Middle Ranch

I love Middle Ranch, it is one of my favorite places in the world. Of course right? My husband and I got married there! The venue is absolutely stunning. The catering company they work with is also perfection. We mostly communicated with Liane, usually via email. She would always respond to emails, usually the same day and was very sweet and helpful. I am so happy we got married at Middle Ranch, it was the perfect place for my husband and I to say I do.

Beautiful! My cousin got married there 10.31.2015 on one of the hottest days ever but even in the heat, the venue was perfect.

This is a beautiful venue! I was hired by my clients as wedding day coordinator for their wedding at MRL on 10÷3÷15. We started working with Liane and then was turned over to Karen for the wedding day. I also got to meet Deb, so I’ve had the opportunity to work with all three.
Liane was easy to communicate with and accommodating during the planning. During the final walkthrough, we had to repeat a few things– but we were confident everything would be perfect the day of.
The day of came and the ceremony site was let set correctly, but Karen and Deb were so good (and patient!!) about moving the site to how the bride wanted it. They moved it quickly and we were able to carry on setup. The linens didn’t make it onto the table, in result one more thing our team had to do during our setup. No problem. Overall, they allowed us to move items that the bride wanted to hide (pictures, small statutes etc) and allowed me to store her wedding items two days prior to her wedding so that we didn’t have much to transport.
I can’t stress how amazing this venue is so tranquil and gorgeous! I’d love the opportunity to work here again and would recommend it to future brides interested in a rustic venue.

I would not recommend this location. We just had an event there — they were very difficult to work with and not interested in our business. They acted like they were doing us a favor by letting us have our party there. They deducted funds from our security deposit without even telling us. There is no choice in caterer and you need to bring in everything yourself. I would look elsewhere.

I love having my horse libe here. There are so many nice places to ride. The trails are wooded and shady, and rugged enough, but not realy difficult. You feel like you are away from it all. There are easy. trail and hard ones. There are also different arenas, jumping, dressage. One even for working cow horse lessons. When it is too wet or I’m saddle walking and it is much less boring walking on dirt roads than in an arena. The birds are so beautiful too.

I used middle ranch as the venue for my wedding last july for both ceremony and reception. I really thought it was a beautiful venue especially that time of year, the flowers were blooming so it didn’t need a lot of extra decorations. Everyone was easy to work with, they answered any questions that i had and responded to emails promptly. They have a great outdoor space with lighting to place a dance floor. Anoush did our catering and the food was amazing. There was so much food to choose from and our guest said they had never been to a wedding with food that good. Overall the cost was well worth it and it was not as much compared to other venues we had looked at.

I’ve been boarding my horse here for about 2 years and the care here has been great. I keep my horse in one of the paddocks on the north side where he lives with two other horses that he gets along with well. The staff is friendly and takes good care of the horses and I feel confident that my horse is in good hands and don’t worry about him when I have to go out of town from time to time. Coming from the horse country area of Texas (Fort Worth/​Aubrey) where there is an abundance of pristine horse facilities and knowledgeable equine professionals, it has been frustrating finding a facility in LA that I can be satisfied with but Middle ranch has been excellent. Also the trails here are sweet.

I coordinate the prom for a small, private school in the San Fernando Valley. After attending two weddings at this location in the past year, I called to inquire about the possibility of hosting our event there. I was told after providing my potential date that «The manager said ‘No! We’re not interested in proms’». I then asked for the manager’s name so that I could hopefully speak to them directly and plead my case (our kids are not allowed to dance, we only do a banquet, venues of the past two years vie for our business each year), but I was rather rudely informed I didn’t need to «know her last name».
It must be wonderful that Middle Ranch is so in demand that they are willing to blindly turn away business and a loyal customer. I was severely disappointed and feel others, especially brides, should know the general demeanor of those in charge. When planning an event as meaningful and special as a wedding, I would not want these people in my corner.

Liane and the crew and Middle Ranch were great to work with. They were straightforward, quick to respond to emails, and very helpful. Middle Ranch is a beautiful venue and it was so nice to have the venue to ourselves almost all day. It also required very minimal additional decorations, which was a great cost-​saver! We were able to have both the ceremony and reception at the same venue, plus parking was free for guests which is a rarity in the LA area. Overall, it was a great find and highly recommended!

