Came in with family to get ice cream. I ordered a Royal Banana Split only to be told we are out of Bananas. If it’s on the menu you should have it!!!

My sons type of quick bite. Honey BBQ cheeseburger, waffle fries, and strawberry ice cream with kit kat and marshmallow syrup toppings. A Child that eats makes mom very happy. Very friendly servers here all the time.

After moving a ton of stuff from Home Depot, it just made sense to celebrate at Friendly’s which was conveniently located right across the street. I haven’t been to a Friendly’s in years, so I was definitely excited to check it out again. They had a great promo running — $ 5 for a meal? Why not! My sandwich was surprisingly delicious and for $ 5, you really can’t go wrong. You can’t come without getting some ice cream and of course we did. I had a sundae, he had a shake and it was the best meal we’ve had in a long time. All in all, I’d definitely come back. Service was great, food was delicious and just what we wanted.

Didn’t even get to eat. On a Monday night 7:30 pm was left waiting to be seated for almost 15 minutes. Was told once that we would be helped, but person never came back. We left, didn’t seem promising as many seated patrons sat without food. This location always seems to be challenged in the service arena — wasn’t in the mood to tolerate it tonight, ate elsewhere. Too bad, food is decent quality, reasonable prices.

I’m a fan… Would not necessarily come here to eat food this is an ice cream place one of the only ones left. Yes it’s nothing like it used to be but what the area is missing more than anything else is a real traditional ice cream Place. I’m not saying that this is that place but I am saying that the ice cream is good here that’s what you come here for ice cream. When I see parents feeding their kids mac & cheese with a hotdog knowing that the mac & cheese comes from a box and the hotdogs got to be worse than Oscar Myers I wonder why they feed their kids that shit but hey that’s not my problem. Buttercrunch ice cream any topping is good for me the Reese’s pieces sundae that’s money man that is fucking money. I’m dropping the mic Reese’s pieces sundae all buttercrunch ice cream… That’s the money shot. Enjoy.

With most of the Friendly’s in the area closed, I was excited to find this one still open. I took my twin 4 ½ year olds for a treat. We were greeted very nicely by the manager and shown to our table. Our waitress arrived very quickly and was very sweet. I ordered a burger and the kids got macaroni and cheese with French fries. I’m a dad so nutrition isn’t #1. ;) They enjoyed their meals and were mostly excited for their desserts. Everything was good, the ice cream was as delicious as I remembered. Service was excellent and I know that is something that is often lacking. We will return! My kids demand it.

10 minutes to be served water = red flag The service was kind but terribly slow. The food was also lackluster. The wraps were soggy, the fries were mushy, the utensils were dirty, and our server was nowhere to be found. I think the best part of the meal was the milkshake, but if you are coming to enjoy a decent meal, look elsewhere.

On a recent trip home, I decided to take my family to Friendly’s. My kids were super excited since we have nothing like it where we live now. The staff was nice enough but that’s really where it ends. One of my kids meals came with a big piece of hair in it. I tried to brush it off and get her to eat some other things on her plate, but then we found another piece of hair. At that point, no one wanted to eat so we sent her plate back followed by the rest of the food. They offered to give us a new plate but no one wanted to keep on trying. I did promise the kids ice cream, so I told them to just order sundaes. Un-freakin-believable…one Sunday had an eyelash in it. So, I asked the guy for a new one. He brought out a bowl of plain ice cream. Perhaps I made a mistake in being really nice about it. I know being a waiter isn’t the easiest job so I told him I understood it wasn’t his fault. I guess he took that to mean we were OK with the whole thing because not one thing was comp’d. It would have been nice if they had at least offered. Unfortunately this location didn’t live up to all of my childhood visits to other Friendly’s. 2 stars because the manager did come by and apologize later and say she was sorry we paid for the meal with the hair. I won’t be back :(

As we walked in the door, I got the feeling I might regret our last minute dining(lunch) choice. I don’t know… I saw the sign and had a flashback: I had to have a Fish A Ma Jig, or however you spell it. The joint was jumping with little kids making all kinds of noise and as the lady tried to seat is in the midst of it, I inquired if we could please sit in the ‘No Screaming Section.’ She reminded me that this was Friendly’s… I know that; but you can’t tell me that they don’t keep an area that’s more laid back than the main seating area. I got a ‘look,’ but they say us in the back, basically with quiet adults. Any smirk from the hostess was wiped out by the smile of the nice waitress. One thing, though: Friendly’s doesn’t have mashed potatoes anymore! I prefer the side of mashed as opposed to the greasy French fries. Who made this business decision to stop serving mashed potatoes? What’s next, discontinue the ice cream??? Anyhow, the fish jig was decent; brought back some memories. I had potato skins as a side: looked greasy, overcooked and definitely not heart healthy. I think my Friendly’s days are nearing an end.

