Jiffy Lube

Horrible experience. I have a mechanic whom i trust (Jacobs Garage on Pines), and i solely went to jiffy for an oil change. The guy was trying get me for $ 310, and even had a whole power point on the items my car needed replaced. He said it would only take 15 minutes (very convenient) for $ 310 worth of work to my car. I decided to opt out and just go to my mechanic… Absolutely nothing was wrong, and i only needed coolant. I am very disappointed. I know people need to eat and feed their families and this is a business, but to scam people like this is ridiculous and disgusting. The one i went to was in sunrise 4359 n university dr. Do not go there. a bunch of crooks. Thinking about it now they probably didn’t change the oil. This place is dangerous.

Samuel gave great service. Arrived at 1pm and was out by 1:20. I’m glad it was quick cause I was in a hurry. This is the second time I’ve been here and both times it was a pleasant experience. They even let some kids air up the tires on their bikes for free. It’s the little things that count and Samuel did them.

My latest adventure to Jiffy Lube made me feel like I was on a quest for oil in the post-​apocalyptic world that is Mad Max. In this case, an employee there named Sanjay was Immortan Joe (if you haven’t seen it, he’s the mean guy in the movie). My car needed an oil change and I had a groupon that covered 5 quarts of conventional oil. Immortan Joe (employee Sanjay) told me that my Nissan Rogue can only take synthetic and therefore it would cost more. I told him I’ve put conventional many times before, but he had none of that and told me that they wont do anything unless I put synthetic. I was about to scream out «PLEASE LET ME INTO THE GATES OF VALHALLA» and chrome-​spray my mouth until i decided to just call my dealership to ask the mechanic what it needed and they said that conventional was totally fine. I told Sanjay and this is when he proceeded to laugh sarcastically at lil olé Mad Michi (yes, I’m Mad Max in this story because he’s cool), said I should do more research and that I knew nothing about this. I then decided to speak to someone else before this escalated — and Chookie, the other employee, was very kind and took care of everything for me. I am not really sure why this was more difficult than it should’ve been and why Sanjay was so rude to me… so the only explanation is that we were suddenly placed in this post apocalyptic world and I hope to never return to this location.

Bunch of thieving, stupid, lack of customer service, unorganized morons that work here. Can’t even put the right size windshield wipers on my car.

When I got there a Jiffy Lube employee directed me to the center bay. I thought — hey I got right in, I’ll be out in no time. Well, if no time means over an hour, I’d be right!
The employee escorted hubby and I to the waiting room. We both eventually got seats. Four to six people stood because all the chairs were taken.
TRYING TO USE FEAR TO UPCHARGE THEIR CUSTOMERS:
About a half hour later, a Jiffy Lube employee called me out to the work area. He showed me his computer screen that had a bar chart of fluids and months. He told me that my transmission and radiator fluids were past due to be changed. I asked him how he knew — how would he know if I had it done elsewhere? (I haven’t gone to a Jiffy Lube in many years.) His eyes shot up at me and he said he wouldn’t know. So it wasn’t a change in viscosity of the fluids or a change in color, etc. It was his guess that the way he phrased his statement would be enough to make me fearful that the car would not run right unless I changed the fluids. Since the oil change includes topping off the fluids it wasn’t that he wanted to make me think there wasn’t enough but that I needed to replace it all.
Interestingly, they had to add «Radiator Overflow Reservoir» to the invoice and typed «checked». The «Transmission Fluid Level» says «OK» on the invoice. It didn’t state anything about being bad (color, viscosity, etc.).
My husband was with me and I think that if I were alone, he’d have pushed harder to scare me into getting the work done. Instead my husband muttered something about just doing the Groupon oil change. I told the guy that he should just fill the fluids and we’d be good. Another employee asked if it was ok if they used pink windshield wiper fluid to my blue windshield wiper fluid. They both said the composition of the fluid was the same. I said I didn’t care, it was fine with me. I’ve never really seen the color of the fluid when it sprayed on my windshield so it’s no biggie.
Ironically, if they would have said I needed a filter I might have believed them because I rarely drive this car and it’s been a long time since I changed the filter. But they didn’t — and I saw them pull out the filter, which was white and pretty clean.
We then waited about 20 minutes to be checked out. Hubby actually went into the work area to ask who checks us out and when they pointed to someone, hubby asked what was stopping him from checking us out! It was almost like punishment for not buying an upcharge. Eventually the manager came in and rang us up for the $ 1.22 in tax that the Groupon didn’t cover.
I don’t want to go to any business that makes me think I have to be on my toes because they’re trying to leverage fear to sell me products/​services. It’s evident that they have a lot of business — especially for a Sunday. They should just be «jiffy» in getting the cars in and out, and honest in assessing the cars’ needs. That would help them to be even busier — and I bet have more repeat customers. I might buy another Jiffy Lube Groupon in the future but I wouldn’t go to this location. And if I find that other Jiffy Lubes try to leverage fear to upsell, I will not return to any Jiffy Lube.

