Excellent catering services here. I have used this Palace Café for birthdays, office functions, and wedding parties. Really professional folks who take the time to get all the details perfect for a special event.

They don’t have most of the dishes in the menu and couldn’t even remember the dish I ordered. Bad customer service.

I really don’t get all the good reviews for this place. I have been here three times now and had the huevos ranchero every time. The first time it was delicious, the last two times were terrible. The chips were a soggy mess and the eggs were so over cooked they were like rubber. This last visit was the worst. It took over 20 min to get our food and we were the only people there. I ordered the eggs over easy to make sure they weren’t overdone like last time. When the server brought my order she said she she was sorry but the egg was a little more done than I ordered. I checked it and it was like rubber again. I told the waitress that it was too over cooked for me, but I didn’t have time for them to redo my order. She just said«ok, sorry about that. So, I give this place one star for the food and 1 star for customer service. Would give zero stars if I could.

I stopped in for a quiet Sunday morning brunch. The waitress was very welcoming and friendly. I had the Benedict, which was very tasty, and a side spinach strawberry salad, perfectly fresh. There were only a few other people inside, very relaxing. I will definitely be back to try their lunch menu.

If you think that the Palace Café is just a little café that serves some salads and sandwiches for the lunch crowd on Murphy Avenue you are missing the best part. I was looking for a caterer for my wife’s birthday party. A friend of a friend suggested the Palace Café for catering the party. I talked to Dianna who listened carefully to my plans and crafted a menu for the evening. After an iteration to fine tune the menu and price she and Jane came over to the house to survey for the event. On the day of the party Jane, Louis, and chef Juan arrived early to setup and transform our house. The team was very helpful helping prep and make drinks in addition to walking appetizers around our smallish party. As the evening progressed, Jane would come over to me and suggest that it was a good time to make a speech or make Happy Birthday wishes. At the end of the party, they moved the left over food onto our serving dishes, cleaned, and left us to our after party. Everyone really enjoyed the food and I really appreciated the hard work they put in to make the party enjoyable for me. I’ve never used a caterer before and now I’m sure this won’t be the last time I do.

Just had them cater my twins 1st birthday! The food was amazing and I kept getting compliments on it. Dianna and Leslie were most pleasant when dealing with the whole process of ordering and delivery. I knew what I wanted and they were able to make it happen! Prior to having them cater, my husband and I would(and still do) frequent this place for brunch and or coffee. Such a great place to kick back and have a nice meal. On a nice day its perfect for outdoor seating with the stroller! One time they made an honest mistake on our food during a busy lunch day– they were not only apologetic but gave me some free coffee to go. Always willing to make their customers happy. And they sure do!

Sunday mornings on Murphy Street are very peaceful. This restaurant is one of the few that are open early on Sundays. On my first visit I had the breakfast burrito. Nicely presented nicely with fresh fruit, good tasting burrito eggs cook softly. Side of sausage was very tasty. Will recommend.

I came here a few times before justto give them a fair chance, but I wasn’t that impressed ever . The croissants are AWFUL plain. When they toast it and put butter on it helps, but I think croissants should be delicious, buttery and flakey on their own. I had a whoopee pie there, took one bite and tossed it. Not to mention, they gave me a pumpkin spice one, when I asked for chocolate. They should know the difference between a chocolate and pumpkin spice whoopee pie, which was probably sitting there for over a week . I won’t be back.

Palace Café catered an outdoor dinner for 35 people at my home on Friday. The service was terrific, the food amazing. Diana came to my home one month prior to plan for the event. She was very responsive to any requests and attentive to every last detail. The presentation of the passed hors d’oeuvres and buffet meal platters was wonderful. The staff was so polite, friendly and attentive throughout the event. I look forward to hosting future parties with Palace as my caterer in the future. What a terrific experience from start to finish.

They have a bunch of catering vans. When I park in the lot behind the restaurant they always park behind me blocking me and other customers in. Rude jerks. Stop doing that!

If you were around back in the mid 90’s, you might remember the Palace Nightclub directly across from Palace Café. In its heyday Joey Altman(google him if you don’t know who he is) was the executive chef, excellent food and classy ambiance. Not sure how long he was there but the food was superb. Unfortunately the Night club went bust and a number of down market establishments have taken over the space over the years. It is a pity because the inital makeover from movie theatre to event space was well done. The Palace Café was the catering arm of the nightclub. The café has a nice ambiance, it is our go-to place for breakfast in downtown Sunnyvale. The breakfast food is average(although the prepared food in the display case looks tempting). Our recent visit we had mixed service. We noticed dirty dishes on the tables outside, despite the place being empty the counter staff was not clearing the tables, seemed to be just going through the motions if you know I mean. We sat outside and talked about how the place seemed to be going downhill. Suddenly a young woman appeared asking if we would like coffee refills, she cleared the tables and asked if we needed anything. Added a star for her friendly and professional service. Also on a side note, we were there the morning of the farmers market, Murphy street is packed, there were maybe 4 or 5 customers in the café, I guess that says it all. Too bad because it is in a good location, has nice ambiance.

