Only $ 6 for a ticket, a very friendly staff and several types of great popcorn, what’s not to like? I’ll be coming back. Highly recommend!

My wife and I have recently moved to Sycamore and we’re searching for a theater for our movie night outs. We were fortunate to find Sycamore Theater. The staff, lobby and theater were a wonderful experience. They have a great selection plain, buttered and flavored popcorn. The ticket and concession prices were also great. The theaters have outstanding digital sound and video There is also a soda shop next door which a plus for before or after treats. Overall, two thumbs way up!

I love this little theater. Good prices and good people working. Definitely smaller than other theaters but the experience and prices are so much better.

Support local businesses! These guys are a local family. Real nice people. Very affordable and comfortable. No hassle. Great vintage theatre. It feels like a movie house should!

I am really torn on how to review this place. It’s a small town movie theater and isn’t your mega theater. Tickets are insanely cheap and they have a good selection of new movies. Even know the theater is old the seats are clean and comfortable enough. My issue was that the picture was somewhat poor and the sound is horrible. I saw the Avengers and I struggled to hear some of the dialogue. I know I am getting old, but not that old! If they were to put in a better sound system and get slightly better projectors this theater would be AMAZING! If you come to see an action film go to another theater, but if you just want to catch a good flick at an affordable price this is your spot!

My company paid for a group of tickets here, otherwise I wouldn’t have gone. I don’t like the place at all. Smells bad, floors are sticky and grimy, sound is bad-no bass. It’s a good place if you don’t mind those things I guess. I found the staff to be a bit curt, almost to the point of being rude, but maybe thy were just busy. I bet I could fill this page with things that I found less than appealing about Sycamore State St Theater, but I hope that my 1 star, and the handful of things I noted will change your mind about going there, or perhaps influence the owners to do something about it.

I’ve been once or twice because i live within brief walking distance. I’m glad we have a theater in Sycamore, but picture and sound quality was lacking. The chairs were really painful(rigid, poorly padded, and cramped for someone 6’4″). Pricing is good, the building is lovely, and it’s a great choice for kids, shorter films, or because it’s convenient. Unforuntately, it’s just not a very nice theater that’s not extremely well maintained.

When I can, I come to see movies here. They only have three screens, but the price is right, and I am a sucker for movie theaters with a marquee and a sense of history(the theater was built in 1925). The price is right($ 6) and it’s nice to support a local business. It’s a good place to come if you’ve waited a little too long to see a film. If you’re of an age to be interested in movie history, check out the framed photos of movie history in the hall on the way to your theater. Parking is pretty easy to find(street only).
