I ordered a combo #2, which gives a veggie curry and a meat curry, 2 pieces of roti, yogurt, and vegetables. I got the mixed vegetable curry and the fish(if you’re curious about how something tastes, ask to sample it!). The fish flavor was pretty good although a bit salty, and the pieces of fish were not fresh at all. The vegetable curry was great though; the flavor was good and there were lots of vegetables and not too much oil. I enjoyed the vegetable curry a lot more than the fish curry. Veggie curry deserves 4 stars, fish 3 stars, roti 3.5 stars, vegetables on the side 3 stars. I think averaged together, overall is almost 3.5 stars. Quantity is good for the price(less than $ 10 including tax), and the restaurant is quite clean. I’ll probably give it another chance if I’m around the area.

I had a togo order of bahel puri chat, aloo paratha, saag and mukai roti, pain puri, and garlic naan. Every single item was amazing! Some things to note– chat was soggy when we got it because they had added sauces to it when packing, maybe consider asking for sauce on the side for to go orders. Pani puri was a bit expensive for only 7 – 8 puri’s, grocery store next door has two boxes for five dollars. The saag was out of this world– definitely one of my favorites! I would recommend to anyone looking for authentic Punjabi food.

Awesome quality for inexpensive dishes. Combos for 9 bucks are enough in quantity for a full fledged meal. Definitely a go to place for both lunch and dinner.

A nice buffet kinda style Indian restaurant. We like their combo options they have. Especially the Navratna Korma and bindhi and makki di(corn) roti. Big portions, tasty food, good prices and friendly service. They even offer samples before you pick your combo. We’ll be back!

A five starer right away!!! They have fresh chapatis(rather than just naans)— what else can one ask for! Completely felt as if I was eating«ghar ka khhana»(home cooked indian meal). Loved the clean and casual dining ambience, friendly staff and the soft music added more to the environment. Their fish curry and bhindi masala were too good with a perfect ending to dinner with chai! Thank you for hosting us, Kings of Punjab!

Best Punjabi parathas in South Bay with complimentary chai on the side. Didn’t try any other combos… seems like Punjabi saag and maki di Roti is very popular item. Will definitely add to the bookmark.

The combo is a great value! Got the 1 vegi(Saag) and 1 butter chicken combo and you get basmati rice, a yogurt palate cleanser, veggies, and it comes with your choice of garlic naan or roti. We also got the mango lassi which was delicious. They also offer hot chai as well on the house. The highlight was the garlic naan which was fluffy, warm, fresh and lightly oiled.

In bay area, after the Afghanan’s baloni is best(equivalent to aloo paratha). But here at this place I experienced best and authentic aloo, onion and gobhi paratha. Thin and crisp and prepared in less oil. Served with raita with an essence of mint. I could feel how much love has been served with food. Just afraid this consistency should be existing for longer duration and the Kitchen chef needs to retain it. I found paratha and roti little expensive but it was worth to pay if I was not getting the thick version of it usually which you get all other famous places for Indian or punjabi food. Certainly this is different because of their sabji and kadhi which too good and mouth watering and moderate spicy. Don’t try tea there, it sucks.(They do not charge for it) My friend also confirmed that chicken and goat meat preparation was delicious. Most importantly they cared about their customer. I had a complaint for their food last evening and they accepted their fault and offered me replacement.

This review is mainly for the biryani and their service! IMHO, the best biryani in the US is served here. It’s not hyderabadi biryani, so don’t come expecting it. It’s more Bombay/Sindhi style and I love it! M The service is great too! The combo items are nice, especially lamb! But the biryani is the bomb!

This place is sheer disappointment. Not sure why they’ve such high ratings. I ended up trying Combo#2(1 Veg Curry and 1 Non-Veg Curry) and Saag with Makki di Roti. The only good thing at this place is Saag. All the items(veg and non-veg) in Combo#2 were way below standard than any other Indian restaurant in the locality. The hospitality and service is good but they should pay attention to the taste and quality of the food! I don’t think I’ll return just for Saag.

Me and my wife both had combo 2(one vegetarian and one non vegetarian portion) but we tried different meats and vegetarian dishes. The daal was good and saag was excellent. They manage to have authentic Indian flavors without using ‘masala’. They are probably a bit less spicy than other Indian restaurants but I see that as a good thing. They also have a nice bright and clean feel.

1 – 1.5STAR. Kings of Punjab was an utter disappointment. Not sure where the 4 star rating on Unilocal came from. Maybe it’s a bunch of people who are friends with the owner or the people who work for, but it was definitely our last time going here for lunch — that’s for sure. There were a total of 4 of us who went to Kings of Punjab a couple weeks ago for lunch. We have been trying out new places in the Cupertino area once a month, and this month we decided to try out a new Indian place. The reviews looked promising and all, but when we went in, and saw that there weren’t that many people having lunch there at noon on a Friday(there was only 1 other table of 4), we got concerned. We walked up to where they had all of the food options, and saw that you get to choose from basically one of 3 combos. I chose Combo 3 for $ 8.99, which comes with 2 non-veg curries, 2 chapatis, rice, raita, pickle, and salad. I ended up getting the butter chicken and the chicken curry. As you can see in the picture below, there is barely any meat in the butter chicken or my chicken curry. Flavor-wise, barely any taste. They said the chicken curry was supposed to be spicy… well, it wasn’t at all. When you look at the combo box, you can see that it is all rice, the«salad» was literally just lettuce with no dressing on it, and the raita tasted funny. The 2 pieces of chapatis were basically just tasteless bread. Words can’t even begin to describe our disappointment. At least the people who worked there were really friendly. However, that doesn’t save the experience. Definitely not returning. Definitely DONOTRECOMMEND. Go to Peacock Indian restaurant off of De Anza and Stevens Creek instead. Trust me.

