Cool place and location. Nice tables and boards. That’s about it. Bartenders aren’t the best.

This place is awesome! I love a great neighborhood bar and seeing the same familiar faces is always a plus. Lots of pool tables and dart boards too! I highly recommend this place for a casual outing.

It’s where the locals hang, like me. When I’m looking for fast service, a beer, & good’ol friendly conversation. I come here. It’s always dive-y but that’s the point! Love P&H!

My boyfriend and I like coming here to have a few cocktails, listen to music and play darts. It’s a cool dive bar to hang out at and we’ve met some nice people here. :)

Really a very awesome dive bar. Smoking room in the back, three good quality bar sized pool tables, pinball machines, darts, and even an arcade machine. Really my only complaint is the draft beer selection is a little sparse. I don’t live in the area, but I think every tone I come down to south bay this may be my hangout. All in all, great experience!

This is the worst Dive Bar in Sunnyvale. They had poor service and disrespectful bar tenders. I highly recommend you go to one of the many other places in Sunnyvale.

Cheating bartenders, foul smelling dive bar. Bartender tried to pull a fast one on me «you gave me $ 10 right?» when i bought one drink and gave her $ 20 bill. Reading other reviews seems that’s not an isolated incident :). Really old crowd. If you’re in your 40’s you’ll be the young gun here. Drinks are maybe 10% cheaper than other bars on Murphy st. Not worth it.

Unfortunately I came to this bar I felt caught in mean girl high school gossip. The bartenders being well into their middle age are super catty and inattentive. I sat at the bar for over 10 minutes while the blond bartender pretended to not notice me while talking to her regulars. Service was rude to boot. Once served I couldn’t help but over hear a lot of drama and smack talking I am guessing about her coworkers. Very unprofessional and made me feel uncomfortable. I prefer a more welcoming atmosphere where I can enjoy my beverage without overhearing negativity. Cheers.

Looking to play some pinball? The old school kind(aka EMs or Electro Mechanical) — then come by Paul and Harvey, grab a drink and try out the legendary Rick Stetta’s pinball machines here. Two EMs here right now(not sure if he rotates them out) are here(there’s a Stern Spider-Man across the street too). When I went there was a lot of easy parking on the street too!

This place sucks the bartender left to deal with a fight and hasnt come back for 20 minutes. If you own this place you have a serious problem with the rude bitch at your bar tonight.

Now I love a good dive bar as much as the next girl, but this place might be a little too divey for my taste. Not a bad fallback if everywhere else is too crowded, but not my first choice. PROs: Decent prices, strong drinks CONs: Smells like Reno…

Divey as hell, just how i like it. Drinks are cheap, bar is well lit and adorned with wood furnishing. Lots of regulars. Lots of drinking games to be played here. No qualms, especially when the pours are stiffer than my morning wood.

A little something different to do on a Sunday evening: Shoot pool, and have a beer. Place reminds of every other place that one stumbles into when curious; there isn’t much to it other than the click and clack of ball to ball pooling together on worn out tables. The bartenders just seem to be there, but provide the drinks quick enough — my boys who I hung out with didn’t seem to mind. It suit our needs, but a return to this locale might leave even regular barflies a little apprehensive for a repeat business trip here.

Wow! Popped in here with the hubby the other day before we decided where we wanted to grab a bite to eat. I grew up in Sunnyvale but had never been in here before. It gives new meaning to DIVE bar. When we first walked in you could smell the old stench of stale smoke clinging to the walls. The bar is actually good size with a very long bar, several pool tables and a ping pong table. There were a few people in the bar and we could tell they were regulars. The bartender was friendly but not very attentive. I thought $ 6 for a glass of red wine was a lot for this place. My husband ordered a Sierra Nevada and she brought him a Modelo in a tall can. ?? He said he’d drink it since she’d opened it already so she set it down and walked away. Um … glass please? The obnoxious bar flies at the end of the bar were already clearly drunk and it wasn’t even 2pm yet. I’m in no way a prude, not easily offended and the hubby and I have been to plenty of divey bars. But this place was one of the worst we’ve ever been to. There was a man at the end of the bar who was screaming and yelling and cussing. This went on for half the time we were there. The people playing pool were also cussing at each other like the«F» word was the same as a high five. The average age was about 65, alcoholics and possibly on the brink of being homeless. I couldn’t wait to settle our bill and get the heck outa there!

