I lived here for a period of time, and I thought at the time that the complex was nice for Syracuse standards. I was wrong. The complex constantly smelled like garbage, the walls were thin, and management was at best unresponsive, but more often, rude. I found that I was ripped off after moving out; they will find a reason to keep your security deposit. I actually left my apartment much nicer than I found it. Replacing carpet should be standard procedure between tenants, and so should a thorough cleaning. Think about moving into an apartment without new carpet and a thorough, professional cleaning: disgusting and unhygienic. It is the responsibility of the complex to ensure that the apartment is move-in ready for the next tenant. The apartments are dated, and honestly, the crappy state of the apartment itself(worn and old carpeting, gaps in the tiles in the kitchen, weird smell coming from bathroom sink, etc.) made it impossible to keep clean. I also found that«routine maintenance» around the complex was extremely disruptive. Window painting seemed to take a month, and it always began at 7:30 am with a wonderfully loud cherry picker that beeped incessantly. Parking lot resurfacing/repainting was also a nightmare; the contractors did not maintain their schedule, and several cars got towed because the contractor wasn’t following the printed schedule. Maintenance was never quiet when working outside in the loading areas; trash pickup was also annoyingly early, and the maintenance or trash pick up staff did not seem to respect that trash pickup occurred at 7 am or earlier. What seemed like an affordable option for a student was actually a sub-par, dated apartment that is poorly managed. Not to mention the interior garbage disposals that always smell. Save yourself the time and the money, and look elsewhere. Pros: secured entry; free parking; dishwasher Cons: communal laundry rooms(always gross); thin walls; pervasive garbage smell; constant fliers placed under your door from management; I didn’t always feel safe there

A lot more glamorous from the outside than when you’re actually there. I just moved into an apartment… Wasn’t able to look at it prior because someone was living in it – big mistake. Upon moving in I found: My garbage disposal was broke My faucet was chipped and leaks/sprays water when on Light in the kitchen doesn’t always turn on My bedroom door isn’t on right and won’t shut/open Bathroom fan is broke Bathroom sink semi clogged Air conditioner doesn’t work — birds nest was in there and maintenance tried convincing me to keep it after they cleaned it but I refused and got a new one. Never seen so many problems in one place. Maintenance was nice and came pretty quick to fix things but it’s probably their fault that so much stuff wasn’t fixed BEFORE I moved in. Also, pool is always a little dirty with bugs floating… Also found a tick in it which is gross considering all the Lyme disease and stuff they could carry. They can afford to clean out the bugs daily. My advice: if you really are set on moving here make sure you check everything in the apartment but for the price we pay you could find something nicer.
