I moved into a new rental, and my dishwasher wasn’t working. My landlord sent Paulsen, and they said that I needed a new dishwasher. The dishwasher was delivered, installed and cleans just fine. But the heated dry doesn’t work. I’ve said something to Paulsen several times, and they refuse to look at it because«It’s new, so it can’t be broken.» My fridge was also dripping water from the ceiling, and my landlord sent Paulsen again. I was told I needed a new fridge. Several weeks later(after they originally ordered the fridge in the wrong color), my new fridge was delivered. I wasn’t told that there were major dents in the doors until after it was in my condo. I was told I’d get new doors in 3 – 6 weeks(another appointment at which I have to take off work to be home for). Also, the fridge they delivered opened the wrong direction, so the installers pulled off the handles and put them on the other side of the door… leaving a hole in the stainless steel. Finally, after putting the fridge in, no one checked the seals. The freezer seal was not at all working, and my freezer melted down the next day. They sent out a repairman, but I was pissed because I lost a lot of food. First off, who delivers damaged products? Second, just because something is new, it doesn’t mean it works. Third, I think they like to say an appliance needs to be replaced rather than repair it, as they make more money. At my old home, which I owned, the same thing happened with the fridge, and it was a $ 100 cost to replace a part. I don’t think my fridge really needed to be replaced. I’ve complained to my landlord, and he said he usually goes through Lowe’s. I doubt he’ll be using Paulsen again, and when my husband and I purchase a property in Sycamore, I’ll never use their services.

Bought my fridge from them, so they were the first I called for service. First the ice maker went out, charged me almost $ 400 to repair. I thought that was a bit high, but it was fixed. Then a few weeks later, the refridgerator itself wasn’t cooling. Finally got them out there after a 5 day wait and the guy removed some dirt off the back, laughed and said«well, if that doesn’t fix it, you’ll have quite a repair bill». He said to check it the next day. I think after waiting 5 days, I would have an answer and a repair. He didn’t charge me for that, but I think he’s hoping for«that big repair». Well, they aren’t getting it… I called someone else today. They lost my business.

We purchased appliances from Paulsen and they were great, but their repair service stinks. We had their repair service out and the guy literally took less than ten minutes to clean the back of the fridge. He said if it didn’t work right in 24 hours, «it was going to cost us a lot of money». Who says that? Since we had used them before, just two months ago, he said no charge… but then sends us a bill two days later for $ 89! We called Heartland Appliance and he cleaned a ton of dirt out that Paulsen didn’t do. We called Paulsen to complain… no apology, they were rude. I usually only write a review when impressed with a place, but not this time. Steer clear and save your money!!!
