been craving peruvian food for a while and decided to check in the area for a good restaurant for a family dinner, when I came across the great reviews of this place. So i decided to take my boyfriend here so he could try peruvian food for the first time. I was hoping it was as good as the reviews said it was. And for the small hole in the wall it was Amazing!!! the service was great the food was served quite quickly and HOT! the Shrimp Saltado was made with big clustard shrimp not small cocktail shrimp. My boyfriend had the Lomo Saltado and thought the taste was amazing. we will definitely be going back and doing plenty of pick up orders from this place oh and the fish ceviche was mouth watering delish! ***** MUSTTRY*****

It’s kind of a ramshackle setup, but the food is flavorful and they make accommodations if u have food restrictions. The one negative is that they didn’t have eating utensils for my to go order… so, yeah.

This was an excellent alternative if you do not have a Mario’s Peruvian or Mr. Pollo in your neighborhood. Peruvian is goooooooooood! They have the only other fried rice that actually tastes like authentic fried rice! Things to try: Arroz chaufa de pollo, and the lomo saltado. Oh yeah, the blue corn drink — chicha morada! It’s really good stuff! We’ll be back, since it’s just up the street from us.

This is one of my favorite places to get Peruvian food. As soon as you walk in you, you are greeted with a friendly smile & the smell, omg it’s just so great. The staff is super friendly & always try to accommodate you. My favorite plate is the Lomo Saltado, I highly recommend it. & don’t be afraid to ask for extra bread. Every time I go, I get it to go & they give me extra bread & don’t take so long. Honestly it’s so worth the price ! If you eat in, you feel so at home. I have no complaints or improvements. Don’t be afraid to try different things. It’s all delicious. & to drink get the maracuya, it’s so good!

Delicious, I don’t eat meat and it is nice that they cater to people like me. I order the lomo saltado with no meat and they substitute veggies instead. It is awesome with the green sauce. Mmmm finger licking good!

For the past few months I have been eating this Peruvian place and I’ve got to say it’s one of the best ones. Las llamas smells so great when you first walk inside. You get the greatest whiff of Peruvian food, the smell is indescribable I cannot put together the words to describe it! You can taste the food just by the smell, it’s the most amazing thing ever. If I could pick any place to eat it would be there especially because their service is amazing and they are so welcoming. The employees there are always so respectful and are always trying to do anything to make you satisfied. When you see the food you fall into heaven and you just want to have everything on the menu. The best part is being able to see the chef cook the food so you know it’s made fresh when you order it. The outside is very plain but it sticks out cause of its big red letters. Not many people know about this place and that’s probably the best part about it. It’s very disclosed and when you introduce someone to it they fall in love. The inside isn’t that big but they have everything very well set up. It’s has a classic feel like an old diner so you feel right at home when you walk inside. You aslo get to see all the different dishes they have to offer there. All you hear when you walk inside is people talking and food sizzling. Everyone one in there is interacting with each other. Everyone loves their food there and best thing is that they talk English and Spanish so if you don’t talk Spanish you won’t feel left out or not welcomed. They welcome everyone as they walk in and always try to greet you. It’s never quiet in there, you may think it’s a bad thing but it isn’t because it’s such a good vibe in there especially that everyone is talking to each other and about good things. This place is definitely somewhere I will continue to go because of the quality of food. Not many places with fast service cook their food fresh when you order it. The customer service and cleanliness in there is top notch. The employees bring everything to you so you can relax and watch tv, they also clean up for you after. I would always recommend this place to anyone looking for amazing Peruvian food.

The green sauce that comes with the food — incredible! A bit of a kick — I spread it on EVERYTHING. The papas appetizer(boiled potatoes with a tahini-like sauce) was really good and flavorful(especially when topped with some green sauce). Everyone at the table got the chicken version of the Lomo Saltado — juicy, perfectly spiced and sauced chicken with fantastic veggies. I kept sopping up the sauce the with rice. The french fries weren’t great but I just ate around the fries. I will definitely be back to try more of the menu!!!

First off, this place is not hard to find. It is right on the northeast corner of Foothill and Astoria in a little strip mall with a big sign that says LASLLAMAS. There are about 3 signs and I don’t know how you can miss it. I went to pick up dinner to go. I walked in, ordered at 4:46 and left at 4:51pm. Everyone was friendly and nice. I have zero complaints about the service. I am pretty picky about Peruvian food as I have traveled to Peru and once you have had the real thing it is hard to have a crappy imitation. So at Las Llamas I ordered the aji chicken, because aji is amazing and it is hard to find if you want to make it yourself. It only comes with chicken and rice(kind of wish it had a vegetable or something with it but you know what, it doesn’t matter) and it was delicious. I mean seriously I almost licked the bottom of my takeout container. It also came with a side of aji verde which was spicy and wonderful and amazing and I haven’t had aji verde that good in a while. I am always looking for good Peruvian food and have tried a number of places(Mario’s, El Rocoto, Picca, etc.) and this place really is great. Again, I only had this one dish but I will be back, no question.

We went a few times and we waited almost 30 minutes for the order. It was only 2 plates of chicken. Don’t get me wrong, the food is ok but the wait is horrible. You have to really look for it because it is hidden.

I just ate at this place. I been to Mario’s in Hollywood and a few other places that have Peruvian food. This place was just as good I’ll even say better. I had the lomos saltado and the Portion was big with alot of beef in it, the best part is there pricing is really good and Less expensive compared to the places in Hollywood, Glendale, the valley that I been to. I moved to sylmar about a year ago and there ain’t too many good places to eat but this place was really good. I’ll be coming more often.

Las Llamas Pollos is a Peruvian restaurant in Sylmar that has some delicious food. The location for this restaurant is horrible because it is hard to find parking because it is in a corner plaza with other busy stores. However the food is tasty so it is worth it. When I got their, the restaurant looked like a typical Mexican fast food restaurant and their was nothing to really look at while you are waiting of your food because the walls are very plain. As I was looking at the menu, the cashier was making me feel uncomfortable because she just kept staring at me while I was looking at the menu. I felt rushed to pick what I wanted to eat. This place gets some what busy during the night time but the employess are very fast at getting your service. Some of the dishes they have remind me of regular Chinese food. They had fried rice and a type of chow-main. I ordered the Lomo Saltado that contains fries mixed with beef and vegetables and a side of white rice. It is very tasty and it satisfied my stomach. If you love to add chiles on your food, they have an amazing chile called Aji. Aji is a bit more spicier than regular Mexican chiles. I wish I new how they would make this chile so i can make it at home. This sauce is AMAZING and I highly suggest that you should try it.

Just got done eating my food from this spot and it was really good, the only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because I ordered my food over the phone and the lady told me it would take 10mins, I got there in 10 mins and waited an additional 20mins, she didn’t even say«sorry for the wait». Smh pretty damn rude

All I have tried is the pollo a la brasa and it was good, it wasn’t OMG best pollo ever, but it was good. The place is nice and has good lighting which is always a plus for me. Service was good and it is great to see a Peruvian restaurant in sylmar. I will definitely go back to try the tallaring saltado.

Peruvian Food in the the North east valley is not common. It get 3.5 stars. The food is plentiful and solid. But just not as good as others I had. But if you get the itch for pollo Saltado and don’t want to drive far. This will do.
