I just bought a bike there today. Yesterday Kyle who works there was so helpful in answering my questions and helping me pick a bike. I am training for a duathalon and haven’t ridden a bike in almost 20 years. He steered me towards a bike in my price range and was so helpful. When I went in today to purchase the bike Stephen knew who I was and was able help finish the transaction. He adjusted the seat, helped me figure out the different gears and put the bike and rack on my car. I could not have asked for better service!

I had a great experience there today that I had to share it. I stopped at their booth this past Sunday at the Westcott Street Fair. They were advertising free light bike tune ups, but I was a wee bit late and Steve took the sign down but said he would still honor it later.
Today I showed up and he was true to his word. He really gave more than a light tune up by adjusting the chain, oiling the chain and other components, checking/​adjusting the brake cables, and topping off the air in the tires. He also shared some good advice on maintenance and winter riding. The next time I need some service I’m going to go to them.
The store is small but packed with bikes and accessories.
Riding home was a pleasure, much smoother. And they are the hippest bike shop in town.

I’ve bought two bikes here and have had multiple tune-​ups/​adjustments over the last three years, and I always look forward to talking with Neil, Steve, and their rotating mechanics. While their current space is terribly small, they are supposedly moving to a larger location in the next few months. Here’s hoping they are able to keep the same DIY vibe there as this space has. Prices are on point and they have a large selection of roads, hybrids/​commuters, and even a few kids bikes — both new and used — and tons of accessories. Syracuse is lucky to have a shop this great.

I got a new bike here today, and everyone was so helpful! They have a good selection of bikes, and very reasonable prices. They were willing to let me try out several bikes before I made my decision. The staff was very friendly and eager to help! I would highly recommend this bike shop. There’s also an adjacent café that you can get good coffee and pastries in while they do work on your bike.

The highway-​speed turbulence broke the front fender on one of our bikes while driving to the Adirondacks for a bike tour. Mello Velo had just what we needed, including a place to get a delicious lunch, and we were back on the road in no time.

There is one guy who works here who brings his Shiba (so cute), Musa (or something like that.) I cannot remember if I ever knew the guy’s name though, but he is the man to talk to. He is very nice and knows his stuff. He is always very helpful whenever we come in.
The rest of the staff are ok I guess.
As for the shop, they always have the stuff we need in stock and the prices are reasonable. Definitely my favorite bike shop in Syracuse.

Best shop I have ever done business with. I ride in all seasons and finally killed my road bike. I needed a new ride and MV took excellent care of me with an extremely low price and really good customer service. No douchiness as is so common in bike shops, and cheaper than anywhere I have ever bought at before. Also, currently the only shop in Syracuse that sells used bikes.

Awesome place! They have a great selection of new and used road and mountain bikes as well as a ton of accessories.
I came in not knowing much about what I wanted but the owners were extremely friendly and helped me out. I ended up getting a used road bike in great shape.
They do a lot of tune ups, pretty much anything you would ever need. Would definitely go back to for all of my biking needs. Would recommend to everyone, great little local shop! Oh and the dog is adorable too.
