I believe this is a family ran dive bar. In the back is a covered patio with a pool table where you can hang out and smoke while playing. Yes!

WOW!!! Came down to Sunnyvale for an event with a group of friends. We ended up at The Patio in Sunnyvale. There was a large sign on the front door saying«Zombie Apocalypse» with bloody hand prints(I am hoping were fake) on the doors and walls going into the bar. Also a piece of wood standing upright with bloody fencing wrapped on top. We all stopped and then decided to go in because it couldn’t get any worse inside. Wrong… It was worse and we didn’t even get past the front door before turning around and booking it out of there. The place was packed with people dressed up as zombies and they all turned and stared. A woman picked up a plastic head that had mock blood all over it and held it up to one of my friends and gave her an odd look. Chuckie dolls were the decorations of choice other than the crock pot full off little weiners in BBQ sauce(I think that is what it was) sitting on a perfectly good pool table. Mind you this is not halloween it is the end of July. All I can say is keep driving because that visual will never leave my mind. Freaky!!!

We had a great time here last night. If you go make are to get there before the cover, it’s only 5 bucks and it usually starts around 10:30. They have a great patio outside that’s kinda smoky but fun, the drinks are strong :) and the beats are bumpin. Last night they actually hired a drummer to play and it was awesome. If you see a long line, don’t fret, the line actually loves really quickly. The security is very tight though so don’t think about sneaking anything or anyone in.

This bar is chill, cheap drink and an indoor patio. Just your average bar, not too many people come here. My complaint that that it’s too dark. There’s not enough people for it to be so dark.

Still love this bar, I am there at least once a week(DON’T JUDGEME!!) And the staff are like family(cause their family owned) drinks are cheap, Friends are loud, and they always have a special of some type going on. I love the back area(THEPATIO) where you can drink, smoke(cigarettes, none of that funny stuff), Play pool and throw some darts. or you can play arcade bowling… awesome!

Love this place. I came here with my boyfriend, my roommate, and her boyfriend. My first impression as we approached this was«this is totally a dive bar». Wasn’t sure what to expect, but was pleasantly surprised The people in there are almost all regulars. My roommate’s boyfriend was a regular too so he introduced us to the other customers and even the owners. The atmosphere was super chill and cool. It felt like I was at a friend’s house, not so much a bar. I’ve never had that feeling in any other bars before. And the owners — you could tell the bar was their hobby and it’s awesome that they’re enjoying what they do so much. The drinks were cheap and there were pool tables and all sorts of video games. There’s even a virtual jukebox! There’s a smoking area out back if you’re into that. I’m not a fan of smoking and actually hate the smell, but for people looking to smoke and drink at the same time this would be a good option. Would definitely want to come back.

Chill place to relax for a beer. Good happy hour prices, friendly atmosphere, great patio. Indoor and quasi-outdoor pool tables, darts and pinball. Smoker friendly but not overwhelming. Very low-key. I wouldn’t bring a date here but it’s a nice place to kick back for an hour.

The Patio is an awesome neighborhood bar with stiff drinks that are reasonably priced, friendly people, and amazing bartenders. The parties they throw once a month are always a blast. It’s definitely my favorite bar in town.

One of the friendliest«local dive» bars I’ve ever been to, great place to check out if your in town and as the name suggests; they have a very cool covered patio section out back.

My favorite bar in town. This place has friendly regulars, great drink prices, pool and darts(both inside and out), and the parties they throw about once a month at always a great time. Many or the regulars, myself included, smoke cigars on the covered back patio while shooting pool, throwing darts, or just hanging out chatting. This is a great bar on Fridays or Saturdays if your looking for a hot spot with lots of great people. Sunday’s and Monday’s are more low key and offer a great variety of B-class movies or 80’s horror films on TV.

Hey, if you want a local dive bar, this is the place! While not much to look at from the outside, and easy to miss as you drive down El Camino Real, it turned out to be a friendly and comfortable place to meet friends and/or have a drink. They have reasonably priced drinks, but no beer on tap unfortunately, though they have a okay selection of bottled beer. A couple of pool tables, several televisions, electronic dart boards and video games give you plenty of diversions, along with the namesake back patio.

love this place. pretty much a regular now thanks to my boyfriend. drinks and stiff and cheap. eclectic mix of people from young hipsters to travelling japanese business men and old regulars. there’s a few weirdos but they’re harmless and make for good conversation because lets face it you’ll talk to just about anyone when your hammered haha. if your a younger female like myself you’ll definitely find someone to buy you a drink or 5. there’s a parking lot in front but it can get pretty busy on weekends so drive around back and there’s another lot along with a back entrance thought the enclosed«patio» ONLYCON: dont hang out in the back patio area if your sensitive to smoke like me, its pretty smoky back there but its no biggie bc you can just hang in the front near the bar and juke box :]

Honestly, this is not a review. If you’re not a rowdy d-bag or a horrifically sloppy drunk girl who can’t find her way to the bathroom or the back of a cab(actually come to think of it, these are allowed more often than not), you’ll be welcomed at the Patio. Becca and Tom are amazing. They put so much into the place and we, those who frequent and have become part of this divey little party we call Bay Area weeknight life, love them for it. Oh, and if you don’t, you’re welcome to return to d-bag country.

