long as you were spending $$ It was all good. Obviously you have to be running on a check… Meanwhile you can’t even buy a drink cause they’re all over the place. Super unorganized!

Not a bad place to play pool here. The people in the front were very rude and gave terrible service though. I would come back here but they need to know how to be more friendly in this type of environment.

These scammers make me sick! Ordered 2 pieces of food and drinks and waited 45 minutes. They make you wait just to play longer and pay more. Was not even brought any of the drinks while waiting. Just left and told them to cancel the food.

We came here on a Sunday night to play some pool. When we walked in no one was at the counter for about 10 minute. Finally someone came over to give us a table and it was just confusing. We were first timers here so we weren’t sure how or how much to pay… only found out at the end of the night when we checked out. The actual prices were not listed anywhere. As we were directed to our table we couldn’t help but notice a film and camera crew filming a game of pool nearby. My friend was watching the game of what seemed to be very experienced pool players when a member of the film crew came up to him and asked him to stop staring… turns out it was a reality tv shoot and they wanted it to «look natural». I didn’t want to be on a reality tv show yet I had to sign a waiver after the fact. A little annoying that no one asked before placing us at a table directly behind the filming. I guess they wanted to the place to look busy because every other table in the place out of view was empty. This place is good for return customers and reasonably priced but not the best for newbies looking to try something new.

Great place if you want to play competitive pool. The managers are doing a great job in promoting the game and bringing in different kind of tournaments for different levels of players. I also love the Greek Salad there and bean soup !!!

Great place for pool and very affordable prices. $ 9.95/hr for 2 people and $ 8.95 for one. I didn’t order any drinks or food so the rating is only for the pool hall itself. It’s a little old and vintage looking with a very old male clientele. Don’t expect cocktail service here though. The waitress came up to our table after an hour of playing. I would suggest just going straight to the bar. They also have a small corner of arcade games like air hockey.

Love this pool hall! Have been coming here for years. They always take care of the felt and the sticks.(only important if you actually play pool and care). Full bar, beers on tap and bottled. Food is good especially for a pool hall. Have the chicken special if you have time to sit and relax.

Great pool & amazing food! Greek desserts to die for! So many TV screens to watch all of the games at once. Clean, updated and open late. Perfect location right next to the R subway.

If you want to get down to a real nitty-gritty pool hall, this is a prime example of an old school billiard; it’s not fancy by any means, but it’s reasonably-priced. I came here with a group of friends after a birthday celebration nearby and the 8 of us split 4 ways for each table. I know what you’re thinking: «They let you do that? OMG. I can’t believe it. That’s not even a game.» Oh, trust me, it WAS a game. It is a pretty huge place and it got crowded after 11:30 – as in PM. Definitely not much in the younger crowd, but more people leaning towards their 40s/50s/60s(think middle-aged); it kind of gives this place a kick back to the old-school New York vibe. If it’s not pool, there’s tables where guys play cards. This place is just so bad-ass, I can’t even begin to describe how bad-ass it is. There’s also an arcade with a lot of machines that will bring you back to your high school years(at least for me). Not much to complain since the prices are pretty decent, although it’s not my type of scene. It’s in an area where you might not want to find yourself at night too often, unless you frequent the strip club across the street.

Once in a while I go to Steinway Billiards with my husband to play pool. During the week they have a deal for 2: 3 hours for $ 15. Its spacey and comfortable, they have chairs and stools all around pool tables. Food is okay, nothing special. I had bacon cheeseburger with fries. 3⁄5 Service is really bad. 2⁄5 We ordered food and waited almost 40 min. Then we called them from the service phone and got it 10 minutes after. I guess that they forgot. It wasn’t even busy. Also when we went to pay our check we had to wait again. Some old guy gave us our check, we paid, gave him the tip and he didn’t say anything. No thank you, bye, nothing! Music was horrible, Spanish music was playing the whole time! Also it was hot inside, I was all sweaty after 15 min of playing pool. It’s fun to go there to play pool, but that’s about it.

This is a very weird pool hall that was very crowded even on a weekday night. It feels like several different things at once. At one end is a counter with a bar and a bunch of older people hanging out on the stools. On another side are guys sitting around playing chess. Almost all the people here were older men in their 50s and up, mostly retired. The staff seemed like a miserable bunch — no smiles at all.

I saw Efran Reyes & Earl Strickland play 10 Ball here last night. It was packed but I still had a great view because they had the TVs with multi-angle views of the game in live action. Super cool. The waitstaff handled the busy crowd like real professionals, fantastic! The food looked and smelled delicious. Had a few wings, not a fan, but I would try another dish another time

This place has been here for a while. I love the space and theres always a lot of tables during the weekends can get a little busy and crowded but thats to be expected. The food sucks. But they have really good prices for beer and play time. The location is awesome, there’s an apple bees and a pizzeria UNO’s a block away and a Movie theater. This entire area is great for a night out.

Well for a pool hall and café this place ain’t too bad. Stopped by on a Monday cause my friend wanted to play in the tournament they have on that nite. The tables are kept in great condition. The place is a real pool players action room, with plenty of pro players coming and going. Earl Strickland is the house pro here and when he is there look for him on that 5×10 foot table by the front. One of the benefits here is the power play which is from Monday to Friday for a amazing $ 15.00 for 2 people for 3 hours between 11 am and 6 pm. That is one of the best deals in the entire tri-state area. Now the food is not cheap and that’s to be expected. I did have a Bacon Cheeseburger Deluxe which was OK. What I liked the most was the french fries dam they were great. Crunchy and cooked just right! I definitely would return here even though I live in Brooklyn it is a really great pool hall. Plenty of sport tv screens all over the place and men playing backgammon in the front. Nice vibe! Oh by the way my friend lost in the first round.