Old times, new times, there is always a good time to be had at Paul & Harvey. I choose this place over any and all other drinking spots on Murphy Ave. The drinks are strong and tasty. I prefer the dirty martini but my girls love the Tropical Hooter drinks. They are really sweet but are very strong too so be careful. ;) They give out baskets of pretzels too. I like this added munchie item. It allows us to keep drinking without feeling like we are full of just liquid. Happy hour is from 4 – 6. The prices and drink vary so just ask the bartender for the specials. The bad elements are not that bad either. There are lots of people who frequent this bar and jukebox can be a tad bit too loud so it is sometimes hard to find a place to chill and to hear what you are thinking in your head. ;) Cheers to another dive and another drink.

Dive bar in the middle of a quaint downtown Sunnyvale that makes you kinda want to «Dive» into another bar Pro: — Drinks are CHEAP! Super cheap and they have very generous pours — Has pool tables, dart boards, and the game on so fun in that sense. Reminds you of those biker bars in an old 80s movie where you fight a dude who was bugging your girl. Con: — CASHONLY! Even when I had cash, the bartender told me that there’s an ATM down the street. down the street??? — Rude bartenders. They are super nice to the regulars and burley looking guys w/a large mustache and cowboy hats, but a young guy like me who wanted to pre-drink a little before going into a club with some of his buds… not so much!!! Kept getting ignored(eventho it was not very busy… probably 6 ppl there with 2 bartenders) and then didn’t get my change back when i was owed $ 5 … guess she assumed i would tip $ 5 on a 3 — $ 5 drinks! — Walking in, the place smells like cigarettes! Yikes did i just walk into a reno casino??? I thought smoking indoors is illegal in CA now… I guess that can be a pro for smokers maybe? Not my cup of tea! WHATTOGET: any mixed drinks! WHATNOTTOGET: Not sure what not to get since its a bar, but i know what you won’t get. the bartenders attention! Overall, I would hesitate on coming back if anyone wanted to go there. There are tons of bars in that area with a lot of nice bartenders(across the street is Murphy’s Law, which i think is much better!).

This is the perfect dive bar. That means, you get interesting people and fairly cheap beer. The female bartender is cool and funny.

Time for a refresh! I still come here all the time, though not as often lately with some project work taking up vast amounts of time. However, being a neighborhood bar, things are always as you left them last time, everybody says hello, they ask about you when you’re not around as much… I think one of the most impressive things about P&H is the sense of community that comes through around holidays and other occassions, with potluck dinners and signing of birthday cards for the regulars and some other things that you don’t find elsewhere. And of course, Maria…

If you’re in Downtown Sunnyvale and want to avoid the crowd to get a drink, this place is for you. It’s a dive bar where everyone seems to know each other. I never had issues getting a few a drinks here with my buddies. The crowd is a little older then the bars around the vicinity. They got pool tables, jukebox, dartboards, etc., This place only take cash but they have an ATM machine inside. Overall, it’s a nice little bar to get drinks. If you want a more rowdy crowd, head down the street to Fibbar McGees or Murphy’s Law.

This isn’t so much a dive bar as it is a neighborhood bar. A quiet place to get a drink during the week, Paul & Harvey’s is actually not that bad. Sure, there’s nothing exotic about it — but they do the locals’ bar justice. Let’s break it down: — Three pool tables — Covered patio for smoking — Good prices on booze, both beer and the hard stuff — Friendly locals When you need a no-nonsense bar, Paul & Harvey’s will do nicely.
