I’ve come here once a year for the last 7 years while up hunting, tradition dictates as much. I think this could be the last visit. Our service on a Saturday night was just that bad. Party of 6 splitting 3 pizzas, nothing else. After an hour, 1 came out right, the other 2, no idea what went wrong, they weren’t even close. We received no explanation, no apology for the mistake, and no compensation for having to wait an additional 55 min for the correction. We were there for well over 2 hours during which time several of us had to go to the bar to get drinks because the waitress was mia. Saw her in the back chowing down on food. We watched a couple get seated and then leave after receiving not as much as a «be with you in a bit.» I felt compelled to ask the waitress at the end if I or someone in our group had offended her because it was the only thing I could think of for why we were treated like we were. Her response was that they were busy. I looked around at the tables, over half were empty, and she clearly understood what I was getting at but turned and walked away without saying more. Sorry she was having a bad day but she just killed the desire of 6 paying customers to ever return.

Good Pizza. I little spendy, but worth it. Gluten free pizzas are good. Service was witty-banter and fun. go here for something special, not a regular stop for me because of price.

My husband and I were passing through and tried this place. We had the VIP Full House. It tasted great and homemade. The pizza was messy from all of the cheese and toppings, which I think made it even better!!! We ordered a medium and had way more than enough for us to eat. I’d love to eat here again if we’re ever passing through!

6÷20÷15 First time here. Phenomenal pizza! The parking lot was full so we almost left, but we snagged a spot as someone left. Turns out they were hosting two grad parties and the restaurant itself had a lot of open seating. We ordered a VIP Favorite and a Bacon Cheeseburger pizza. The sauce is amazing and the crust is good, too. There are also a lot of toppings, and the bacon cheeseburger came with a bowl of pickle chips. Yum! The décor is fun. Lots of photos of Italy and cool murals painted on the walls. The service was good, too. Looking forward to going back again soon!

Best pizza in the area. Sauce and Toppings are excellent. Crust is just the right thickness to hold the toppings. Huge pieces of sausage make this pie #1

Still waiting for my pizza after 45 minutes., Witnessed a drunk regular make a big fuss and get 86’d because he was pissed about how long his order took. The more i wait, the more sympathetic i am with that poor bastard. This is pretty ridiculous. It’s not that busy.

Wow, we were happy that our captain recommended this place. We ordered a specialty pizza with onions, green peppers, and sausage and a calzone with similar vegetable and meat. The food was ready within 10 minutes and delicious that we finished it all. Very reasonable price and right in downtown Superior. Unfortunately, the downtown scene looks a little depressing. At least, there are some places to get a reasonable priced and also great tasting food.

«Vintage Italian Pizza» — Three locations in Duluth-Superior, with the original located on the East Central Hillside near the U of M. The Gebackene Pizza features a rather ‘different’ combination of toppings including Russian dressing-flavored sauerkraut, mushrooms, black olives, fresh chopped onions, and green peppers, topped with mozzarella, Swiss cheese and spicy Italian sausage. It’s not to be missed. 29 beers on tap at the Superior location, and frequent live entertainment.

Just drove here on the way to Wisconsin from LA… this place rocks! Fantastic pizza and great beer selection! The ambiance is really cool with historic pictures, interesting photos, and some artistic paintings. Super cute bartender too. If I ever find myself in Superior, WI anytime soon I will be making a stop here. I heard they have a comedy night here as well… If you haven’t been here, or are just passing thru town, you should consider stopping by.

Great pizza! Always has been no matter which VIP i go to. But this one in Superior is the by far the best. The restaurant is a good size and has a good size bar. Plus the staff is always great which is very important to me. Good times always had at VIP!

While on a driving vacation from Michigan, we stopped in Superior, WI for one night. After checking out the reviews on Unilocal,we decided to try this pizza joint. It was fantastic! We tried the margerhita, taco and cheeseburger specialty pizzas and got a standard one as a fallback for our boys. We all absolutely loved it! My wife also had hard cider with cinnamon and I think brown sugar on the waitress’ recommendation and it was also fantastic! Love the staff, love the restaurant, love the food. We will make a point to stop on our return trip.

The pizza at VIP is excellent. It is really hard to get any better in the Twin Ports area. They also offer $ 5.50 one topping personal pizza which is enough to fill you up. This deal was better when VIP was attached to The Capri and you got a bottle of beer with the pizza deal. Their new restaurant space is large and clean. Great place to bring large groups of people like a bar crawl!

The atmosphere here is fine. The«Chessy Mediterranean» pizza was tasteless, with very little distinguishable artichokes on it, and no sauce. Very disappointing.

V.I.P. = Vintage Italian Pizza :) Found this place on Unilocal while searching for great pizza in the Duluth area on our way home from a climbing & camping on the North Shore. To say we were tired, hungry, & thirsty is an understatement. We walked in to VIP& were the only guests in the restaurant @ 1pm on a Sunday afternoon. There was a dining room & a bar area & we opted to sit in the lounge area near the window. Our server(I wish I would have caught his name) was warm & welcoming to our group of 9. He offered us samples of WI brewed beer & offered suggestions. We perused the menu & were impressed by the specialty all thin crust pizzas VIP had to offer. The menu also consisted of pastas, salads, appetizers, & sandwiches. We ended up choosing 4 pizzas: Southwestern BBQ w/jalapenos &BBQ sauce(definitely my favorite!), Wild Pepperoni, w/tomatoes, pepperoni, & thick, fresh mozzarella, & the last two, I can’t remember the names of: one had spicy sausage, green pepper, onion, & mushroom — this was the group favorite, the sausage was amazing! & the last was a ricotta-spinach pizza. The pizzas were packed w/toppings & flavor. & with nine of us, we had almost a whole pizza leftover to take home. The service was wonderful, the beer was local, & the pizza was amazing. Check it out if you are in the area… you won’t be disappointed! on a side note, check out the restrooms: so unique :)

This is one of those rare eateries that gets a great rating simply because the food is great and cheap. The pizza here is fantastic. The beer is cheap. The atmosphere is a bit on the low side but its made up for by the food. They have numerous kinds of pizza and they are all great. They do have a wait staff, but it is minimal. They basically just bring out the pizza to your table and that is it. I still highly recommend it for the great food if you are ever in Suptown.
