Missing Café Mélange! Great food wonderful friendly service! Tuna cheddar pasta… was my favorite salad pick. «Wishing owners a wonderful retirment!»

I work down the road from here and used to come by every so often when I wanted more or less of a home-style made sandwich and was tired of Subway, Togo’s, Quizno’s, Erik’s Deli, and various other standard American fast food garbage. Unfortunately this place is no longer there and there is a huge sign on the door that says that Uno Mas will be coming soon. Sad Times!

Great salads. My favorite is their Chinese chicken salad they make a special dressing for it that is delicious. Great people, great service, great food!

For what it was, this place(when open) was good. Everything was freshly made each day. Sad to know they’ve closed down now, as of 5÷24÷13. Sweet family, I hope they’re doing okay wherever they are now.

I’ve been wanting to try out this place for a really long time and now that school is done for the quarter, I finally had the chance to go! CM is owned and operated by a korean couple which can explain why bibimbap is on the menu. I ordered the turkey bacon on dutch crust for $ 5 something and I was very pleased with my order. They also serve some korean food, salads and soups. I paid with my card and the lady used the phone card slider thingy and I just had to enter in my email/phone number as the receipt. Majority of sandwiches are $ 5 something plus 55 cents extra for cheese. There are NOHOURS posted anywhere at the door, but the lady told me they open mon-fri 7AM-3PM. I’ll be back again when I get the chance again.

Crazy mix of American and Korean food. You want a salad, sandwich or a bulgogi? nice folks working here, but it’s more of a convenience factor more than anything else.

I ordered a sandwich… «olei»? They don’t skimp on the chicken they put on the sandwich. Its like they gave me a big chicken breast. Flavor was a little lacking but good enough.

Having a hankering for a sammy, I stumbled into this place with my stomach ready for an experience. This place is situated in a small mini plaza surrounded by your typical silicon valley type buildings. Oddly enough direct competition is right next door at ToGos. I love myself a mom-&-pop place so of course I went here. I wanted something crispy and warm so I decided on the Sunnyvale Hot Foot. What’s great is that it takes less than 10 min to get your food. Nice and warm no frills grilled sandwich. I’m not sure about the quality or pricing since I’m sure I can recreate this sandwich if I wasn’t too lazy. But for someone who doesn’t want to make my own lunch, it’s pretty much good enough to hit the spot for a Friday lunch. The place is kind of weird inside. Just make sure you stand in the right line. The left is primarily for the warm entrees, the right line is for sandwiches. The one thing which is really weird was the smell of the place. Oddly cumin-y. I wish they would also spruce up the place. It’s a little dingy. But definitely, if I were to work nearby, I would come here instead of ToGos.

Came here the other day with coworkers who crazed their special 3 salad-combo. Never tried their salad but ordered a Chicken Burrito instead.(on their Daily Special). They microwaved my burrito. Yes, microwave. It tasted like it was precook the night before. Service is very friendly though. Owned by a Korean family.

When ordering a sandwich here, the first thing you’ll notice is that you’re not in an assembly line, produce-flinging food factory. Instead, you’re in a «food studio” — an abode of deli artistry void of pretention and fluff. But slow down. Observe how evenly and precise they spread the mayo, mustard, and … *shhhhhh… you hear that? Do you see? They’re handing you this beautiful hand-crafted, evenly distributed, perfectly-sliced turkey, cream cheese and cranberry sauce soon-to-be-inhaled sandwich. *Ahhhhhh. now that was totally worth the wait. Oh! And their chocolate chip cookies are… well… here we go again– *shhhhh… do you hear that?

this is right by work, so i come here when im sick of my usual café food. get the salad combo. for $ 6.50 you get heaping portions of up to three salads. there’s a large variety to choose from(note — these are premade and not tossed to order). my favorites include the classic egg salad, pasta salad, tuna with cheddar, and curry chicken. if you have a small appetite this can last for two meals, and it comes with a dinner roll. the place is owned by a korean couple. super friendly!

Café Mélange is located right next to Togo’s. I came by here recently and purchased a sandwich. There were many choices, but I picked the Sunnyvale Hot Foot on Dutch Crunch. The Sunnyvale Hot Foot consists of grilled chicken breast, melted monterey jack cheese, fresh salsa, avocado, and honey mustard. I enjoyed my sandwich, but wished the Dutch Crunch was crunchy. I’ll be back here to try some other items on their menu.

Where would I be without Café Mélange? A veritable oasis in the desert of Sunnyvale’s business parks. Well, maybe not that good, but certainly better than Togos(or whatever it is) next door. The sandwiches — the bread is very very good. The meat is alright, but the vegetables taste fresh. Salads — Quite a variety and not bad. Hot lunch specials — They always have something hot to eat, and it rotates daily. Haven’t really tried this since I stick to the sandwiches and salads. Chocolate Chip Cookies — Jesus, these are delicious. I don’t know how they make them, but the inside is always chewy. I could live off of these things. Overall, it’s a good place. I wouldn’t say the food is spectacular by any means, but it’s not bad at all(and large portions). Considering the area, it’s pretty good. The owners of the place(some other Unilocaler says Korean, so I’ll go with that) are very pleasant and serve you with a smile which is what kicks this place up from a 3 star to a 4 star in my book. The inside doesn’t look anything special, but my god those cookies are amazing. If you work in any of the nearby office parks you owe it to yourself to try out their sandwiches, salads, and cookies.

