I tried Tillies for lunch today and decided on the Ted’s burger and an order of fries. The burger was advertised as being«hot» with a mix of Dino’s Wango Tango and some A-1 with jalapeño peppers topped with pepper jack cheese. With that combo, I figured how can you go wrong. The burger turned out to be ok but not the hot and spicy combo that I had imagined — it may have had Wango Tango and jalapenos but couldn’t have been much of either one as it was not at all spicy(at least to me). The burger was pretty tasty but definitely did not live up to what I expected. The fries were freshly cut but the portion was pretty small — another handful of potatoes in the fryer would have made it a better portion. The space itself is a former grocery store and it definitely still looks like it’s origins. Would not recommend it for eat-in unless it’s nice outside so you can take advantage of their picnic tables. They also have an odd mix of grocery items — it looks like they are aiming at the camper crowd with ice, charcoal, cereal and 2⁄3 of what it takes to make s’mores. Grahams and mashmallows but no chocolate. If you need groceries, head on down to the DeliMart!

This place just opened, so perhaps they’re working things out still. The good: their menu is decent sized — full of hamburgers, homemade sausage, hot dogs, and sandwiches; and they have Hoffman hot dogs! The bad: their portions of fried mac and cheese, as well as fresh battered onion rings are disappointing; big space but only 3 tables; our sausage patty sandwich wasn’t cooked all the way, they forgot an order of Slaw, their fancy hamburger had the mixings in the hamburger & subsequently overwhelmed any juicy hamburger taste that should be present in any good hamburger. Bottom line, I’d go back to give them a second chance to see if the food tastes better and their onion rings are larger and bigger portions.