Pretty good dive. I came for my sister’s birthday and although the«patio» area in the back was clogged up with smoke, sitting at the bar was pretty chill. Bartender was nice, even got a free drink. As with all the dives I’ve visited recently, the crowd is pretty colorful with very friendly regulars. Prices are where you’d expect a dive’s prices to be too. I can definitely see myself coming back.

Despite all the positive reviews, Unilocalers,…It’s a dump filled with people who look like they don’t want to sit next to you, and definitely don’t want to serve you! Same goes for that rat-hole; the Oasis.

Don’t quite remember how i ended up here but i brought 2 friends with me since we desperately needed new bar grounds to explore. Very dive-y there is a pool table, several tables with stools. bar flies buzzzzzin but not obnoxiously, so this i very much llike. my first night there, the kind lady bartender offered us free cupcakes(from a birthday?). i looked hungry and was hungry so helllll yeah! my second visit, the«cowboy» had bought the entire bar a round on him. Cupcakes and alcohol fo freeeeeeeee? what next? healthcare? jkk i do enjoy patroning mom and pop bars like this. drinks are cheap and strong, company is great. support local businesses!

More and more around Santa Clara County, what passes for a «dive» bar is a place without bottle service. Dive Bars attract a certain type of person. The kind of people that will sit at a bar and tell grand stories till well past last call. Where a coat check is to make sure you didn’t leave it on the bar stool next to you. Where flip-flops are common and guys like Ricky and Bam-Bam sit on their bar stools and enjoy every evening as they have for the past 20+ years. The patio is a dive bar of epic proportions. There is no rush, the bar keep will get you when she does. Lots of hard stuff ready, with the Jack and Stoli always at the front of the line, and about 20 bottles of beer ready to be cracked open. A few Fat Tires, a game of pool, ah the high life, indeed. The older I get, the less I need clubs and places to be seen. But the more I need dive bars to sit around and tell stories, painting over the ugly parts, and having a good laugh.

You. can. smoke. cigars! Enough said :) Patio is the classic definition of a dive bar — located in a tiny strip mall along El Camino Real — parking can be an issue if it’s a busy night but accessibility cannot be beat! You walk in through a typical dive bar door(you know, the kind of door that, when closed, could be an apartment, a used bookstore, a poker joint or, a dive bar!!! — a literal hole in the wall). the bar is right there, L shaped and takes up the right corner of the bar area. No beers on tap — although they have a decent bottled beer selection. A pool table is present to the left. Michael C. and I came here on a weeknight and we were initially the only ones here — we grabbed our drinks and went to the back patio which is huge — and has quite a few tables, a pool table, some video games including video bowling and, get this, a real firepit with a roasting spit — oh, yes! Gotta be back when they have a suckling pig on that baby!!! Heat lamps abound — should the temperatures drop but it was comfortable without them. Oh, you can smoke cigars here which is what brought us here to begin with. So, we spent the next hour smoking our stogies as the patio slowly filled up — some regulars, some newbies like us(you could tell) We did not try or even look at the bar menu — that’s for next time. But he patrons seemed friendly, the barman was really friendly and funny, drinks were cheap and, did I tell you that you can smoke cigars here? LOL I’ll be back for sure — a solid 3 stars for a nice little neighborhood dive! # 62

I kinda chuckled inside when I saw the«they love us on Unilocal» sticker on their door thinking that when I got back to write my review I would find like 100+ reviews. Not the case, since they are only 6 reviews so far. So by Unilocal standards, it’s still kind of a hidden gem. The patio doesn’t wow you with an awesome menu, bartenders that do flair, million dollar soundsystem, etc. But what it does have is the crowd and atmosphere. The atmosphere is like your hanging out in someone’s garage, everyone just kinda hanging out having a good time. Go to the Patio where the bartender rocks a meaner mullet than Dog, the bountyhunter and have her pour you a mean pint of Sam Adam’s winterfest.