I discovered this place quite by accident; I was headed for the Togo’s, which is right next door, when I saw it. Normally I will always choose an independent place over a chain(unless I know it sucks) but in this case I didn’t want to have to deal with a new(to me) menu, so I went into the Togo’s anyway. It was the lunch rush though, and I didn’t feel like waiting, so I left and went into Café Mélange. The first thing I noticed is that they’re a lot cheaper than Togos! My sandwich was about $ 4, so I went ahead and ordered a double latte and chips. Total it came to slightly over $ 8, which is close to what I would have paid at Togos for just the sandwich. Their to go cups for coffee have a brilliant design that I’ve never seen before… It’s got a little slidey thing over the lid so you can slide it open or shut and not have to worry about spilling in the car. The latte was better than Starbucks. I didn’t see any for here cups. Next time I’ll ask if they can make me a cappuccino for here, if not I won’t bother. The sandwich was really tasty! I ordered turkey and cheddar on a sourdough roll, and it came with mustard, mayo, lettuce, and tomato, and all were really good. Last but not least, the service was great! They were really friendly, and really fast. Next time I want a sandwich I’ll definitely come here, and not to the Togos.

I love this place. I usually come here every day during lunch time; sorry Lockheed Martin, your cafeteria is awful. I usually get the hot meals, which vary each day. They give you 3 – 4 options per day for hot meals. if that doesn’t fit your fancy, You can also orders sandwiches and soups. or salads. I usually hate eating salad, but my GOD, their house ranching is. DABOMB. I never ate so much salad until that damn dressing – maybe, I should give them one star for making me eat healthy. HAH. I tried other restaurants around the area, but usually eating makes me feel tired. But here, I feel pretty good after lunch; Good price for the amount of food you’re getting. And like everyone says, it’s run by a nice asian couple(Korean from what I figured – since I’m korean myself). I avoid the korean dishes, since I can have that at home. 5-Stars(and if I cared about the furniture they’re using I would give them a 4-star, but I’m there to eat food.)

I stopped by here to pick up their salad combo for $ 6.25. I had the option of choosing three salads and they included a dinner roll as well. For what it is, it might be a TAD expensive. I would think $ 4.75 or even $ 5.25 would be the way to go. I chose: * Crab salad: yummy * Pasta salad: good. could use a kick of something or some chicken in there. otherwise a little bland * A common salad but I forgot the name: tomatoes, italian parsley, nuts. Healthy, so I likey. I would come again to try their hot food items and sandwiches and adjust my rating accordingly.

Café Mélange has a decent lunch selection for the area. I’ve never ordered anything besides their veggie sandwiches and the popular three-salad option. Their curry chicken salad is the best while all the others are quite bland, but again, not bad given the other options in the neighborhood. I’m generously giving this café a 3/5, because the owners are warm and friendly. The interior needs a serious face lift as I know the use of backyard furniture indoors has turned many people off.

3.5 stars. I started working in this area during the tech boom and people from my office would go to Mélange all the time for breakfast burritos, the 3 salad combo or their hot dishes that usually included at least one Korean special. At that time, there were a bunch of cafes serving lunch to the working masses but after the bust, most of them went away. Lately, I have been getting to work as the sun rises and leaving well after sunset. I am not a fan of this but a breakfast burrito from Mélange sometimes dulls the pain. It’s stuffed with eggs, hash browns, salsa, onions and, occasionally, bacon but somehow it’s not disgustingly big but perfectly filling. I have never eaten in and there is no ambiance to speak of but the owners are really nice and it’s quick to get in and out with decent food.

Typical little sandwich/Korean/La Bou-ish joint located in the generic business malls sitting on this highway scenic stretch of road. We came here due to restrictions on time and although I was thinking and reading their sandwich menu, I glanced over and thought I smelled Korean bbq! They serve bulgogi over rice, in addition to other hot plates. There is room for sitting on the other side as well as outdoor seating. The weather was warm and gorgeously sunny. I opted for the Turkey, Avo, and bacon sandwich with all the trimmings on the Dutch Crust roll. The roll was slightly chewier than I expected, but the sandwich very tasty. In addition, I ordered a pint of their egg salad, since it was yelling at me, with it’s yellow raincoat on. I purchased these items for a grand total of $ 7 or so!!! Sandwiches are cheap here, as are the side selections of their various salads(egg, curried, broccoli, Chinese Chicken, Noodle, and Seafood) in addition to soups and rice plates. Quick on the go, cheap on the wallet, and we were in and out of there within 10 minutes.
