Dragon Delight

I drove 22 minutes to get to this place because it is halal. I had eaten here before and it was excellent. But this time I was disappointed. The chicken fried rice was pale looking a d hardly had any flavor. We ordered $ 60. worth of food and was disappointed with every dish. I thought I should have received white rice with the moo goo gain pan and beef with broccoli but no it wasn’t like other places. I asked for rice they gave a little box that was like a ½ of a pint or even smaller. I had to purchase a quart of white rice as a side. Will I go back there? No probably not. Maybe the old owners need to come back.

Today we found out that the ownership had changed sometime in the past year. The new owners are taiwanese and very friendly. We ordered the family pack option B which for 34.99 is an amazing amount of food (especially by halal restaurant standards). The food included in the deal is: 3 eggrolls, jumbo special fried rice (beef, shrimp and chicken), quart general Tsos chicken, and 20 chicken wings and a 2 Liter of soda. This has turned out to be a fantastic deal– everything was amazingly yummy and fresh tasting even to my great surprise the eggrolls. They are fresh and so crispy and I usually never like them unless homemade — but these were mouthwatering. The general Tsos chicken was saucy and sweet and a little spicy and crispy and yum. This is the best chinese I have eaten out in years. Years — I tell you! I feel very excited to try more things from them. The menu also has a good coupon for free sweet and sour chicken with purchase of 35.00+… I wonder how their dumplings are… We always do takeout as the eat-​in area is usually full and smallish.

Avoid this place at all costs. It used to be great, but ever since they got new owners the food quality and service has gone down the tubes. I got takeout here when craving halal Chinese, but the food was a complete 180 compared to the food served by the old owners. One of my favorite dishes here was the chicken wings, which are now terrible. They’re small and scrawny now, not well seasoned, and there were literally feathers fried into the chicken wings. The rest of the food was totally bland, and the beef in the beef lo mein was super dry. When we tried telling the owner about our experience, she responded in a defensive and rude manner. Such a disappointing step down from how good it was before, because it was really good before they new management came in. It’s also important to note that it’s in a pretty sketchy plaza.

Sorry to say that the quality is degraded very bad. and expensive .the soup had uncooked cornstarch in it. The house special fried rice the rice was cheap rice not basmati. chicken wing poor .i am never going to this place. My money went in the garbage.

I loved this place before; probably the best halal Chinese in town. But recently they got a new staff, and today I have had the worst experience there in my life! So I ordered over the phone like I usually do expecting to go in and pick it up. I go in and they said that they don’t take card because the machine was broken and that I would have to get cash. I was very understanding and went to the nearest bank and got my money. I went back expecting my food to be ready so I can pay and then leave… but to my surprise they hadn’t even started cooking yet! After patiently waiting 40 minutes i receive my food and am shocked to see how drastically the amount of food had changed. Before in the lunch combo they used to give you a lot of food but now it’s cut in half the size, and the food isn’t even that good anymore! After being loyal to them for many years I am no longer going back. Maybe if the old management came back but besides that no.

Well this review might fall short of the reality. It’s difficult to guess what the food would taste like on seeing the exterior if the restaurant which is really tiny but remember everything’s which glitters is also not gold. The food is really awesome. They really charge less for what they serve. I felt bad for it. All items should be priced atleast a couple of dollars more considering the quantity, quality, & most importantly taste. I immediately have $ 5 tip. People who prepare food have Chinese ancestors and they are really very sweet. They do school on mon, tues, wed & so the restaurant is closed. We guys should really appreciate such hard working students who run restaurant. If I order food for 2, it’s good for 4. So a thumbs up and will definitely go there whenever I am here in Florida. And remember guys it’s halal and it has both a halal certificate on the wall and outside on the restaurant too…

Not sure what happened to this place. The owners must have sold off the business. It went from being the best Chinese in town to becoming horrible.
To paint a picture, we ordered from here about once a week. My entire family ordered food from here. Unfortunately, the food is now no bueno! Really disappointing!