First the good: The garlic naan is awesome, glistening fresh out of the oven. And the price value at $ 6.99 for more food than I could eat in the vegetarian combo platter can’t be beat. But the saag dish was only saag, not saag paneer, and it was not that flavorful, and was also too spicy hot for my tastes. I thought I would combine it with the malai paneer, which was yummy, but I was only served 5 small paneer cubes in a sea of sauce. I ended up mostly eating the naan and feeling rather starch-laden after the meal. Sorry but not coming back.

Visited Kings of Punjab yesterday for dinner with the hubby. We were pleasantly welcomed by the enticing smell of flavors inside the hall, it was very tempting for the both of us and I bet it would’ve been the same for rest of the others seated inside. The restaurant is fairly small sized with around 40 seats to dine-in(No outdoor seating). It looked all new, spic & span. It’s just a month since they’ve opened it and the crowd seemed to have spotted them well. Restaurant looked busy, which is a glad news for the budding business, but at the same time the team was clearly facing the problem of scaling. Being a Friday night, there were lot of eager first-time customers(like us), however, many of them were waiting in line either to place order or to take delivery. Since the facility seemed short staff, there were some delays being experienced by all customers. The staff at the bill counter were still learning the ropes, were dependent on the owner for many clarifications. All these seemed to be growing pains. Given the fact that both the food & the service(Staff, generally courteous & friendly) were really good, I believe that if they can address these minor issues, this business will definitely flourish. Our Picks from their menu, *All items were served Hot & Fresh. 1. Makki De Roti & Saag($ 7 approx.) — It’s a corn flour bread with butter, good & tasty. Side dish Saag had just the right flavors & tasted homely. 2. Channa Batura($ 7 approx.) — It’s again a bread type, made of ‘all purpose flour’. Fluffy, big but very thick. Although all the items of our order were served Hot, they were served all together and hence, Batura became cold & slightly hard by the time we had. Side dish Channa was OK. 3. Dahi Bhalla($ 4 approx.) — It’s a popular snack in India. Great choice and we liked it. Additional Unilocal Tips, — Purchase their Unilocal deal, $ 15 for $ 20 deal. The offer is currently on. — They’ve Unilocal’s Eat24 Order Online. Make use of it & enjoy. Like I said earlier, there are only few minor hiccups here and there, which am sure they’re and will work on for betterment. I’d love to go back again and check how they’re doing at a later point in time. I’l then update my rating accordingly.

I’m probably not the best person to be reviewing an Indian food. After all, I only had three Indian meals in my life. Located in the same complex as Phở Wagon, this vibrant Indian mainstay offers Indian cafeteria-style at a super cheap price. I came for an early lunch, and even though the sign says they opened at 11 a.m., it wasn’t until 11:30 where all the food arrived on trays — at least, we know that they made the food fresh! I got their meat combo 1(they offer Vegetarian options as well). It comes with your choice of meat and side dishes; I picked butter chicken and saag. They also served it with salad, Indian yoghurt and individual served fresh naan bread– All of which were delightful and perfectly sized. I especially love their butter chicken, so creamy and flavorful. Overall, this is a great place to go for a quick, simple and delicious Indian food. I would be back if I’m in the mood for it and fill up on their $ 6.99 Lunch combo — cause holy that’s cheap!

Sad to admit but the Saag(and maybe all food) here is better than Naan&Curry! It’s a clean Spot too! Good customer service(like complimentary tea) and great attention to detail(clean water jugs, table, glasses)! I think we found our new Indian spot in Sunnyvale! –Happy Eatings!

Located in a strip mall, it is a clean interior with a combination of tables and a wall with half booth/table seats. You can order from the buffet or from their menu of specialty items like Dosa and other a la carte dishes. I enjoyed my meal here, and I am curious about trying some of the other items on the menu — enough to return. The flavors were nice, if not very mild in spice/heat. I ordered a two combo vegetarian meal, a paneer dish and a korma. It was decent, creamy and good veggies. The paneer tasted fresh. I also ordered a chole bhatura, idli sambar and some lemon rice to go. The chole had some good flavor, though lacking spice and the lemon rice was nice but less tangy and more nutty with the rice flavor and spices used. They are still working out their timing with the kitchen for items not on the buffet. It seemed in general to take quite a long time for items to come out(on a Sunday afternoon at 3ish). People waiting for to go food and for items ordered in the restaurant were really waiting awhile. In fact, the lemon rice I ordered took a very long time to get — but it was all handled with true grace and kindness(giving me an extra portion that I didn’t order) that is good customer service. Many smiles of apology found here, but I hope they get a better pace on everything. Good note for parents: the ladies bathroom is decent and has a changing table for babies!
