The Bar b q is not very good and the employees are not nice. They also find an excuse not to accept their own coupons.

How this place ever made it out of Texas is a head scratcher. Not even a tier 1 bbq joint for WA! And that’s bad. food comes out inconsistent. I’ve had 3 star days and 2 star days. Enough is enough. No more chances. I don’t find it a coincidence their first ever location outside of Dallas was Colorado. If they would of expanded to another BBQ touting state, the business would of more than likely failed to expand. If you’ve ever been to Austin, this place is consistently compared to the McDonald’s of BBQ.

Have you ever used one of those delivery services and been so excited that 1) you didn’t have to cook, 2) your food was on the way 3) yumminess was coming soon? We have, and last night was the worst experience ever. GrubHub is an online service that pairs restaurants willing to deliver, with customers, needing same. Last night we placed an order for two sandwiches, along with some sides. We were promised delivery between 60 — 90 minutes. Not great, but hey. I didn’t have to cook it, and we ordered at 5:40 So, at 8:00 p.m. when we still don’t have food, we begin to get a little irritable and busted out the tortilla chips… At 8:25 the food arrives and it was terrible! The pulled pork sandwich was so tough I could barely eat it. I’d love to tell you about the bbq sauce, except there wasn’t any! The brisket sandwich was worse, and tasted foul. Again, no sauce. Potato salad was ok, and if you like yellow vs white, this is your style. The green beans were the Italian kind(wide bean) and were nothing to write home about. The highlight of the belated meal was definitely the baked beans. The only reason this review isn’t a qualified«1» star. I’ll never order from them again, and I certainly won’t walk in. Too many bbq choices in Austin that rock it!

Barbecue is excellent with a wide variety of tasty sides. Staff is friendly and accommodating. A great place to get a large order for staff luncheons, parties, or visitors.

First time ordering from here and not what I expected. Ordered two orders of the 3 meat plate that included the chicken breast, brisket, pulled pork, and turkey with side orders of fried, potatoe salad and 2 ceasar salads. Overall the meal was literally OK. Was Def not worth the $ 35! All the meat was dry except for the turkey with was slightly over cooked. Best thing was the fries.

I’ve never written a Unilocal review before, but the quality of food that I received was absolutely disgusting and sick. Came in to pick up some to go bbq food tonight and what I got was inedible. Now I don’t cook bbq, but I am a chef at a restaurant so my palette is somewhat knowledgeable. I wasn’t expecting any Salt Lick, just some quick bbq that would be fairly decent. The $ 153 meat plate was skimp, and I mean skimp. About 5 pieces and super thinly sliced sausage and ¼ cup of pulled pork and mushy brisket. I get into my car and open up my box cause everyone likes to pick at their food before indulging when getting home. I mistakenly put a piece of sausage in my mouth without looking at it and tasted something that was rancid and sour. With closer examination, the discoloration around the ring of the sausage indicated that not only was it pre sliced but it’s old and has been sitting out. SERIOUSLY? Sick. Moved my fingers around the mushy brisket and didn’t think it was worth risking diarrhea or food poisoning for. You can assume I didn’t even bother with the sides. The fact that these went passed the guys that plated it is beyond me. Should I have gone in for a refund? Yeah, but at that point, I was starving, frustrated, and didn’t want to deal with it. Plus, I hate complaining about food but the quality tonight sickens me. You guys should be more concerned about your food quality than the hiring sign you have inside for part time help with marketing. Will not be here coming here. Ever. Again. The only reason for your one star is cause you’re within radius to Chipotle, where I can eat and survive.

The food was good and the service was timely. They have kid’s eat free on Sunday and whatever you order comes with free soft serve ice cream. It would probably be over the price I’m typically looking to pay for a regular lunch time outing with the family if not for kids eating free. I have however never left Dickey’s unhappy.

I’ve been to Dickey’s on multiple occasions and have been generally satisfied. Although the bbq doesn’t stand up to the more famous texas bbq menus, it does the trick for a quick and convenient meal. What really has me annoyed this visit is the service. My boyfriend and I both ordered fired items, which the woman behind the counter said she would bring to us when they were ready. Not a problem, I understood they would take a few minutes. Half way through my meal still without our side dishes, I went up to the counter to ask for them. They were just sitting there, probably getting cold. She apologized and assured me she would bring them right out. Well, I had finished my meal and still nothing. I understand forgetting once, but twice?! That’s just ridiculous. I won’t be going back anytime soon.

I think people who were born and raised in the South have this love affair and appreciation for bbq. We try to see good in each dish because everyone has different ingredients or sauces for their food. I’m a bbq sauce snob and there is not a time in my kitchen that there is over 5 different kinds in my pantry. I really like Dickey’s. First off, bbq is meant to be eaten with your hands in a comfortable environment. It is not meant to be fancy. The atmosphere is great. You do not feel intimidated if you are unsure on what you want or if you have never tried bbq. Their menu has brisket, ribs(which I fell in love with), pulled pork, cheddar sausages, and just a good amount of different sides. When I asked for baked potato fully loaded, I want everything on it when it comes out. THANKYOUFORUNDERSTANDINGWHATFULLYLOADEDMEANS! Lol. Places that offer bake potatoes need to have everything. They also offer 3 types of bbq sauce!!! *the heavens play music* I love it! They have their original, spicy, and sweet. Thank you for giving me the choice! I do not want the same sauce every time! I would have to say I wish they had more selection on the brisket. But for my own personal taste, its a little to fatty for me. The taste is good but the texture is what gets me but everyone has their own preference. They also do catering as well and if you need it on the same day, it can be done!