This was my first time coming to the Palace Café. As soon as I walked in I was taken into a new atmosphere, a mellow, shaded room with gorgeous lamps dangling above, a small wine/beer bar on the right, a refrigerator display of their lunch entrees, 3 huge menu blackboards with their options ranging from hot/cold sandwiches, salads, breakfast, and of course their coffee menu. The server was on her own when I got there, and a few more people arrived after I placed my order. She was overwhelmed and because of this I didn’t feel I get proper attention; for example I was going to order a mimosa after my order but seeing the line and her other orders decided against it. She was extremely friendly and quick with her serving ability. Now I got the Café Benedict plate with a side of oatmeal. The Benedict was a English muffin sandwich with sausage; and 2 poached eggs drizzled in a cheese sauce that was mostly cheddar. The eggs were perfectly poached. The oatmeal was the right consistency. My hot apple cider was a sweet hot treat. The chef was very courteous. I’ll be coming back. This meal was truly worth it.

the ham and gruyère panini was tasty, the orzo salad was ho-hum, the«nutty professor» latte was okay, and the service was good. HOWEVER… i didn’t like that i had to kill 15 gnats flying around my face during the hour and a half that i was seated near the front window. =( the food and service alone i’d give a 3 star rating. the fly factor is what dropped it to a 2. so… if you don’t need to work there and can get your food to go, i’d recommend doing that.

The food and coffee here are only passable, but we gave them another chance today, which was a big mistake. Their service, while friendly, is always very slow, and today we waited 45 minutes for two sandwiches, because the lady at the till had forgotten to send our order to the kitchen. We weren’t the only ones visibly frustrated by the well-staffed but unreasonably slow kitchen, and it wasn’t particularly busy, either. When we finally got our order, it was wrong, and extremely greasy. The employees were extremely gracious and apologetic about the order mistake, but there were just too many issues in need of resolution, and I don’t think I have enough time in my life to go back and wait for the mediocre food.

Three half slices of French toast. No cream cheese available for the bagel we ordered(although they did give us a free scrambled egg in place of the missing cream cheese). They brought two sets of utensils even though there were four of us sitting there. They brought over four types of hot sauce but no black pepper. My wife ordered scrambled eggs with her huevos rancheros and the eggs were fried instead. My son didn’t like the fried eggs. The butter was in a little packet and pretty cold and hard. The syrup was prepackaged and not good. I like real maple syrup, and for the price of the French toast you would think you would get real maple syrup especially ’cause you only get 3 half slices of French toast.

Friendly but poor service. Average to subpar food and drinks. — employees were all smiles and happy to accommodate requests — the order service was very slow and I feel at times even though 3 people were working in front they were sort of just waiting on one another — all ‘iced’ drinks mean making the hot drink and quickly pouring it into a cup with a few blocks of ice(this may anger a number of iced coffee drinkers) — they got 3⁄3 of our orders wrong(not iced or missing an espresso shot) which they were willing to correct(but see prior comment) — cookie was large and soft but the overall taste was just okay Small sized drinks are all a bit under $ 5.

Trying a something new on Murphy strip ! Highly recommend from a Unilocal friend. Of course I was directed to another awesome place. As soon as you walk up to Palace Café & Catering the outside seating area says it all. Relaxing, unasuming with the spash of great customer service. Palace Café & Catering has the most interesting and cool décor(pictures) hard wood triming with the dark earth tones. You will see many assort wine bottle displayed on their wine racks. From My friends I hear this is an excellent place to take a glass of wine after work. I bet the lunch crowed !! Whoo hooo !! I will say the young ladies that work here are expremely nice and courteous. Of course did my check-in with the trusty Unilocal app«You can received a cookie of your choice » wow !! yummy I love free stuff .lol They have many items on the menu from salad, soups, Vegetarian Sandwiches, wraps, to even Breakfast !! Hot Sandwiches and cold … for a first timer here I though let start this off easy… Salad Organic mixed greens with Gorgonzola, walnuts herb vinaigrette and grilled garlic toasts. I needed a little more so i requested a little grilled chicken on top. I was expremely delighted with my salad & chicken … the Chicken was marinated so it was very tastey, savory not dry ! the greens are fresh and vinaigrette was evenly delivered. Bottle rootbeer to go with my meal. The whole meal was very easy on my pocket book !! I see so many more things I want to try at Palace Café & Catering. Service was OUTSTANDING !! My server even gave me crushed salt & pepper. It nice to east at a resturant where your servers are smiling. :) Thank you !

I work right down the street from here so sometimes I’ll come here to grab a quick lunch. They a variety of salads, entrees, soups, and sandwiches, and it changes up frequently. They have awesome cookies and desserts too, along with coffees. It’s hard to resist the temptations of their yummy desserts! I always grab something to-go and I never dine-in but it looks like they have a following of sit-in diners too. They also have breakfast/brunch selections, which I’d like to come back and try sometime.
