Jimmyz Original Hibachi House

Exactly what you want and expect. Huge portions for a great price. To go order was ready quick and the shrimp sauce was on point.

We ate there in the Miso soup was adequate the veggie teriyaki bowl was okay the sushi was disgusting and I will never be here again. I am a food snob I cook good food in my home and I would never cook that in my home. The locals might like it and may not know better. We were the only skinny people in the whole restaurant. Other than that was just fine

Amazing chicken & beef teriyaki! Tasty sauces with tender meat and crispy vegetables on fluffy rice. Large menu with many other meal choices but, for now, I crave the teriyaki. Very reasonably priced. Quick service.

Solid, fast hibachi. They have really great prices and great yum yum and ginger sauces. We ordered the combination chicken and steak with a side of veggies. They order was huge! The plate was so big and perfect for two. They put a nice amount of veggies on the plate but we love veggies so we ordered extra. Oh gosh did we get extra. They sent out a huge bowl of hot, fresh veggies. We enjoyed our meal and look forward to returning :)

After a less-​than-​great seafood experience the night before, we decided to try Jimmyz in Surfside. Their menu seemed kid and adult friendly. Upon entering, the hostess was helpful and friendly. We ordered at the counter. Great prices for some AWESOME, simple hibachi and sushi dishes. I have had all ranges of these types of food, so we knew we were going somewhere more casual beforehand and that helped our expectations.
The ginger dressing was the best I have ever had. We had all types of sushi rolls on their menu. They were fresh and delicious. The Volcano sauce was perfection. My husband had the steak hibachi and loved it. The kids all had 5 $ chicken bowls (a perfect, simple hibachi chicken and rice). White sauce was homemade and yum. I loved the spring rolls. The prices were good and totally fair for the food we received. Our order was out on 10 – 15 minutes once ordered. Needless to say, we will be back!

My family and I ate here the last time I was in town. My family loved the food. I would not say it is the same quality as a Miyabi or Kan Pai, but this is more of a «fast food» style of hibachi… they don’t cook in front of you. With that in mind, it is superior to most fast food hibachi joints! The building looks cool and the kids like the way the restaurant looks. As the dad who always pays, I loved the price. Very reasonable prices for the beach. We’ll definitely return!

Don’t wasted your money here — been here once and will never go back — Try else where — Need a lot of work on flavoring n cooking — GO Try out some other hibachi places believer they are better.

I read other Unilocalers reviews and wanted to give Jimmyz a try. I ordered steak hibachi with broccoli and fried rice. So many Unilocalers said it tasted the same as other hibachi restaurants without the show. Well hands down, they are wrong or lying to you.
My food was hot, but missing flavor. The rice was overcooked and broccoli had no flavor. The restaurant looks like it was set up for a different type of service, then cheapened and changed it to what it is. There is an awkward empty dining area you can sit in, but it was just creepy. See photos. You need to go to nearly the back of the restaurant, but just outside the kitchen to place your order. There is no door located between the order area and the kitchen and I found the whole place looked like it was set up by someone’s blind uncle.
If the food were top notch, I could forgive the layout. I wish to be kind and say this restaurant is mediocre, at best in all aspects. I won’t return.

We absolutely love this place! We order delivery from there all of the time and eat in frequently as well! It usually takes about 45 minutes for our order to be delivered, which is what we are quoted on the phone when we call in, and it is always very hot and fresh! Even though we live nearby we understand that we probably aren’t the only ones ordering since the food is delicious and affordable and it will take a little longer to get it conveniently delivered to our door! Besides, anywhere you order at the beach for delivery takes at least 45 minutes but usually up to an hour! When we eat in the food is even better! We like the beachy and cozy vibe inside and though it is somewhat dark inside we don’t mind at all! The beautiful art work and brightly painted walls as well as the friendly staff make our experience eating in pleasant everytime! If you like sushi order the crazy roll, that’s our favorite. Be prepared to wait a little bit for that sushi, the staff rolls it fresh to order, I’ve seen them, it’s very cool! Everything we have had here has been spot on! Jimmyz in Surfside is our favorite hibachi restaurant in town!

If you want fresh sushi made to order, Jimmyz is the place to go. The tempora shrimp is fried to perfection. The tuna tastes super fresh without all the fishiness. Also the staff was super friendly and took care of us really well. Worth every penny.

Food was very good and even more impressive was the quantity they give you! The service was also wonderful and coupled with a very reasonable price, this will be a definite «re-​do!» Thanks JimmyZ!

They were out of grouper and flounder so mahi mahi it was. Food was ok. The delivery guy was rude and didn’t give thanks after tipping.

Don’t Waste your time. Had shrimp dinner. Shrimp good. Vegs all onion, a few chunks of zucchini. California Roll Flavorless And dry. Hubby had steak and same thing. .all big chunks of onion. Inside dark. Will not return.

Food was just mediocre. The pieces of fish in the sushi were so small that they got lost in the rice. They brought us 3 of the 5 sushi rolls and made us wait 15 minutes for the other 2.
Gave it 3 stars because they were very pleasant, otherwise would have given them 2.

We got hibachi and sushi delivery. It was fast, super affordable, and delicious!!!
The ginger salad dressing is so nom, they need to bottle and sell it!
I had the veggie hibachi, and the others in my fam had the chicken and steak hibachi. They loved it too and said it was cooked perfectly! The Cali roll was yummy. And the delivery guy was super nice. I wish we had gotten Jimmyz our first night too so we didn’t have to go through all the crappy nasty other places!!! Thank you Jimmyz!!!

My wife and I always eat at jimmyz when we are in the area. Probably been here 10 times and have never been dissatisfied. We will continue to make this our stop when we are in the myrtle beach area!

I originally came when they had a half off deal. Since then, the quality, service, portions, and speed have not deteriorated. The restaurant is usually a ghost town since they do a huge take away biz. Everything from cardiac buster to cardiac healer. Your choice.

Went only for the sushi and it was average quality sushi. I did wait 45 minutes at 2pm on a Wednesday to get 6 rolls made. I think that is way to long especially for average sushi. Prices are competitive with other sushi places. Maybe this has better habachi but I wouldn’t go here for sushi again. I would go for the habachi though. Staff wasn’t negative but they weren’t great either.