Knew the risks going in. Wanted to give them a shot. The choice was mostly based on convenience. I’ve been shopping around Sunset Valley and didn’t really want to drive out 360 to Rudy’s. Should have. I got brisket and both kinds of sausage(polish and spicy cheese). Potato salad and jalapeño beans. Original sauce. All were edible but way less than average. Not going here again, ever.

Back at Dickies bbq Brodie lane. It’s reminds me of being back in Dallas. They always are friendly and courteous. Thanks for the good food.

First of all, how can a place call itself a BBQ joint and not have Texas Toast! A roll come on Dickey get with it! Got the Brisket and pull pork. Brisket was a little of the salty side. Was lucky and got a slice that had some good fat on it. Pull pork was good, but I am no expert, since I am from Texas. It did have a couple of small bones in it. One thing I do love is the potatoe salad. Lots of mustard and they use mash potatoes Two stars for the BBQ, would give 4 if just for the sides.

Once you get past the«Big Five» in central Texas, you realize that the second and third tier Barbecue joints are still better than what you would get in the northeast. And that is enough of a reason for me to want to review Dickies. Not too bad. When I order meat, it always comes out of a large meat oven and is unwrapped, as though just for me. I’ve had the brisket and the cheesy jalapeño sausage. The brisket varies from being moist and juicy to lean and dry. If they did more business, they could separate those cuts and sell them like they do at Rudy’s. In which case I would never order the«lean». The sausage is good. As for sides, the green beans and jalapeño beans were quite good! Ice tea! Price was a tad higher than I would have expected, though. I guess they have to charge a premium to make up for their low volume. Having said this all, I do enjoy going here often. The cutters are super friendly and it’s overall a good meal of meat.

I had the Texas style chopped brisket, marinated chicken, cheddar sausage, ribs, baked potato casserole. The ribs were meaty, perfectly smoked, and tender. With just the right amount of sauce. The Texas chopped brisket was my favorite. Smoky, not fatty, and had a spicy kick to it. Chicken was perfectly marinated and moist. Sausage was good, I wasn’t too into the cheddar myself, but it’s good sausage anyway. Baked potato casserole was amazing The sauce is a great spicy sauce. I ordered online and picked up my order, the staff was great, I’m definitely going back.

We ordered for pick-up, but when we got there an hour after we’d initially called, our food was not ready. They packed it up while we waited, but completely forgot our order of sausage. It was really noisy inside; I think there was a kids party or something. So after waiting so long, we didn’t want to spend any more time there to check our order. REMEMBERTOCHECKYOURORDERBEFOREYOULEAVE. Despite the poor service, the food’s not that bad. The brisket was drier than I’d prefer, but the pulled pork was decent. The sauce helped with the dryness, but a little peppery for my taste(especially in conjunction with the peppery rub). Overall, it was alright. I wouldn’t recommend it to my friends, just because there’s plenty of better BBQ options nearby.

NOTE: This review primarily covers the brisket and Polish sausage. The brisket seems to be hit/miss. The first time I had it, it was great: moist and lightly smoked. The most recent encounter was not so great. The flavor matched that initial taste, but the meat was dry. The Polish sausage is definitively an item I can recommend, although they slice the sausage for you(purchase by the pound, not the link). It has good texture, is moist, and it’s not too spicy. I would also recommend the dill potato salad. It’s creamy and a welcome departure from the same old mustard and/or German varieties.

I really like this place! I like the pulled pork, their original sauce, and the rolls… those rolls are excellent! I would not have even known to have tried them had it not been for Unilocal. Chris, who runs this one, is a cool guy with a very nice staff! I like that a lot! I only deduct a star for the price because I feel it is on the higher side. This is a pretty solid BBQ place though. The pork is always good to go!

So the lady had a hankering for BBQ and we didn’t feet like venturing very far. Our options, this or 1 other place down the road. Seeing how I have never tried here, we decided to give it a shot. Reading the previous reviews, i could see where they were coming from. But, seeing how I had the sandwich creation, with brisket and sausage, I was happy. Cheese, meat, and bread, kinda hard to mess up. It was actually pretty decent sandwich, «The Westerner.» The bread was really good. This topped with pickles and spicy BBQ sauce made it very tasty. The sides need work for sure, the potato salad is like a mashed potato concoction, not horrible, but odd, ya odd is best word for it. The beans taste like good ol Beanie Weenies out of the can. I happen to like Beanie Weenies, but still, make them stand out. The sauce was really the star of the meal. This was actually pretty similar tasting to a spicy BBQ I make for my briskets at home. Very flavorful and just the right amount of kick. I also enjoyed the fact they were out in a warming container, nothing like some hot BBQ to round the meal off. After devouring my food, I topped it off with a complementary cone, they have a soft serve machine with ice cream for FREE. Can’t beat that, although i think next time I may have to have a rootbeer float with dinner. Shhhh dont tell them. I will go back when they have the Western for 5 bucks, can’t remember what night, but other then that night, probably not. For the money, you don’t get enough food IMO, but what i had was good enough to make me eat there again, even if on only discounted days.
