You walk into this place, and its clocks galore. This is a clock shop, but my goodness, they have old clocks and new clocks, big ones and small ones, and even glass ones which are wicked cool. I went here to get a clock that wasn’t even right twice a day repaired. It needed a new quartz movement, which costs $ 40. I do not know what is involved in the replacement of a quartz movement, so I paid the price, the owner/repair person said he would try and have it ready in a few days, and will call me when he is able to do it. He forgot to call(I find this is to be expected of many repair places) so I called after about two weeks. Clock was ready, I picked it up, and it works just fine. He has a no nonsense attitude, but is polite. I will say this, keep your receipt just in case. When I brought the clock in he asked the 40 to be paid in advance, I complied. When I went to pick it up, he asked for the $ 40. I showed him the receipt, he apologized, and gave me the clock without issue. Will return again if I need a clock repaired.

I first came upon Phillips Clock Shop about a year ago. I have a small collection of cuckoo clocks, and my family had promised me a new one for Christmas. I was very happy to see the selection of cuckoo clocks that Phillips’ caries. I picked out my clock, and it has been more than fine ever since. This Christmas, I am purchasing another good-looking cuckoo; I know that it will bring me much pleasure. My father also bought a modern digital clock which sets the time automatically and gives the date and temperature. This clock has been working fine for the whole year since last Christmas and is still going strong. I like Phillips Clock Shop very much: the variety of other types of clocks is very varied. There are some beautiful Grandfather Clocks which I always enjoy viewing every time I go to the store. One day I am thinking of purchasing a banjo clock, and since I trust Mr. and Mrs. Phillips very much, it will come from their store. The store features other types of wall clocks, and some very beautiful table clocks as well. There are quite a good number of these at the store. They also have a specialty in pocket watches, and there is a selection of women’s jewelry as well. The Phillips know quite a few customers by name. I have had a few repairs done by Mr. Phillips, and some clocks that I brought in for repair are now running very well. If you are thinking of a Chelsea Clock, Mantel Clock, cuckoo, other wall clock, table clock, grandfather clock, or other, Phillips is worth the drive and should be your first stop. I have had nothing but success with my clocks from the store.

After working at an architecture firm that specialized in historic preservation for residential homes and seeing all the beautiful grandfather clocks placed in the homes, when it was time to purchase a housewarming gift for my sister we considered a nice clock. My parents and grandmother thought giving an heirloom quality clock would be a nice centerpiece for the entryway but we weren’t sure if it was in our budget. An interior designer I know suggested looking at this clock store north of Boston rather than buying sight unseen on the internet. I was surprised that a local shop would have prices comparable to online. The owners explained the differences in the varieties and were patient and not pushy. It was neat hearing the chimes in person, even in the little clocks. We went with a stunning Howard Miller that will surely steal the show at her housewarming party. While getting a more traditional clock for her I ended up also buying a very cool modern clock for myself that would work in my contemporary loft space.
