I’ve been going to lucky cuts for as long as 5+ yrs and have been satisfied almost every time. Now I take my toddler boy too and they do a pretty good job on the little ones hair. They take appointments over phone and transact with cash only. Their prices are $ 8 which is pretty economical considering the factor of bay area. I highly recommend this place for adults as well as kids.

I have been going to this place for 3+ years I believe. I must say, I am extremely satisfied. Nice and friendly family running the show.

I’ve been going to Lucky cuts for as long as I can remember. They list haircuts for $ 8 in big letters in their window. And at the cash register in smaller letters they list cash only! There are times to go, and times not to go. I try to go on a Friday evening or Saturday morning, so that the hair has a chance to grow out, before going back to work Monday. I don’t want to shock my co-workers seeing me transformed from a hairy mammoth to a billiard ball overnight! So I rarely get my hair cut on weekdays, when there is nobody waiting. Coming here on weekends is a real pain, as seemingly the whole valley comes in for a haircut. Blue collar crowd, in jeans and tennis shoes, mainly middle aged men like myself –OK I’m no longer middle aged, but like to think of myself as middle aged! I’m getting a buzz, while the wife is shopping at nearby Felipes Grocery Store on Grape and El Camino, in an adjoining shopping strip. One day I get in right at the opening bell, at 9am on Saturday. There is one other person, a regular already there. The co-owner calls him by first name to the chair first. No problem. 30 seconds later a Samoan looking guy and his kid come in, and then the second barber. The second barber is busy setting up a chair, and getting supplies, when the Samoan walks up, and guides his kid onto the chair! I guess some guys don’t understand the concept of first come first served! Now I’m not about to make a scene in front of the kid, but after the kid’s haircut is done, the Samoan get his hair done, while the first customer is still under the blade. So I end up waiting 20 minutes, even though I got in before the Samoan and his kid. Sometimes I get here at 445pm on Fridays, only to see a number of women with their children in for haircuts already seated. I do not see many women getting their hair cut here. I guess it’s good enough for their kids, but not for their precious princess hairdos! I do notice that the regulars prefer the two brothers giving them a haircut, rather than the women barbers. The men seem more experienced at giving hair cuts. And both of them seem to be losing their hair, with less hair than me, even though I’m 20 years older! The lady barbers seem to be more open to conversation –about the weather, where you live, how many people in your family, best Vietnamese restaurants, general chitchat. No talk about sports. The Giants and the 49ers don’t exist in their world. No overhead TV. Sometimes, the barbers will talk to each other in Vietnamese –probably telling each other to hurry up, as there are customers waiting! At the end of the haircut the lady barber will show me the mirror, and I will feel my hair, to check the length in the back. That’s the problem with having to take off your glasses –can’t see much without them! The lady barber will always wind up a haircut saying in heavily accented English: ‘You now handsome man!”

I did a haircut at Lucky Cuts just today. I went all the way from San Jose to this place since I was going to be around. The staff is friendly, gets your haircut done swiftly, the price is great and the haircut was GREAT. I used to go to SuperCuts but I think my cut today was way better than any SuperCut I had previously. I told the lady to cut it short. She cut the hair to suit my face rather than cutting it way too short. They do not accept any cards and takes only Cash which is no big deal.

Excellent haircuts from very friendly staff. I went to the great clips up the road and was told there would be a 45 minute wait by a rather rude stylist. Decided to try this place because it was nearby. For $ 8 you get an EXCELLENT haircut. There was no wait and the haircut looks great. Save your time and $$$ and give these guys a shot.

No nonsense, no gimmicks, efficient, better haircuts than 40 $ places, loyal clientele, 18 years old and still going strong.

Best value haircut joint. $ 8 for a simple men’s cut. And make no mistake: It’s very much a cash-only establishment:

Fast easy and good price! The family that run this place have been there go so many years and thy do a very good job. They take their time with each customer and always smile. The place is a bit out dated and would be nice if it gets cleaner. Other than that, their service and price is much better than the big store chains such as supper cut.

Lucky cuts is a place to get a haircut. Nothing fancy here. Local Vietnamese cutters $ 8, and very good cutting skills. They take the time with each cut, never rushed. suggest to call in and make an appointment. Helps when it gets crowded. Great cut, great price.

Maybe it is called Lucky Cuts because you are lucky if you get a certain stylist. Well I got Kim and she did a fabulous hair cut for me and really took her time. I think for my long hair the price I paid was a good deal. If you are in need of a quick trim this is the place to go. Funny but I found some beautiful barrettes here for only two dollars and I got many complements on them.

Kim did a great job on my hair cut and was very sweet and courteous. I once thought this place was not good. I gave it a chance again and glad I did, ask for Kim.

It’s $ 10 for a women’s haircut, $ 65 for highlights. The haircut is a great deal for the price! The highlights were done with a lot of care and look great, although it’s a tad expensive. It’s a very bare-bones place, and the line can get pretty long on weekends(~40 minutes wait) — so I suggest coming here on a weekday. Both my haircut & my highlights were done by the young-ish female barber with a young daughter who sits by her, I highly recommend her. She’s now my regular barber. I used to go to another place nearby, but the stylist got way too popular and his phone started ringing off the hook like he was some kind of celebrity. Then he’d stop mid-haircut to answer the phone. Finally he started wearing Kanye sunglasses, and that was the last straw. How can you properly see someone’s hair if you’re wearing Kanye sunglasses?! What if you cut off their ear instead?! I would name the place, but my folks still go there and I’m afraid that if I give it a bad review the stylist with attitude will banish them forever! Sorry for the tangent, but I knew I had to go elsewhere to get personal attention and care — and Lucky Cuts gives me that. I give them a solid 3 stars.

It’s a cheap place to get a haircut($ 7.99 last check). What I like is that I can get in and out in about 15 minutes or so. The barbers(save for one and trust me you’ll know which one when you get there) aren’t talkative which is fine with me. I just want to get my hair cut and move on with my life. If you like you hair cut a certain way, just tell them and they’ll do it(or the best that they can). If you like the way someone cuts your hair, make sure you get their name and remember their face and have them cut your hair every time you go there. That’s what I do and I have no complaints. I’ll even wait until my barber is free to get the cut I want. Even when they are busy, the line moves pretty quickly. If you call ahead you can make an appointment to avoid the wait. If you go here make sure you bring cash. They don’t take credit cards.

they are cheap. I’ve been going here for more than 10 years when the price of a haircut was 5.99(currently 7.99). I get my haircut every two weeks so I’m definately more concerned about price than the overall quality of the cut. after 10 years they’ve ironed out how to cut my hair I hope.

They maybe super cheap but stay away. The color on my hair wore off in a day as they use some really cheap color. When I left the salon the grey’s were not even covered completely. I think Jeannie’s is definitely good for hair color.