We were here for our friends wedding party … WOW amazing place !!! Super happy with location and the way everything was. Great spot for wedding and family party !!!

Maybe I’m a little bias because this is where I got married. The location is absolutely beautiful. It was everything I wanted in a location from offering a nice out door setting with beautiful lights outside and a nice country feeling, to a cabin inside which is air condition which was perfect for my summer wedding, offered my guest the option of the two.
They ladies I dealt with were extremely nice and help me through this stressful time. The only thing that I didn’t like was that when you book this location you have to use their own caterer which was pretty expensive (but she works with whatever kind of food you want).
We book this location on a sat in September from 4 – 10 on reserving the day we had to put a deposit of $ 500. We had to pay the rest 2 months before the wedding and it was based on how many guest we had.

I really love this venue. I got married here last year. It’s so so beautiful for a small intimate wedding. It’s also reasonably priced. Their caterer is Cynthia Brooks Catering. I had many of my guest tell me how good the food was. But they forgot to bring coffee cups and served cold coffee. One of my biggest problems that really upset me was with I believe her name was Karen. Liane which is a total doll, Let me set up the day before. Karen was there that day. She was very rude to my wedding coordinator and me. I was hoping she wasn’t going to be there the next day for the wedding. But unfortunately she was. She managed to piss off every single one of my vendors. She even yelled at the carter in front of my guest. She really needs to learn to speak to people in a professional manner or take a class in Customer Service & Hospitality.

Beautiful ranch, lovely setting. Close to trails and easy access to the Hansen Dam. The serenity and peaceful atmosphere at this ranch makes you feel like you are in another world. The employees and other clients who work there are always helpful and make you feel like a member of the family or at least like you belong. The grounds are kept up immaculately. The ranch will make you feel like you always want to return.

I just got married there a little more than a month ago (!!) and overall, it was wonderful and beautiful and we received several compliments on the venue and the food.
HOWEVER, there are a few drawbacks:
This place isn’t for everybody. You have to be REALLY laid back about things.
1) This is more of a complaint than drawback. They’re good about walking through the set up with you and are pretty flexible with where you want your tables, dance floor, etc. And I wanted the bar, cake and photo booth in very specific locations because it was 90+ degrees that day so I wanted to make sure the bar was inside to keep people inside for cocktail hour. Basically give them an hour to cool off before going outside for the reception. I arrived at 11:00 morning of my wedding to find everything was set up exactly as I had requested. Great! My fiancé (at the time) and his groomsmen walked out of the lobby at 5:00 to greet guests out front for the 5:30 ceremony. SOMEHOW between 5:00 and 6:00 (ceremony completion time) the bar was moved outside where the photo booth was supposed to have been, the photo booth was moved up on top of this little grass hill way out of the way, and the cake was moved to where the bar was supposed to have been. As such, the guests ended up outside at their reception tables in the heat during cocktail hour and several people didn’t even know there was a photo booth.
Sooooo if you have a vision of your wedding, just know that it may change without any notice or permission.
2) Depending on your DJ’s strike time, your reception is drastically cut short because you only have 6.5 hours from ceremony start time to exit time. And by exit time I mean every person and piece of equipment or decoration must be completely off the premises and out the gate no later than 11:59:59. Unfortunately my DJ required 1.5 hour strike time so I had to end the reception at 10:30, which gave only a 3.5 hour reception. You may think that’s a lot of time, but when you count all the toasts, special dances, cake cutting, bouquet toss, etc., you’re left with about 1.5 hour of regular dancing and festivities. And believe me, they are STICKLERS about the time.
3) In positive news, the staff very graciously let my wedding party and me assemble our centerpieces the day before the wedding and stored them in an air conditioned room for us that night. However, the next day the receptionist wouldn’t let my bridesmaids put out the flowers on the tables because she said it was too hot outside. Fair enough. However, by the time she did put them out there, it was too late for the photographer to take any photos of the reception area. So I have none. You are completely hostage to their timing, their schedule and their set-​up for everything. And if you try to do it yourself you get yelled at by the receptionist.
4) The receptionist is simultaneously helpful and rude. And definitely overbearing.
Now, despite those drawbacks and a few more, I still gave it 4 stars because it really is pretty, unique and affordable. You just HAVE to be willing to be VERY laid back about everything. Minus the food which was very easy to order and tasted delicious!

