Jakes is my favorite go to for a pitcher, wings, and pizza. Great eats and lots of tvs for sportS. It does get crowded so just be prepared.

It’s all about that crust. The crust is amazing. Crispy and crunchy! I thought I had to get really good thin crust or Chicago style pizza to get a crunchy crust, but Jake’s has it all figured out. Traditional American style pizza with medium crust, plenty of cheese and toppings. Soooooo. Much. Cheese. For toppings, you can’t go wrong with the garlicky Gilroy Special and the Combo. The pizzas taste pretty good the next day too, right out of the fridge or reheated in the toaster oven. YUM. A medium pizza will feed 2 – 4 people for less than $ 30. Plenty of beer on tap and lots of sports to watch. Open late. We were surprised they close at midnight on Sunday. Perfect. I can have my Jake’s pretty much anytime!

Per the recommendation of a friend, I went to Jake’s of Sunnyvale very excited and ready for a very good pizza. What I found was a pizza that ended up being a large pepperoni pizza for 20 something dollars so in return what I received wasn’t up to snuff. Crust is solid to the point where you can hold a slice by the edge of the crust without it bending, normally this would be kosher if not for the lack of sauce. This made it more crust than anything and made bites hard and crunchy. In addition to the general lack of sauce for such a rigid crust, the cheese was generous yet still if you’re going all out on the dough at least load up the sauce and cheese . Too expensive for the quality and crust was a deal breaker

This is our favorite pizza place in the area. The pizza is fantastic, made with high quality ingredients and delicious. The service is excellent. The manager yesterday evening was very attentive and courteous to me and my children, and he went above and beyond our expectations. This is a great family restaurant. Our all time faves: the pizza, any kind but especially the veggie because it comes fully loaded with all of the good, healthy stuff, buffalo wings, the fondue, zucchini sticks, french fries, and cheeseburgers. Jake’s has a huge dining room with lots of big screen televisions around. There is a fun little arcade where kids can play while their pizza is being prepared. The menu selection is huge so there are plenty of choices for those who are not a fan of pizza. The pizzas are excellent and there is such a wide selection of toppings. A pizza place like this needs to be kept in business or all of us will be at a loss. Eat at Jake’s!

I have been to Jake’s in Saratoga and they had great customer service. The Jake’s in Sunnyvale not so much. Big dude with glasses was sitting in one of the booths and stood up when I went to the counter. No, smile or how can I help you… he seemed irritated that I was there. Ordered my pizza and he just seemed like he couldn’t be bothered with even trying to have some semblance of customer service. I sometimes get the same attitude at The Garret too… like they’re doing me some kind of favor. Guess I’ll have to find a new favorite pizza spot or stick to Saratoga store where they treat their customers right.

So I am a pizza snob, there, I said it… That said, Jake’s is a solid win in my book. The pizza is typical American style, in that it is not thin crust, and not deep dish, but is just(what I consider) standard crust. This is my personal favorite type of crust, but this crust type is a fickle mistress. So frequently it ends up being some limp, doughy, excuse for a crust(think Little Cesars). Thankfully, this is not the case for Jake’s! The crust was crisp, without being burned, and the upper layer was perfectly cooked, not too doughy, and not too dry. As we all know, the crust, while important, is not the only critical component of a good pie, and Jake’s didn’t let me down here either. The sauce was a good mix of seasonings, without being overly salty, the cheese was a bit on the heavy side for my preferences(I should have asked for light cheese), and the toppings were fresh tasting, and not overcooked. The only complaint that I had topping-wise, was the sausage, who’s flavor just wasn’t my cup o’ tea(or ball of meat). Overall the pizza was very good, and with some minor tweaks to satisfy my personal preferences, it would be outstanding. Other things worth mentioning at this location were the beer selection(some solid IPA’s on tap, and reasonable prices/size options), and the big screens for your sports-viewing pleasure. In a nutshell, Jake’s has become my go-to pizza in the area, and I am looking forward to a repeat visit.

