I’ve been here many times in the past, but it had admittedly been years since my last visit. I brought a friend who hadn’t been here before, and we both enjoyed our food, as I had the special and he had an entrée that was in the curry section. We both noted that our entrées could have had better flavor(seasoning), but the seafood was cooked very well for both of us. We also had the coconut shrimp and tempura soft-shelled crab as appetizers, and they were well-cooked and delicious. For dessert, we shared the chocolate cake, which was light and delicious and I definitely recommend it! Unfortunately, my friend was taking a bite of his food, only to bite into a rubber band, which was a tad gross, but we were nearly done and did enjoy our meal and simply made our waiter aware of the issue and intended to pay for the meal as planned. The manager came out and not only removed my friend’s entrée from the bill, but refilled my wine at no charge as well. Great service, and overall, the food was enjoyable, so I still will give them 4-stars since I had never had a bad experience in the past either.

Underwhelming. I can’t believe I threw down $ 25 for a «filet mignon» curry. When it’s all said and done, when it’s cooked in a curry, it tastes the same as if you used non fancy schmancy regular cut meat. I had a glass of wine, an order of shrimp dumplings(there were 4) which lacked flavor, a mango mojito and the curry and almost $ 80 down the drain. Service was good.

Even though I had previously decided not to return after my first experience, we decided to go to the bar for dessert last night after an amazing dinner at Aster. I finally figured out the problem with the restaurant… the staff has taken over and treat it like they are at home instead of a fine dining restaurant. They have such a lax, casual attitude that it is unprofessional. The experience is no longer about the guest. I have experienced this before when a restaurant is open for a long time and is successful. I ordered a coffee drink that came out with just the alcohol and coffee — no offer for whipped cream. I asked for whipped cream and it was brought back to kitchen for a while to make fresh whipped cream. Of course by the time I got it back the coffee was not exactly piping hot. The desserts were 5 start all the way — presentation, taste. I won’t be going back, too many other great options in the neighborhood.

Had the lobster scallop curry special, it was awesome to say the least! The presentation was gorgeous and the taste was even better! I will defiantly be returning. However, our waiter was a little rude and was not fully present but the food makes up for one mans service.(The water boys and bussers were also good).

This was my second time at Lemon Grass. I had a great experience the first time and the same went for my second experience. It is a little over priced in my opinion however the food is very good. Food: I started off with the egg rolls as an appetizer after reading good reviews. I was not disappointed, they were very flavorful and had the perfect crunch to them. For my main course I had the Orange Tamarind Duck, which is one of their most popular items. I highly suggest ordering the duck. It is the best duck you will find in Central New York. It is extremely tender and juicy, the portion size is fairly large as well. Service/Atmosphere: I love Armory Square, this restaurant is in a great location. There is definitely a younger vibe in the area, and there is a ton of cool things to do. The restaurant itself is pretty large and there is ample seating. The wait staff is hit or miss, my first time our waiter wasn’t very attentive, however I had a better experience the second time. If you are in the area I would definitely suggest this restaurant. There are so many options and the food does not disappoint. However if your looking for good inexpensive food in the area this is not your place.

My wife and I have been here in date nights as well as coming here for Syracuse dining week. The food is typically good and we’ve never had a bad meal. That being said, for the price I think that there are better meals to be had in downtown Syracuse.

3.5 stars. Nice upscale atmosphere for a business lunch. Food wasn’t anything special and lunch options are quite limited. Would definitely go back for a work related lunch but not otherwise.

My 2nd visit here courtesy of my lovely stepdaughter and Restaurant week. Sadly it was as ordinary as the other visit. The starters were really good but the only thing of interest in a thoroughly uninspired meal. The Thai curry was way too spicy compared to my experience in Thailand. The Filet Mignon was two small slices with an uninteresting sauce and my Hotpot was bland and boring. Plus if you go outside R.W., the prices way outmatch the food. Erawan on Erie Blvd is ½ the price and twice as good and doesn’t have the revolting obsequious service designed to turn your stomach before you even order. Not for me.

Wonderful food, service, and experience. Wish I could have ordered dessert because they look amazing. The green curry was the hero along with the appetizer specials. Will be back without a doubt.

After 2 visits 3 months apart, everything was delicious, inventive, and well prepared. Ask about the off menu specials and you may get fresh seafood caught 1 day and flown in overnight. Wine list is very good. Staff is very knowledgable and friendly. Tip: Must order a dessert just to see the pastry chef’s works of art. Very impressive. Highly recommend.

The food here is as good as Thai gets in this area. It is always deliciously and artfully prepared. Favorite dishes include: spring rolls, beets & goat cheese salad, massamong curry, and sautéed forest mushrooms with beef. Honestly, you can’t go wrong with anything you get. This is the type of restaurant to save room for dessert! They are fun, different, and so tasty. if you’re feeling guilty, split one with your dining partner. The downsides to this place: 1. seating is super close to others, so there is little privacy/intimacy. 2. You might get a waiter who is a little on the snooty side. Best cocktail ever: Rosemary Cucumber Gin cocktail. Tart, not too sweet, delicious(but pricey). The cocktail was so good I went back the next night just to have a drink at the bar. Tip — sometimes they have jazz musicians playing at the bar.

