This is a branch of the Confectionary in DeKalb. It’s a little smaller than the original. Chocolates and various types of candy by the pound; I usually go to town on the Jelly Bellies. On the chocolate side, the sea monsters(giant«turtle» type caramel/pecan confections dipped in chocolate) and cinnamon creams are particularly good. They have cordials by the pound, and the two Confectionaries are the only local places I know of that you can get them.

My grandma and aunt from Chicago were hosting my bridal shower and were looking for favors and asked me for ideas. I suggested chocolates and told them about a little shop I knew of! We went in and ordered boxes with 4 truffles and they were adorable! They were also really reasonably-priced, especially for my city-folk family. The girls also put monogram stickers and tied ribbons onto the boxes(we provided those) for no extra charge. The service was outstanding and I would definitely go back for a special occasion or even just a treat!

Ah yes, many a young college suitor bought me candy from the Confectionary… and sometimes I’d just buy it for myself! It’s the best chocolate in DeKalb. Their big turtles(I think they call them sea monsters) are awesome.

Awww I miss sponge candy! I miss the delicious smell walking in on a crisp Fall or frosty Winter day. Not only is the smell welcoming, hte staff is just wonderful! All that chocolate around must make for a good mental attitude! :o) Everything is made by hand and it tastes delectalicious.
