I’ve been faithful to Darque Tan for more than two and a half years now. I recently decided to move out of the area, so I went in to sadly cancel my account today. Although I explained numerous times that I was moving away from the Swampscott area in a couple of weeks, the sales woman was relentless trying to sell me $ 80 worth of lotions and additional products. I again explained that I’m cancelling my account, so I won’t be needed the tanning lotions. I understand that they don’t want to lose customers during their shifts, but it went back and forth for way too long to the point that I was uncomfortable. She then told me that they«might have trouble» if I come in to tan for the remainder of the month(even though another employee had told me I can tan through the rest of the billing cycle). She then told me I would have to tan first, then come back out and cancel(probably hoping I’d forget). I came back out after tanning, and she wouldn’t even look at me! She gave me the paper to sign, I said thank you, have a good day! And she didn’t even respond! I don’t know who hired her, but she is an embarrassment to your company. All of your employees at that location are so sweet and have great customer service except for this one. I’m sad to give 2 stars because I loved this place, but you certainly left a bad taste in my mouth with that employee.

I use to be an faithful to this tanning salon and stopped tanning a couple months ago. I really enjoyed the customer service that I received every time I went here and how clean it was. Today I received a text message regarding a tanning deal they had going on and decided to start tanning again. I arrived at the tanning salon and the young lady that scanned my card told me that it’s for members only and I am a guest. She was extremely rude and abrasive, instead of trying to sway me into a package deal she was rude and could care less about giving good customer service. She then told me to take my business somewhere else than. I will never return back to this tanning salon again, also will advise friends and family to do the same. I wish I got her name so I could make a formal complaint to her manager

Horrible pricing structure, very confusing and could be done in a much more simple way, which I’m sure would lead to more sales. Their mystic tan is very old and sprays extremely unevenly. Only gave 2 stars because the staff is very pleasant, otherwise I recommend you take your business elsewhere.

I have lived in the Salem/Swampscott area off and on for a while, during the summer I try to get my tan on the beaches, and don’t really go to tanning beds much, but now that those summer beach days are behind us, it’s time for the tanning beds. I l used to come here a couple years ago, and just tried it again this past week. Well it is just as pleasant as I remembered. The beds were all clean, and the young girl working was very attentive in cleaning the beds after they had been used. They have different packages which are very reasonably priced, and although I wasn’t eligible, also have great special offers for new clients. The staff also seems to know what they are doing, as they asked the right questions when determining what level I wanted to tan at. Good place to tan if you live in the area.

Disclaimer: I’m not a big tanner… but I recognize when I look like a character out of Twilight and I need to get my sun on. I came to that realization a few days ago while ramping up my beauty routines for my wedding. Yeah… can’t get married in a white gown and have skin that is competing with the hue of your dress. Not pretty! This Swampscott location is very convenient to my home base so one night after work I wandered in, squinting in the bright light of the immaculate lobby and probably looking very out of place. The manager of the store was behind the counter and she was so helpful, knowledgable and an absolute sweetheart. She took her time explaining all the beds, the different levels, how to achieve the best tan(I don’t get dark quickly… it takes me awhile) and set me up with a very convenient«debit account»(You choose how much to pay rather than a monthly membership fee and any tanning you do is deducted from that pre-paid amount). Perfect! I’ve gone twice now and it’s by far the cleanest and nicest tanning salon I’ve ever stepped into. The beds are always sanitized after use by staff(no «do-it-yourself» and hope the person before you actually did it!), they put fresh towels and mints out on each bed, and the bathroom has a nice little basket of stuff if you need to freshen up after tanning! Great spot if you need your UV fix(in moderation, of course)!

I moved to this area and needed a new place to tan. I went into Darque Tan in Swampscott and was immediately impressed by the cleanliness and décor. The manager Kasey was so helpful and knowledgable about the whole process of signing up and how to best get started. I am not one of those people who get dark immediately so she set me up with a schedule to start slowly and build up a good base. The staff always makes sure you have proper eyewear, and lotion to keep your skin healthy. I have to say this is the BEST salon I’ve ever gone to and I have been a happy customer for several years now. The addition of the Red Light Therapy Booth is wonderful. This service is offered in all of the best spa’s and is amazing at $ 99.00 for three months! Do your research on how beneficial this is for your skin and circulation, etc… and how expensive it is to have done at a Spa. I highly recomend Darque Tan to anyone who wants a super clean, friendly enviorment and knowledgable staff to answer any questions you may have!