Because of the reviews I read while I was at this location getting a conventional oil change using a coupon for $ 21 vs $ 39.99 reg price I was a little skeptical whether I was going to get taken advantage of or not. And now that I’m done (and the wait time wasn’t bad, bout 30 min) I smell burned oil and idk if maybe some spilled onto the engine and it’s just burning off or what. My car does feel better like it just had its oil changed. The gentleman Joshua came off honest w me n I respected that a lot being a female. He attempted to suggestive sell which is fine Cz that’s what u should do in any business. The mngr rolled out w red car carpet for me before I got in my car lol but that’s also good business too if u want to have repeat customers. Overall, they did good and everyone will have their own take on Jiffy Lube. They have free coffee and they could smile more

I can’t help but think that at Jiffy Lube, oil changes are just a front for trying to upsell people to more expensive services, not all of which are necessary.
My experience here was not good. Not horrible, but pretty bad. It took a loooonnngg time for them to finish changing my oil. There was a period of about 20 minutes where they stopped working on my car and let it sit while taking care of someone’s car who had come in after I did.
My total waiting time after they started working on my car was somewhere around 40 minutes. Sorry, but that doesn’t quality as a «jiffy» lube job in my book.
And, of course, there was the obligatory Jiffy Lube upsell pitch that I had to deal with. I was there on a $ 25 basic oil change Groupon. They tried to convince me that my car needed oil with special additives that would cost me an additional $ 30 beyond the cost of the Groupon.
And there was the power steering fluid change pitch followed by the transmission gear lube pitch, both of which I can have done much cheaper at my local mechanic’s shop. Fortunately I had just changed my air filter, so I didn’t have to listen to that one. But they did try to sell me wiper blades, which I had recently replaced.
Low priced Groupon or not, I’m finished with Jiffy Lube. I’d honestly rather just pay full price somewhere that my oil will be changed quickly and I won’t have to fend off attempts to drain my wallet on non-​oil change related services.

I went first time to Jiffy lube in
My life and that to my bad luck I went to Jiffy at this address for oil change to my van. I had a coupon for 21 usd discount on oil change. They suggested my and made me fool saying that go for 69 usd high Milage oil change on my vehicle, it’s 85k miles, also they suggested that go for engine oil treatment for additional 30 usd extra.
I showed coupon to them they saw it and told me that, if you take 69+30 usd package without my coupon they will give a good deal all together for 81usd along with taxes, and no coupon necessary again. I said ok.
I really don’t know what they did the Guy who billed is one stupid money grabbing Indian fellow his name is «Anil», he charged me 106 usd and he is telling that we dint promise you for 81 usd.
The technicians are good here but only stupid guy is Anil looks like Indian.
Please not to go for service is here. In case if you visit try to be careful with «Anil» the Indian guy. I think he cheers all the customers in the same way.
When I visit this place, no customers in this center and I red the reviews before writing my review, most of them gave only single star for this service center.
My suggestion is in case by mistake if your fate is bad, if you visit this center please make sure, how much they charge and pay it first then only go for service.
One more important thing is here; I asked him to bill before they start the work as per the deal 81 usd. Anil the cunning guy told we will charge 81 at the end, but he charged me 106 usd.

This Jiffy lube is complete rip off. They try to convince you that you need to replace parts you don’t need. They are very pushy in their «recommendations». If you decide to bring your own oil and filter they will try to convince you that you cannot use any coupons because you are using your own oil and filter. That is completely false. I will never go back to that location.

Worst Service ever! Went there today and a man came after me & got serviced before me. Tried to get help from someone working there and the guy Joshua would only acknowledge the customer’s that were done and had to pay. What the heck do you have to do to get service here? This guy walks around with a miserable look on his face like he hates his job… I couldn’t take it anymore and just left. I am taking my car elsewhere… where they can appreciate business.

Do not use this Jiffy lube, they are a bunch of thieves. A personal check was stolen from the car after oil change. I had to cancel the check and pay the fee and go through the trouble of dealing with the bank and check writer. Stay away
