First off let me start by saying that this place is a little cute joint in the middle of nowhere and it’s a shame that this family based restaurant have no idea how to run a restaurant. This place could be a hotspot joint for anyone. They are overpriced, cheap and rip offs. $ 5 for Delivery charge is way to much, especially when you are buying $ 60 worth of food when before we tried them it was $ 3 for delivery. we are 5 minutes away from the joint. When mentioning this to the lady who takes the order thinking maybe that if we a frequent customer they will not charge us, she just plain and simple told us that if we don’t like it then to come pick it up. Nice customer service right there. if you want anything extra you will have to pay! I ordered the fish taco which was cold, burnt and hard as as stone to eat. The house salad was not fresh and other then lettuce I got maybe 2 little pieces of cucumbers, peppers and a spoon of corn, but requesting a little bit of jalapeño they didn’t hesitate to charge me $ 1. My colleagues also ordered some stuff and were not that happy. Won’t order from them anymore. found a new spot.

The food is great and the prices are OK but the service is HORRIBLE. The girl at the register has a serious attitude problem and doesn’t even try to hide it. She will blatantly tell you that you are an inconvenience. Like I said, the food is good… but if your a person who wants a well-rounded experience, this is not the place for you. They should definitely hire some new staff members because this place could be very successful with some slight alterations

Been here a few times, the Crispy Shell Tacos are awesome — so many to choose from, tonight I had the fish, beef, and my(new) favorite pork. I had to try the pork empanada; all I can say is, another classic. Next time I’m thinking a few more tacos and try the burrito. Looks like they do a big take-out biz but I prefer to enjoy it fresh from the kitchen in their petite place.

First off let me start out by saying this place is extremely over priced! They charged me $ 2.50 for a tiny side of guacamole. I had the chicken quesadilla and it had a chunk of chicken skin/fat inside. That really was the icing on the cake for me. After spending $ 11 for a chicken quesadilla and having spit out chicken fat I was grossed out and threw away the whole thing. Will not be returning here. Disgusting ps– giving 2 stars instead of 1 out of sympathy

My mom accidentally bought a groupon thinking it was for Chipotle. Instead of letting it go to waste we decided to try this place out. All in all it was pretty good. Not spectacular but definitely better than some of the reviews make it out to be. I had the veggie burrito bowl which was very pretty in its presentation with lots of different elements(guac being one of the standards!). The veggies(mushrooms, spinach, onions and peppers) were all really tasty. The entire dish was not too spicy and the the salsa was really good. The only disappointing part was my rice was underdone. We also got the taco grande salad with chicken. The chicken was a little bland and the veggies were chopped very large. My tiny mouth couldn’t fit some of the slices of tomato. We also found a few jalapeño stems and a butt of lettuce. Unfortunately the pickled jalapeños weren’t very pickled and therefore really spicy. The avocado ranch dressing was really interesting though and the taco shell it came in was huge! The last thing we had was the jalapeño poppers. They were pretty mild(which I appreciated). The cheese was disappointing though and reminiscent of Kraft cheese. El Chipotle is a pretty solid 5⁄10 in my book. I would eat here again but it’s not on the top of my list.

i called in an order to pick up a chicken burrito, and after giving my phone number she asked if i was going to leave a bad review, i don’t know how she knew who i was by my phone number which is strange, but i certainly will not eat here ever again and i would not recommend this place to anyone

2.5 hours later after ordering when they opened at 11am and still no food… This is completely unacceptable. I know that it’s Cinco De Mayo and I’m sure they are busy but not only should we not be charged for delivery, we shouldn’t be charged for half of our order. This is the 3rd time that we’ve called in for delivery and it’s come more than an hour later. I called twice today and it’s the same excuse from the«manager» that our order is ready to go, waiting on the driver. 2.5 hours? Really?