I have to admit, I had been looking forward to dining at Lemongrass ever since I came to Syracuse. I had heard great things about the food & service, and was pretty excited to try it out. We headed there Friday night without a reservation and were quickly seated in the main area(we were offered a table in the Bistro, but declined). The server came up to us right away and was very knowledgable about all the specials. He also answered any questions we had about the food and how it was prepared. I ordered the Sautéed Forest Mushrooms with Shrimp. Let be clear, it was a really delicious dish & I finished all of it!!! But after all the good things I heard about this place, it just didn’t live up to my expectations. For the amount of money we were paying, something just didn’t do it for it. But, I would definitely recommend it for anyone looking for a yummy, yet more-expensive meal right downtown. Next time for me though, I’ll probably just end up at Appethaizing. The Good Delicious food(unlimited white rice for table) Great service(I felt like the waiter might have been even a little over the top at time, constantly checking with us) Beautiful décor & atmosphere

Lemon Grass is a prime restaurant choice for a romantic date, dinner with family, or fun dinner with friends. One of their strengths is that their food is always artistically prepared. They’re known for their adorable desserts(chocolate in the shape of a high heel!) and delicious steaks and thai food(warning: when they say a dish is spicy, it is really spicy!) Food is relatively expensive for Syracuse but is a perfect choice for a nice occasion. Service was wonderful and the host and waiters were all great.

This restaurant is billed as one of the best restaurants in Syracuse. I must say I was a bit disappointed for the hype. I ordered a cabernet, but the waiter thought that the blend would be better. It was just okay. For my main meal, based on the server’s recommendation, I ordered the Cowboy bone-in ribeye medium rare. I will say this, it is a huge piece of meat, and I usually enjoy a steak like that. However, I was quite disappointed that the meat was chewy and quite bland. My business associate ordered the surf and turf which looked quite good, but I have no idea how it tasted. The desserts were very tastefully prepared and were much better than my main meal.

I eat at Lemongrass whenever I come downtown. They are open for lunch and dinner and their food is consistently amazing. They have outdoor seating during the summer and they hire musicians to play smooth jazz during weekend nights. They’re also in the perfect position for enjoying the CandleLight Series during the summer. As an avid oyster eater, I can say that Lemongrass has the best oysters in all of Syracuse. They get fresh oysters all the time and the waiters aren’t shy about telling you this every time they bring them up. Besides the Kao soy with soft shell crab that I love love love and get all the time, their steaks are pretty amazing and lets not even talk about their whole fried sea bass that they offer in the summer. Their desserts are very delicious and fancy looking and their staff is super friendly. Sometimes my husband and I only come here for their desserts especially their sticky black rice with mango that they only serve during the summer months. Their drinks are meh but their wine selection is one of the best I’ve seen in Syracuse.

My very first visit here was sometime in the early 90s and I’ve returned at least once a year since. I’ve seen different iterations of the menu, but it’s generally stayed the same. I do miss the clay pot shrimp. My most recent visit was very pleasant, in fact the SAME waitress that waited on us that first visit in 93(?) was our waitress tonight! I’d say each member of the waitstaff I’ve encountered has been polished and service is spot on. I recommend the specials for appetizers and salads. They change seasonally and are usually the most interesting choices. The oysters were delish and pristinely clean. Heirloom tomato salad was very fresh and flavorful. I love the gang gai entrée, as I love red curry. It was intense and I felt like I could have eaten a mountain of rice with the delicious, hotter than hell, sauce. I know I’ll be craving thai again soon. Everything was exceptional.

Been here twice. Didn’t have the best first impression simply because my friend and I ordered the«not that good» dishes. Went there last night for the second time. We ordered Tom Yum soup, sticky bacon, Mussels, green curry beef and mushroom beef. A strawberry Napoleon ends our dinner. I can say all those dishes are awesome and authentic. The sauce of sticky bacon is very asian and the vinegar reminds me of the memory when I visited Thailand. The Mussels are something I die for. The best mussels I have ever had. I’ve been to many high end restaurants but they never cooked the mussels this well. The quality of mussels and the taste of that sauce make the dish very impressive. Tom yum and green curry are very authentic. The mushrooms are fresh and juicy. I would definitely recommend every friend to Lemon Grass. The best two in Syracuse: Pastabilities and Lemon Grass. No wonder.

So very tasty! The only reason why I rated it 4⁄5 stars was because I don’t like chocolate and the majority(pretty much all of the desserts were)! Cream of corn and crab soup was amazing, shrimp dumplings, springrolls and the duck was fantastic. I can’t wait to go back!!!

Was in Syracuse NY today on business and a friend recommended that we check out«Armory Square», which is a few blocks of restaurants and bars in downtown Syracuse. Because we were feeling Thai today, we stopped in at Lemongrass. It was a beautiful summer afternoon, so we parked at one of the outdoor tables overlooking the Museum of Science and Technology. Inside, the décor was very classy, with green walls and canvas oil paintings all around the restaurant. Very classy place. The waitress was really nice and gave us the rundown of the menu. She told us about their special«Prig Pow» sauce, which was a medium spicy roasted chili paste based sauce with garlic, peppers, and cinnamon basil. I thought that sounded great, so I had that over chicken. One of my co-workers had the Massaman Curry, which was a slowly braised filet mignon dish with potatoes, pearl onion, fresh ginger and cashew nuts finished in a coconut broth. My other co-worker had the Prig Pow sauce over mussels. My chicken was so tender and the sauce was incredible. My co-worker who had the same sauce, finished his mussels, and dumped all the rice we had left over in the Prig Pow sauce. He then continued to eat until every drop of sauce was gone. We had to roll him out on a stretcher afterwards. He is still in a food coma as we speak. Lunch entrees run $ 12 and up. Starters are from $ 11-$ 15. Steak dishes and dinner entrees are going to run you $ 30-$ 38. We were there for lunch, but this restaurant looked like you should be business casual for dinner. Very much enjoyed it!