We came here because it was closer to friends than the Saratoga location. But I think the Saratoga location is better/more consistent. We ordered the old timer sandwich with curly fries, per usual. It was good, but service was slow and our fries were definitely overfried. Our friends’ sandwiches were a mixed bag — parts of some orders were mixed up(forgotten added bacon, for example). The fried cheese sticks were surprisingly good. Décor and layout is a bit awkward in this location, especially in the day time with the bar front and center. I’d recommend coming for dinner for a better experience.

This is a great place families, the menu consists of pizza, burgers, and other yummy gaming food. It is a bit pricey but the portion sizes and quality of food are so worth it! Also, this place is great for parties, get togethers, game day dates, and the list goes on. Fun and causal atmosphere.

Some of the best pizza out there! They have other options, but nothing beats their pizza. The bucket of wings are always good in front of a football game.

Why did it take me so long to try this place??? I’ve been struggling to find a pizza place I love, and not only is this my favorite, it’s also walking distance! They also have an arcade, good beer(always important), and very nice staff. One busy night there was a mix up when a family took our order. The owner apologized, brought out new pizzas as soon as they could, gave my husband a free beer, and also a gift card so the next pizza was on the house. Some places would’ve just apologized and moved along but he really went the extra mile. I highly recommend this place.

A little disappointing. We were in town for a soccer tournament and purchased a large pizza with 5 topping. Unfortunately you could see more cheese than anything else. Pizza was ok, but I’m not a cheese pizza fan. I love toppings

Ordered Food to go, the service was excellent! The pepperonis were flavorful, pizza was cooked to perfection with a buttery crunch(on regular crust not thin). Got tons of cheese sticks(usually places give 6 I’ve found), Jake’s gave a lot more than expected and were delicious! No pictures, I was too busy eating to document the food! Will be back!

Great customer service, large portion size for the pizzas, and a clean restaurant interior. I ordered a small pepperoni pizza and a glass of Lagunitas Little Sumpin’ Ale. The small pizza was actually the size of a medium pizza when compared to most other pizza parlors in the area. While the sauce wasn’t as robust as I would have liked it to be, the ingredients were nice and fresh. Regarding the glass of Lagunitas, it was as good as usual and went well with the pizza. I believe the person who took my order is Jose. He was very friendly with all of us at the bar and kept checking on us to make sure we were satisfied. A+ Regarding the exterior of the pizza parlor, it needs to be painted or upgraded in some way. When I first walked up to the building, it looked like they were closed for business. Also, the shopping center they are located in is in ruins… Even though I’m surrounded by many other pizza parlors, I’ll still make the trip to Jake’s again later on this year.

Came in here with Chris A. to catch the Giant’s game and fell in love. This place is definitely kid friendly, there were two groups of families with tons of kids who sat near the arcade area. Save for the screaming and fighting of the kids the place is really nice. You can order a pie and a beer and cozy up to watch some sports if that is your M. O… and it certainly was ours. We had the Gilroy Special: Zesty Ranch Sauce, Garlic, Chives, Green Onion, Pepperoni, Italian Sausage, Mushroom, and Fresh Tomato. Mozzarella and Monterey Jack Cheese… are you drooling yet? The crust was perfectly crunchy with cheese melted to the top so every bite was worth eating. I cannot wait to come back to try the other specialty pizzas!!!

Actually a pretty big fan of this chain. I thought the Boardwalk was the best though. Too bad it closed. Usually get the pizza which is really good. Sandwiches and burgers are decent but overpriced. Stick with the pizza. Super filling and good price. I particularly like the pizza sauce. It’s on the sweet side which is a perfect contrast to the salty cheese and toppings. Boardwalk had the perfect amount of sauce. Next time at Jake’s I’m going to ask for extra sauce. Chicken tenders and chili are good too.