I have finally decided to start using Unilocal specifically to write a review for this«restaurant.» I’m sure the family that owns the place is lovely but they really should just throw in the towel. First off we couldn’t place an order via telephone Bc there was no answer. Should have just taken that as a sign to not go… anyway, went into the place looks like any other tacky mexican restaurant. Placed our order and then waited about 30 minutes, which from what I’ve read isn’t nearly as long as other people have waited. Price was decent for the amount of food. Unfortunately I got a ground beef burrito, just an FYI the white rice is just that, plain bland white rice. The ground beef had zero seasoning. Asked for extra cheese they barely gave me any cheese. The side of cheese dip is nacho cheese out of a can. It’s gelatinous and may have been the most disappointing part. Why did I give this place two stars you ask? Mainly because the salsa was delicious, it’s not that chunky stuff they sell in the grocery store, it’s similar to what you would find in a real mexican restaurant. Not spicy at all though for you heat lovers out there. Other people I ate with got a taco salad and enchiladas. The chicken on the taco salad was seasoned well enough, the romain lettuce was more on the dark green side and the jalapeños were most definitely the pickled ones you get in a jar. The chicken in the enchiladas had more of a chipotle flavored seasoning but was decent. Traditionally enchiladas not only have chicken and cheese but also tomatoes in them and sauce poured all over the top, these had neither. They were more like rolled up tacos/quesadillas. The yellow rice was significantly better than the white rice(mainly because they seasoned it) and was actually quite tasty. I will not be returning to this restaurant and unless you’re just looking to get a quesadilla I would avoid it. Taco Bell is closer to real mexican food than this place. I swear I’m a nice person, this just isn’t good food.

Very good. It seems to be run by a very nice family who works hard to please its customers. Food was very fresh and they were happy to accommodate my special requests. The creamy sauce is delicious. The food is spicy, delicious. All of the ingredients were fresh and toppings were fresh chopped/made at the restaurant. El chipotle wings are SPICY. The chicken tacos also spicy and very tasty. If you are getting food for little kids I would suggest asking for a little less spicy seasoning or extra sour cream. Guac is delicious, salsa is ok. Overall very good quality and I will definitely be back.

I was hoping to find a close good Mexican restaurant. Unfortunately I found the food to be nothing like the reviews. The chicken empanada was big but the meat lacked flavor and they added cheddar cheese. I’m used to empanadas where the chicken has an amazing seasoning. I’m also spoiled by Mexican food from california. The beef quesidilla was tough. And the fish taco was the skinnier taco I’ve ever eaten. Go to whales tale for fish tacos and you can see the difference. Not impressed

Best mexican food in the area, RIP chipotle — incredible home made authentic food, the secret chili sauce is unbelievable, service is great — make you feel right at home and menu has a plethora of options… Definitely recommend it and definitely becoming a regular

As a vegetarian who is into what I like to call«clean» food, I am a HUGE fan of the«other» Chipotle. However, every once in a while, I get the urge for some more traditional-style Mexican food, and this sends me searching for a place that can make me a veggie burrito without any mysterious ingredients or flavors. Today, I found El Chipotle on Berry Hill Road in Syosset. As soon as I walked in the door, I was greeted very politely, which is the first stage of my litmus test for any restaurant. Then I learned that El Chipotle, which took over the small space formerly occupied by a not-so-great Mexican café, grills its vegetables separately from its meat products, which was all I needed to get excited about this place. It only took a few minutes for the chefs to prepare a nice-sized veggie burrito with yellow rice(no chicken broth or animal coloring of any kind), black beans(no lard or other animal fat), some cheeses, a nice assortment of fresh vegetables, and guacamole(added no charge, but I’m not sure this is a regular policy). The dish came with a handful(just the right amount) of tortilla chips and sides of both salsa and sour cream. I was really rooting for my burrito to taste good, as I like to support downtown businesses and I like to help good people achieve success. Lucky for me, it was delicious down to the very last lick of my thumb. There were no gooey, greasy vegetables in the mix and I could distinguish the taste of each ingredient individually, hence the term«clean» food. Of course, with every bite, I felt like I was cheating on the other Chipotle, but I got over it. «This will just be my little secret,» I kept telling myself. Anyway, I can only speak for this one vegetarian item, but I found El Chipotle to be very tasty, not too oily, and not too salty. I will definitely go back, and I recommend El Chipotle to any of you Syosset-area vegetarian Mexican food lovers, including those who worship the«other» place.

Food was not just great. They were superb. Flavorful, savory, and very fresh dishes basically enlightened me as to how great Tex Mex food can be. Got delivery of about 8 separate items and could only pick portions last night due to the generous portions. The leftover still tasted so good today. :) Taste and quality of food trump any small gripes such as no itemized receipts, etc. We will definitely enjoy more dishes from this restaurant. Great find!