I got married here almost a year ago and am just getting around to reviewing it. I’ll make it short. The place is gorgeous!!! I fell in love at first sight. Price is very reasonable. The catering company attached to the venue serves delicious food and is helpful as well as flexible. The Middle Ranch staff was also super helpful most of the time. The only reason that I’m giving four instead of five stars is that one of the women behind the desk (I remember who but will give her the courtesy of not calling her out by name) was incredibly rude and unhelpful during my final walk through a few days before the wedding. She kept giving me a million reasons for why I couldn’t have a dance floor the size I wanted and why I couldn’t set the tables up a certain way. She kept talking to me like I was some sort of an idiot. Even if I am one, which may be argued, that was not an appropriate way to speak to a paying costumer. However, she was very helpful on other occasions so maybe she was having a bad day. Anyway, look this place up, it’s a hidden gem!

Let me preface this that I didn’t have my wedding here but only because a friend offered her huge house to me. Otherwise this would have been the spot… Liane is wonderful! Everyone is very responsive and helpful and I’m sure they all go out of their way to make every event extra special. I would definitely recommend this spot to everyone considering a wedding or special event venue.

A friend held their wedding at this venue and it was a really lovely place with a main lodge and outdoor dining. Parking is more than ample and you couldn’t ask for a more pleasantly rustic, but accessible location near the city (off the 210 freeway).

My daughter was married at this wonderful venue just yesterday and we couldn’t be more happy or impressed with the beauty of the location and the helpful staff.
Middle Ranch welcomed me the day I went to see the venue in person. As I drove in, a pair of Clydesdale horses were walking down the street… completely magical.
Our wedding décor was all rustic/​vintage and they allowed us to bring a bunch of furniture and accessories to beautify their lodge-​like reception area even more.
We were referred to their caterer, Cynthia’s catering, and had nothing but rave reviews on the quality and taste of the food, as well as the friendly serving staff.
If you want something truly special and memorable, please consider this venue… you won’t be disappointed!!!

Another place my fiancé and I visited for a possible wedding venue. This place was quite a drive from the San Gabriel Valley (which we realized we would have preferred a venue a little bit closer for most of our guests to drive to). The venue itself is very nice. There are horse stables around, but does not have that stench of horse manure. When we walked into the house to take our tour with the coordinator, we though the décor just added to the charm of the venue and of the house. There is plenty of space for your guests to just lounge around and chit chat during cocktail hour or just to take a break from all the wedding party dancing. There is also the option of having the reception in this home, but everyone would be so spaced out, making it less intimate.
Another option is to have a wedding reception outside, which would be a nice change from having it indoors. But one problem we had about the outside area was that the cemented walkway/​patio area is on a slight slant. You can chose to make that area your dance floor or put tables on that area (which the person we met with told us that they would utilize the slanted area for such. hmm, doesn’t sound very safe if you ask me). Either way, it would not pose as a good place for anything. You could just not put anything over in that area, but then you would not be utilizing your space as well.
Over by the pool, there are chairs, umbrellas and lounge chairs all along the pool side. One bad thing about that is that the coordinator told us that she would not allow for us to remove those for our wedding, so they would be out and take up space (again, not utilizing the space very well. But you could put floating candles in the pool for a nice decoration).
Adjacent to the pool are outdoor restrooms (there are restrooms inside the home as well) and a nice bridal room. This room actually provides a nice large amount of room for the bride and her bridal party.
Overall, The price in general was acceptable. But with the slanted floor and the restriction of not removing the chairs was a downer for us and made it easier for us to decide against this place to book for the wedding.

Beautiful place to marry and have a reception. We could not have been happier. It was amazing and magical.
The grounds are green and fir trees are everywhere. The lodge itself is filled with antiques and has a huge double sided fireplace with mantles that just ask to be decorated.
The staff was warm and cooperative. We had a great experience with them.