I admit it: I’m biased where this Friendly’s is concerned. I’ve been coming here since I was a little kid, when my Mom used to take me and my brother here after our elementary school concerts. For me, like a lot of people who grew up in the area, it was a part of my childhood. That said, I still feel strongly that this is the best Friendly’s location around. While I’ve had some bad experiences at other locations, this Friendly’s has always been good to me. What I really like about it is the fact that some of the same waitresses have been there for years and years; that, to me, is one of the signs of a well-run restaurant. Naturally, it’s not perfect; if you get one of the waitresses who’re old pros, the service is great, but they can’t be there all the time. Sometimes, you get a young kid who’s new to waiting tables, and it shows. Also, the place can get really crowded, in which case waiting a while for your food is not at all uncommon. All that said, I find the food consistent enough that I don’t mind the occasionally slow service. Of course, Friendly’s food isn’t going to win any awards for creativity; it’s just burgers, tuna sandwiches, waffle fries and of course ice cream. But if that kind of fare is what you’re in the mood for, you really can’t do much better than this neighborhood favorite.

I took a group of 19 for my five year old sons birthday, after Bounce nearby. Bounce didn’t serve food, so Friendly’s was the perfect eating venue. Staff was friendly. Food was decent but not better than other chains of its caliber i.e. Applebee’s, Ruby Tuesdays. Ice cream menu was appealing and the kids were all very happy. The tables nearby were dirty when we walked in and dirty when we left. Maybe a little more staff on a Saturday night would help.

Folks, nobody, I mean, nobody tries harder to please than this place. great for the kids. Not a bad thing on the menu. Kids want friendly’s all the time. It’s obvious. And when they had lobster roll, wow!!! A knock out. Like being in Maine.

I went here after my family and friends discribed tgat Friendly’s ice cream was the best, so i ordered 2 to go. I came by for a vanilla, banana, almonds, and caramel ice cream, and I am very disappointed. The almonds were bitter, and for some reason the girl thought it was ok to put overly ripped bananas with a dash of attitude. Either my family and friends had no idea what good ice cream is, or I had a strike of bad luck.

Fantastic ice cream here, namely the Reese’s Peanut Butter cup sundae soo good, make sure you ask for extra peanut butter sauce! There food is OK, nothing spectacular but will definitely hit the spot if you’re hungry. Food is comparable to Denny’s. Prices are cheap, I’ve eaten here a few times with my girlfriend, getting both food and dessert for under $ 40 with a 20% tip. Calories are a little on the high side, so don’t expect to come here and eat«good». Gotta be prepared to come and let you hunger loose! Lol. Definitely craving that sundae now that I’m writing this review, that’s what Friendly’s does to you, makes you crave their delicious ice cream all the time! 4 stars.

It’s ok yeah really just ok go figure Friendlys has been around a long time… in the really olden days a big beef cheeseburger special hit the spot wait its not even on the menu anymore and a jim dandy sundae service is so very spotty and I swear each time this is it I will never return yet I do hit or miss on the food chicken strips quesadillas salads fish a ma jigs(hey Friendlys what happened here? greasy fish on equally greasy bread) we joke about the loaded cheese waffle fries they look mighty good and they might make your belly mighty sick the menu changes frequently except for the ice cream there are ALWAYS fribbles and sundaes and a nice thick fribble is hard to beat last time I was 7÷29÷13 there they are advertising any flavor fribble had a darn good pistachio so yes I will return

Shhhh don’t tell anyone but I’ve had many a meal here… and enjoyed. I honestly like the food here better than at a Friday’s or an Applebee’s. Melted cheese sammie, fried app and a solid sundae? Done deal in my book. If you ignore the new menu items and stick to the heart clogging favorites then you’re golden. When my little niece is around, Friendly’s staff knows exactly what to do. High chairs, sippy cups, small plates etc. Painless process to eat with a toddler here. Sure, if you get stuck with a soccer team behind you, you might have a bad experience(I used to order gummy bears in my sundae so I could throw them over my shoulder at other tables) but those moments are few and far between. Yes, I was a terror. This Friendly’s however, is not. Tip: Get a watermelon roll and bring it to your next party.

So many sundae’s have been had here over the years. After band concerts, after tennis matches, such a hang out spot of all high school teens, and their families after events. The food is always decent, and I personally love their sandwiches. Always hits the spot. Service has always been good here! If you are looking to gain as many calories as you can in 2 hours, come here — they deliver! :) It’s as close as you can get to soul food in Syosset. I’ll take it!

The menu seems to be getting smaller and smaller, and yet the prices seem to be getting higher and higher. I will go to get a terrific salad I had a month ago — and it’s gone. I do know the company was having finiancial troubles — bankrupcy? but they’ll survive, they are an after-soccer-or school-event staple. Ice cream is good, service perpetually bad, but it takes alot more to keep me out of a place.

I knew I should have got the 6 scoop reese’s piece 1330 cal. sundae, but instead I went for the Fribble. I just tasted like milk, not much ice cream flavor.
